I'm glad that everything went back to being good with Tyler. I can see how change in routine would upset him. It's hard for all of us. AND I'm SO glad that the doctor agrees with you about the meds and no one listens to what Chuck says. Dufus!

LOL! Yeah, he's pretty clueless. He even said to the doctor in front of Tyler that he's sure Tyler will be all caught up to grade level in a year and will no longer need special ed or accommodations. :headache: Tyler remembers everything and takes everything so seriously, so he WILL remember his dad saying that and will be down on himself if this doesn't happen. That puts so much pressure on Tyler. His teacher has always said she predicts that by the time he reaches high school he probably won't need full time special ed any more but will always need some help.

I'm feeling a bit down today.....tomorrow is my 55th birthday. It reminds me of my 50th. I wanted to do some special plans of seeing a play in NYC and eating at Tavern on the Green. I had to "postpone" our plans coz mom was very sick and in and out of hospitals. I couldn't leave her even for a weekend. Well we never got to the city to do my plans. Now Tavern on the Green doesn't even exist anymore and I'm not sure I'll ever get back to seeing a Broadway show. Now that 55 is here.....it's another milestone and I have nothing planned. It's just another day. I know I should pamper myself and all that.....I just don't feel like it. It's a no frills birthday this year.

Aw Deb, lots of hugs! We'll all celebrate on the Hawaii cruise! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

:cheer2: :flower3: HAPPY. BIRTH. SEASON. :yay: !!! :) :wizard:

Start now to count all the fun stuff you are planing for the next 365 days as celebrations of YOU !!

Dinner at Jack Creeks -- DEB'S BIRTH CELEBRATION

The last doll for the collection -- DEB'S BIRTH CELEBRATION

The cruise to Hawaii-- DEB'S BIRTH CELEBRATION

A quiet day to rest and watch shows you saved-- DEB'S BIRTH CELEBRATION

You take it from here! I know you can!

YEAH! Listen to Jan, she's right!

Things are better for him now, overall. A week ago he earned a certificate for having great days all week! He hasn't received one of those since the 3 in a row he got the first 3 weeks of school, so he was pretty excited! :thumbsup2
Yesterday was such a rough day for him that they had to keep him out of the "regular" 4th grade classroom. But that was just caused by excitement over the annual Christmas electric light parade/fireworks/tree lighting celebration he knew we were going to last night with my mom coming to town to join us. He doesn't handle anticipation over upcoming exciting events well and usually has a hard time getting through the day.

He's working through sadness over not being picked to participate in the 4th grade Christmas program at school, so that's rough because he's not taking it well. He tried his hardest to practice singing, but didn't make the cut. For a kid who already has major self esteem issues, it was a big blow for him. :(

An appreciative audience is needed for any stage production! If everyone was on the stage, who would clap? I would rather be in the audience--less pressure about mistakes. When I did not make the cut for acapella girls ensamble in college my Dad was upset but I was relieved.

And

:woohoo: For the GOOD WEEK CERTIFICATE :cheer2:

Deb, have a wonderful birthday today. I hope you have a lovely time and the men in your life spoil you.

As it turns out....my husband did spoil me, but all the other men in my life did just the opposite. Tom made it one of the worst times of my life. We found out that he stole jewelry and a coin collection. He wiped us out completely. He confessed to it when I said that both boys would have to leave if no one stepped up and told the truth. Kris looked at Tom and said are you going to tell her because if you don't I will. Then Tom confessed that he did took everything. He pawned all the jewelry in Florida and he went to a change machine with the collection. He said he needed the money to party with his friends while in Florida for Halloween.

Tom got kicked out on the spot with just a bag of clothes. We locked the door behind him, first time ever since moving into this house. Now all the doors are locked. We will never see him again. We know from him texting his brother that he is staying with a friend locally.

Now we have to keep a keen eye on his brother. If he didn't take anything, he certainly knew about it.

what about pink cupcakes at the Champagne Girl extravaganza on the Hawaii cruise? I can chip in on that or we could add it to the cost per head. :confused3

That's a wondeful idea. Thanks Jan. I'll request them when I explain what I'll need when setting it all up.

Kudos to Tyler on the certificate!!

Is there something he can do to help w/ the program? like had out programs or do something back stage? If so, then you could explain that it takes a lot of help off stage to get a show together.

Very boring weekend.

not for me :goodvibes Twilight was great! Can't believe we now have to wait another year for the next movie.

I met with Karen (Kaz aka Custardtart) yesterday at DTD. We had some Ghiradelli's & did some shopping.

Did some more rearranging in the bedroom & hope to have 1 bin/hamper empty of the clean clothes before I leave on Thursday for MD. I'll be gone until Tuesday.

It's the Christmas program that's put on for the parents to go see. All the kids want their parents to see them in it. Most 9 year olds sing horribly, that's what makes it cute. ;) I just think they're too young to be judged by how well they sing if they're not given a chance to practice. The ones left behind are sad when the others get to go practice every day.I guess I'm just remembering how it was when I was in elementary school. 4th grade would all do a program for their parents, 5th grade did their own program for their parents on another night, and so on. :( One more let down in his life.

Deb, what the heck? How could he do this, after everything you and John have done for him? I'm shocked and speechless!
