I think it is a real pain to be honest Karen and it is going to be a long time till the barbecue is ready too!!!!

They come included with your own host. I'm assuming that they will bring you whatever food and alcoholic beverage you request. All nonalcoholic beverages are included. I think if you're sharing the cost with other friends, it's worth it.

I can understand why it's not worth it to you and John, Marilyn. If you're just off the boat to take a walk and have some lunch.....it wouldn't be beneficial to you. It's only worth it if you're going to spend the day on the beach. That's JMHO.

So....I fell asleep earlier while watching football games and now I'm wide awake. I get my best naps during football season. haha.

I have just three weeks until we leave and I'm thinking about packing already. I'm leaning towards taking two weekender bags and forgetting about the big suitcase. I have all short intervals on this trip....4 nights at WDW, 4 nights on a cruise, 3 nights on a cruise, 5 nights at WDW and 2 nights in Ft. Lauderdale. As long as it's clean, I can repeat clothing. I can do laundry if needed before or after cruise. Since we're driving not flying, I think it might be easier for handling in and out of the car.

We're going to Ft. Lauderdale to see John's step brother. He has some personal items to give John from his Dad who passed away nearly 20 years ago. They came into Henry's posession when his mother passed....John's step mom, who John was never close with. She and John's Dad moved to Albequerque when John's kids were little. So they lost touch with each other. But John's Dad was a retired NY police officer in Nassau County Long Island. Henry has John's Dad's shield to give to John. It means a lot to John and he would like to have it. Henry always intented to mail it to us, but never did. Now we're planning on sharing a meal with him at his house before heading home. Now it will happen. So we're going to Ft. Lauderdale too.

Hi Deb! :flower3:

Hey has anyone heard from Kathe this week?

Hi Shell. I should have known that you would be awake too. Ha.

No. I have not seen Kathe for quite some time. She kind of disappeared when Shannon and Ken got busy with the moving. I don't remember seeing her since then. Do you?

I got my cruise documents for both cruises now. It's the same binder that we got in January when we were concierge. I thought it was because we were concierge. I guess not. They're nice.

Me and John realized that this is the last time we have to take a number at the port. It's a B2B so for the second cruise we'll do the walk off and on again. Then we'll be Platinum. YEAH!!!!

I'm somewhat annoyed because Casey doesn't have his passport yet. He only applied for it two weeks ago. I'm leaving in three weeks and have to finish my online check in. I don't want any hold ups in the terminal.

You all are the only ones who understand how this can be a little annoying....not getting it done already. My ex sis in law, Jane, thinks that if it gets here in time, it's good enough. Fortunately, if it does not....he can use his birth certificate since it's only the Bahamas that we're going to. I just hate that my paperwork is not done.

Ok... I'm posting this here just in case anyone else missed it on FB...

Yeah... we all know what that's like....

My brother Kenney, would be like that... and was when May went on the cruise with my other brother Timmy... I called and made sure he knew and then he was running all over to get her passport renewed because he thought it was good for 10 years but it was only for 5 because she was under 18 still... :sad2: (which then prompted the panic in the family to check every elses...) I like to cause panic...:rotfl:

Mostly everyone just ignores my advice (little sister syndrome) but I do like it when I get it right... :dance3:

Here's my current dilemma....the weight loss issues....Originally on WW I lost 40 lbs. Then I went off program last year during the holidays and then had some thyroid issues and gained it all back. Since then, I lost half of it again. So I'm currently 20 lbs. lost since my original weight. I don't have clothes for this weight. I have the larger sizes and I have the new smaller sizes. I have nothing inbetween. UGH! So I just thought that I would wear the larger sizes, but they'll be loose and comfey.:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Wear whatever you are comfortable in... it's your vacation... :thumbsup2

And if you think you need anything else... almost EVERYTHING is on clearance now from the summer...

Mine and John's are due for renewal Sept 2011. Our first cruise was two and a half weeks after 911. We'll have to renew as soon as we get back from Alaska in May because we're cruising again on the Dream in November. It's really a tough year when you have to plan renewing your passport inbetween your cruising. haha.

I bought new clothes every two sizes not every size. I have so much stuff, I'm not buying anymore. I'll just be loose and comfey. haha.;)

works for me...

Well... I'm headed to bed...

night Deb! :cloud9:

& of course...

Morning Marilyn and Deborah!!! :flower3:

Deb, I just meant with not getting off the ship till 11.15 as we don't dock till then this time, that it might not be worth the cost, not that a sharing group wouldn't on a normal CC day. The food for the barbecue won't be off the ship much before then, though i know it is almost the first thing off.

Yes, I see what you mean....a shortened day for that price is not worth it. I agree. Maybe they will discount them for that day for that reason. You won't know unless you ask. :confused3

Well Karen might try and see what it will cost. Of course they might not bother with the time ashore being so short. I do think it will be nice for a group as long as they bring you 'free' food!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Morning all!

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I did my 1st 5k on Saturday (AIDS walk St Petersburg) with Will & Mickey - we did it in 1 hr and 6 minutes with no break. It was VERY slow going at the beginning - too many people, plus we had to stop 2 times for traffic. Next 5k is on the 2nd of October - hope to make up some time there.

DEB---when is the decision going to be made as to whether or not Casey gets to go??? Just trying to see what/when I need to plan.

Safe travels to all that are headed to Barcelona to bring our ship home :)

Can't believe we're just about 1/2 way thru September already! :scared1::eek:

Deb, when you are on the ship in three weeks, double check with them about your passport. I thought I had read somewhere that your passport is supposed to be valid for six months PAST your travel date. So you may need to renew before the Alaska cruise. Check with DCL and also ask when you go through customs (maybe in the middle of the B2B, as there won't be a crowd of people when you go through). It may not be an issue because the spring cruise is Canada though. :confused3

Well done to you Monica!!!

We are off tomorrow, so thanks for the good wishes. Almost done everything now.

Popping on to say hello!

Congrats Monica on your 5k! :cool1:

Ken & I are now moved over to his parents place until we go into our new house. And we have wireless internet again, so I might manage to get on her more regularly!

Life has been crazy busy trying to get the old house ready to sell. Everything is taking us longer than expected. And of course weather hasn't cooperated. We are starting to see an end at least, but it'll probably be 2 more weekends going down there (one to finish the reno work, and one to finish cleaning!).

I'm really enjoying the new job and now I must get moving so I can get to it.

Hope you are all doing great. I'm hoping to get online tonight :goodvibes
