I understand about knee pain! Can't believe the 13th of this month will mark my 24 year anniversary of my skiing accident that brought me the 2 surgeries (still facing a 3rd).

Good job with getting everything put away :thumbsup2

Oh no! I didn't know about that. Ouch! My problems started after gaining my weight. I don't know if they will recover on their own, but I haven't seen much improvement yet. A little, but not enough to do normal daily activities pain free. Trying to save up money to see what a doctor thinks.

You're doing an amazing job w/ the weightloss. What are you doing, exactly?

My Dr has told me that my weight doesn't have any thing to do w/ my knee problems (which is good & bad :rotfl::rotfl:). My knee cap doesn't stay in place, so at times it just gives out on me. I've fallen to the ground when trying to put weight on my left leg & fallen while standing too. Most steps have to be taken with my right leg (going up or down) cuz I never know if my leg/knee will support me or give out on me.

Next surgery involves moving bone, so that is why I've been putting that off. Overnight in hospital, 6 weeks on crutches & another 6 weeks recovery time. 1st surgery was in '88, 2nd in '98. No real desire to do nbr 3.

Just got off the phone w/ my parents.....trying to finalize the payments & plans for the family cruise in April :thumbsup2

I am now struggling, trying to decide if I want to take a nap or not. Not sure what time the Ohio friends are arriving & when I will need to head back out.

Michelle - will you forgive me if I don't call? We can chat tomorrow at work ;)

Ok.. here's a shot of the Fantasy...

IF you didn't know that it was the Fantasy... doesn't it sort of look like a shot from the canal???

Thanks Monica, I've been doing Weight Watchers. I do need to add exercise but every time I try my knees act up. A couple days ago I started doing a variety of abs exercises since that doesn't involve the knees, obviously. Ouch on your surgery, I wouldn't be eager to do that either!

Jennifer didn't want to go to the MK after all - yeah!

I met Dennis, Jennifer & Parker at Earl of Sandwich & we spent about 1 hr there chit-chatting & catching up. The boys then went to Disney Quest while Jennifer & I walked around.

Now home, cooking a little steak & watching "Once upon a time". Interesting show.

Twisted my knee somehow tonight....grrrr! Hopefully it won't hurt tomorrow, so that I can get back on the bike.

Walk... and don't over do it.. start out with a block and after a few days do a few more blocks for a few days... if you overdo it... you will crash...

I can't use a bike. It bothers my knee. I tore the cartilage in my knee, 5 yrs ago, running for a plane at BWI. Never run off the moving walk way. :scared1:Walking around WDW wasn't a problem, stairs were.

I do much better walking.

I'm going to start walking this week.. the weather isn't supposed to be as :cold::cold::cold:

So far I've cut down on the snacks I've been having. And I've had more veggies with my meals.

Also.. I bought snacks that I can have in single servings - like granola bars and crackers/cheese. I got the ones with pepperjack cheese cause I don't eat too many of them but it seems to satisfy the little bit of salt/spicy craving I have. (and Mom has been instructed to take the package and run if I take more than one small pkg at a time!!!)

I can't have any snacks in the house. Single serving packaging just means just eat more than one, for me. :rolleyes1

Hi Kids!

I had a good weekend. Saturday was totally a rest day, since I'd had a cold relapse. Sunday was Weight Watchers (down .6), breakfast and movie with Peg, pedicure and totally re did my budget and organized my bill paying system. Very productive day, just didn't make it to the grocery store.

This afternoon was my check up with the ONC/GYN. I'm back down to every six months now (YEAH). Having to pay for three Pap-smears a year (as insurance only pays for one) was cutting into my cruising money! Today's stats: blood pressure 128/78, temp 97.7 (I'm always below 'normal') Pulse 78.... good numbers for a old/fat chick!

Monica...did you hug Jen & Dennis for me? :grouphug:

.

Well we love this old fat Chick and Congrats on the good Dr.s appt!!!! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

What did you see at the movies? I want to see War Horse and of COURSE.. Beauty and the Beast will be out by the weekend in 3D!!!

Hello everybody!

Didn't make it onto the computer yesterday, so I missed checking in.

Healthy Me is my New Years Resolution!:goodvibes
Sounds like things are going well for lots of us. Michelle, Holly and Jackie all seeing losses! All focused on healthy.:cool1::thumbsup2

Went and tried a Nia class tonight. I didn't enjoy it as much as the BellyFit. The structured part was good, but the free movement part really pushes me out of my comfort zone. Need to be able to just relax, stop thinking and move, but just doesn't flow for me.

Monica - I don't blame you for putting off the 3rd knee surgury. When you eventually do it, will it eliminate the knee pain, or just reduce it?

Healthy Me!!!

I need to get t-shirts made... :goodvibes

I'm just having my 2 pt WW ice cream sandwich for my snack. I need to eat something before I can take my evening meds. I've always loved ice cream sandwiches.

I am off to Jersey tomorrow again for a Drs. appt. - Hoping to see Will again and I've decided that I am in love with my new niece-dog Abby.. she's a puppy and a pain in the butt and wants to be a lap dog.. but she's also a sweetheart and I think each time she's around.. it will get a bit quieter with her...

so I need to go and get some sleep.. I'll check in before I go...

Night everyone!!! :cloud9:

Thanks Shannon!

I have to go pack up a few things (staying overnight) and get myself on the road...

there are snow showers in the area but I don't think that will be a problem...

Healthy Me !!
I can do that ::yes::

I have recommitted to climbing the 46 steps to our condo at least once a day.

Did it and also down them and now walking a mile to meet Tom at a reception.

Bye!!

PS: Got to the hotel and the escalator was broken so instead of the elevator I climbed 52 more stairs.

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

I mall walked today while I was killing time waiting for Em to get out of work.. we had a nice dinner tonight and then I decided to come home. Had a good day and I don't have to go back to the neurologist for another year.. unless something pops up!!!:thumbsup2
