Well I will have the print outs for Barcelona anyway and I don't plan doing a Panama Canal cruise anytime soon. I wonder if they need them for the normal cruises in general now then?

To be fair to the cruise lines the airports had had a year or so change over time from the old green form we had to do on the flight over. For a while we had to do both until the system was in place and working. I guess nobody thought about cruises!

I guess we will just have to keep waiting to see what annoying little thing they will add for us travellers next.:headache:

We didn't need our ESTA printouts for the Maiden voyage although I had brought them with me after the Barcelona trauma

Ann

Albert, I am actually thinking OF wearing baggy shorts with big stuffed pockets just so I can miss the bag search guys.

Corinna was caught out as she didn't even have their ESTA numbers with them. They were in line after us but I guess they would have had to reapply from the beginning(and pay again of course:mad:) The worry with that of course is the occasional 'pending' you get.

The immigration guys are much better than they used to be, though you still feel like a criminal. I think it is just the overall feeling if being treated like a criminal/terrorist until proved otherwise that is the upsetting thing.

The security folk are bad though. I think they have a bit of a jobsworth thing going on with them to be honest.

Not had an obnoxious pat down yet but had our first scan at San Diego airport last week. The security folk there were really nice though. Makes a change.

Oh and don't get me started on some of the Disney bag search folk. Some really think they are the most important folk in Disney! We all know more things can go through in those big baggy short pockets than they would ever find in an elderly lady's handbag/purse! Makes my blood boil.

Who're you calling elderly??? :confused3

Few years until you have to worry, unless you have taken to wearing baggy shorts. :yay::yay::yay:

Maz... don't... you know baggy shorts make your hips look big... :rotfl::rotfl:

GREAT.... Disney's first full body search... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Don't get into trouble Marilyn... 3 weeks in FL with nothing to do than go to Universal and seaworld is a LONG time...

No... they won't let you into Disneyland either...

Albert, I might just wear them for you!

Michelle. One time last tip there was an obvious new very young guy doing bag search at one of the parks. There was me, elderly;-), with a small handbag, and he was jobsworth beyond belief. So serious:lmao: He made be take the strap down off my shoulder, open every single pocket and zip in my kettle bag etc, whilst all these scruffy guys went through the non bag line with stuffed short pockets which pulled their shorts even further down their backsides than even they must have wanted. I was a trifle mad by then after waiting in line too.

I think next time you should make John carry everything...

Might I suggest a really strong belt?

Just a quick note, my lunch hour is over, headed back to work, but.......

I'm doing the PIF dance! Just made final payment on the LA to Vancouver portion, so both cruises are paid in full! Woohoo!

Now, to work on airfare. Piece by piece, I'm getting there!

Congrats!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

It's a wonderful feeling! I was worried about making it happen and sooooooo wanted to make it work. Like you, Michelle, our last cruise was the Panama Canal one and we're both almost too excited for words! Tyler called me today and I told him the good news and he was yelling "YEAH!!! YES!!! AWESOME!!" :rotfl2: He's having a rough school year, so the break will be so good for him. :thumbsup2 I'll still have him do schoolwork every day, since he's improving so much academically, I'd hate to have him lose ground, but it's the break from the school environment that will be good for him. :goodvibes

Did you ever stop to think for ONE second that those of us who took those pictures might just want to be the ones to decide which ones we post on the Dis!!!!!!!

I already told Michelle that it's ok for her to post my pics over here for Kathe. If I posted them on FB then there's no reason why I wouldn't post them here. Michelle is just helping me out so I don't have to do it while still away.

I understand what you're saying though Bubba. As long as Shell asks first it should be fine. I know that I told her it was ok to do mine.

Thanks Michelle. :) No worries. I've been there before and Heather is from the area, so we've got it covered.

Got a phone call today from the TA, because of a promo going on where kids are free for the Alaska cruise in window and veranda rooms, we're getting a window for $400 less than the inside room! Of course that means we now have to switch rooms in Vancouver, it's worth the hassle for the good deal. Yay! :) So we're in 5137 (i think) for LA to VAN and 1058 for Alaska.

YEAHHHHH.....on the LA you'll be right down the hall from me and Lisa and Darrell. I'm in 5122 and Lisa and Darrell are two doors down in 5126 I believe. We'll all be neighbors.:banana::banana::banana:

For some reason I thought we were at 250 and needed to start a new thread. Guess I'm snowed in and have no idea. hahaha.

Holly....so glad you're PIF. Isn't it a great feeling!!!!

I'm having a huge dilemma and need some input from my Champagne Girls. We are having another one on the LA/Alaska. We were going to do it on the LA but now with people cancelling and changing plans, I think it's best to do it on the Alaska. At this point I have been getting a lot of feedback and now I would like to know, How would you like to see us do the next Champagne Girls? I have been told that we don't need another Sommelier. Should we just taste different champagnes and not talk about them or learn about them? I agree that we need more time for us all to talk together. I really would like everyone's input. Please let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.

Deb, another 100 pages to go yet!!!!!

Hahahaha.....Marilyn, I just realized that.

What is your opinion of the Champagne Girls. You have seen it done many ways.

We will definitely have the tiaras and boas supplied for everyone. I'll go with fur and not feathers for the boas this time. But what should our format be?

Deb, I have only been to your Champagne Girls. I won't go to any others!! Just not right in my opinion!!!;)

This last cruise it was hard for those organising events to get any info from the Wonder. I think it was almost at sail date before the date and time etc was set. It was annoying as other things had been arranged. If only for that reason I would go with doing it yourself. However if you still have to book a venue then you will probably have the same problem. I think you could just enjoy tasting the Champagne now and not bother with the Somellier. I also think it was more expensive than the one we did.

I had a friend who went to the one on the WBTransatlantic which was everyone take a bottle and was held in one of the Dis'ers suite. She didn't stay long as she said it was a lot of high pitched female screeching which she doesn't enjoy even though she quite often gets tipsy herself and does enjoy a good time.;) However that shouldn't stop you planning a group like that:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2:

So if we do it exactly like we did it last time on the Tortola and just leave out the Sommelier then we should be good to go. I know that DCL likes to keep changing rooms, dates and times on us....right up to the last minute. But since I pay them, I try to get them to lock something in. I'll have John wear pink and come back to pour for us. He can tell us a little bit about the name and the place of the champagne that we're drinking without going long winded.

Thanks Marilyn. I think you have really helped make it clear for me. Now I know exactly what we will do. But I'm so sorry that you won't be with us to do it. The next one after the Alaska is going to be on the November Dream B2B cruise. Mandy and I will both attend for the first time. Are you sure you don't want to book that one and be a part of it. Hopefully we can do it in PINK and it will be spectacular.
