It's great to see people popping back in on this thread!:thumbsup2

Jill, I think of you and Matt often. We enjoyed dining with you on the PC cruise.:goodvibes

Cheri, I have always meant to mention how much Harry and I enjoyed our visit with you in Cove Cafe.:goodvibes

I guess I am about the only person left who doesn't facebook.:confused3

Hugs to all.:grouphug:

Popping in to say hi. :goodvibes I wish I could stop by more, but life gets in the way:confused3 For some reason, FB is just easier to stay in touch with...they text me with anything new and important for me to know...and in my life...the squeaky wheel gets noticed!!! :lmao:
Hope everyone is doing well......

Hi to everyone who has returned!!! :goodvibes

Matt... I'm hoping very much that mom and I will be seeing you soon!

Kaylee... ;)

Just spending the day cleaning.. I guess you could sort of call is spring-ish cleaning.. lots of dusting...
achoo.gif
Sneezing lots... I can see my floor and I'm sorting clothes to see what can go to the mission store.

We can see a patch of green on my lawn!!!:banana::banana: But it's from where my brother shoveled out to give us an emergency exit if we needed (I tried to tell him I expected to crawl on snow if something happened....)

We found out what is coming to Proctors next year... Jersey Boys... La Cage Au Faux... Shrek... Memphis and a few others. They really have done an incredible job of bringing in current broadway shows. I could NEVER get to see these shows in NYC without paying an arm and a leg (and that would just be for parking!!!) Lion King has been an incredible success!! They sold over 80,000 tickets for a 5 week run. A good boost for the city. :thumbsup2

I went to see The Adjustment Bureau this afternoon. I really liked it. I thought it was very original!

Spent a good part of today going through old family photos, looking for certain ones that I want to make copies/enlargements of to put up in my living room. There are now piles of photos in both bedrooms and the living room. It really enjoyed seeing lots of them, some I hadn't looked at in 15-20 years. Now I've got to scan the ones I want to display.

My taxes are almost ready to take to the accountant. I just need to add up some figures and put numbers in boxes. I want to turn them in tomorrow--hope I actually do!:headache:

Cheri, I've been waiting to hear a review for The Adjustment Bureau:thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed it! Sounds like a lot of fun going through old photos :goodvibes Someday I'll get around to it!

I did a rough copy of my taxes, just need to fill it out in good and mail it off, I should be receiving some money back if I haven't made an error :cool1:

Donna...you are not the only person who doesn't facebook :rolleyes1

I'm having computer problems again, actually it's a problem with my moniter :headache: I don't have the time to deal with it right now...hoping it will just smarten up until after the upcoming cruises, but I'm not holding my breath :sad2:

You're gonna regret saying that. I'll telling Tyler! That will make you his new best friend, LOL! It's one of his favorite games! ;)

When we lived in Barstow we used to have game night every couple of weeks and Cranium was always a polpular choice.

You should see Darrell's version of a chocolate chip cookie!! :lmao::rotfl2:

Thanks Holly.. but I'm gonna get the guts up to say it myself...

and argue all you want.. you know it's true...

THIS THREAD DIES BECAUSE OF FACEBOOK!!!

& yes... I agree that FB does serve a purpose...it is nice to see pictures and everything... but ever since everyone has gone over there.. this thread has lost it's intimacy. Anyone remember when we used to go through everyday things TOGETHER??? When we celebrated holidays and accomplishments, births, weddings, everything together.

We shared stories too... when was the last time we heard about Ian's sunday Mornings? Jackies adventures to the movies? How many times Cherie's been to DL this year???

WE USED TO TALK!!!!

We talked about things you couldn't over on FB.. Yes...it's still a public forum, but not as public as FB... It was thieves stuff...

Come on... we planned and over planned trips together in the past on these threads.. I've barely heard or read anyone's plans for LA & Alaska and sure... I'm not on the cruise and I'm sure some planning is going on over on the other threads, but WE ARE THIEVES!!! Hasn't anyone even linked dining yet???

Anyway... I'll get back off my soap box now... :rolleyes1

I realized when my posting over here died off was when our B2B for Alaska became four threads and I cound't keep up with all of them so I kind of stopped keeping up with any thread on the DIS.

I figure now someone will let me know if I miss something key on one of those threads so I'm only going to try and keep up with this thread :goodvibes

I've decided that over the summer I'm going to scan in all the pics from my grandmother and grandfather and then make discs and give them to all of the family... I hope that will stop everyone from fighting over who gets the family pics... everyone gets at least copies of them ..:thumbsup2

I have a large collection of old slides that need to be scanned so if you run let me know and I'll send them your way :rotfl2:

Lisa, what didn't you like about it?

I found a few holes in the plot - which turned into bigger holes as we talked about it driving home. Darrell didn't think the plot holes mattered and he got the ending he wanted. I was actually bored about half way throgh the movie. Plus it really isn't as much sci-fi as they made it out to be in the previews.

Oh and I think there should be a rule that a preview can't have any clips from the second half of any movie. I like previews but it seems like more and more they give away the whole movie. Especially when they keep releasing new versions of the preview that have totally different scenes.

It has been a beautiful sunny day here today! I went shopping, picked up a pair of waterproof, windproof pants for Alaska...you know, just in case ;) I also bought a couple of more books to take away with me next month...ever hopeful that I actually might find time to read:rotfl2:

After I was back home, Sara met me after work and we went for a nice long walk :goodvibes

I'm training someone at work this week, so it will be a long week, but I need to know I have enough people trained to cover me for the three weeks Ill be away!

I hate when there are too many holes in the plot too, I expect movies to make sense and to be realistic, which of course doesn't happen much of the time

Cheri, did you find the same thing somewhat? It is March break here for students, and I am trying to come up with a good movie to take a 14 and 18 yr old to :confused3

I picked up a waterproof coat and some long sleeve layering t-shirts. I need to find a few pair of jeans.

You need a Kindle than you don't need to pack any books :)

I know a lot of people love their Kindles! I actually think it would be REALLY handy for vacations...but I love the "feel" of the pages and holding a proper book in my hands. I know...this from a person who doesn't facebook :upsidedow
