Good morning.
So pleased your mom is doing so well. I guess she is relieved now. When I was young, and your mom is older of course so it would have been the same, you didn't wear sun screen at all. In fact when I was about 7 I was a sickly child and was sent for 'Sun Ray' treatment, i.e. I stood almost naked in front of an ultra violet lamp. I also had strong ultra violet lamp treatment on my face for acne when I was a teen. Ladies used oil or a rich basic skin cream on their skin to encourage a sun tan!!! I am surprised we are all still alive.
I know I was one of the first people I knew who used suncream regularly and was laughed at quite a bit.
Now, getting John to use any was a big problem as it just wasn't manly.
He used to work on a building site in his holidays and they just got burnt until they could stand the sun!!! Over the years he has improved and does use it. Anyway of course he has just had a skin cancer removed so hopefully he will be more careful.
You are such a good mom and friend Holly!!
Oh wow, and I bet you are a great grandma to these boys too.
My grandsons both read the books so should love the film.
Good news. Well done for nagging him Holly.
She's doing really good... I'm surprised...
She got home last night - I picked up some chinese because she likes their egg drop/wonton soup... little did I know how starving she was... she ate two plates!!!
she looks like aat the moment... (has a patch over the eye...) Have offered to get her a sequined one to wear out
I caught her up on the step stool this morning.. (one eyed...) (can't keep a good woman down, I told Ian...
)
Other than some Motrin, she's not really in any pain. I guess your eyelid doesn't have alot of nerve endings.
It was a really bad skin cancer. She will freely admit that she is a stubborn pain in the A$$ about getting things done so it is her fault. She had to go to the MOHS surgeon at one medical center and then the Plastic Surgeon over at Albany Med. (that's our big medical center up here...) We were VERY lucky to have had two very well known surgeons up here to get the help.
she will tell EVERYONE to use sunscreen now... (which her grandchild will not do...Maysie thinks the darker the tan the better...
) Mom used to tan back when they used iodine to get tan with and she's paid for it.
On the nice side. she has been showered with some flowers from my siblings!!! A little bit of spring has arrived in our living room![]()
She's asked me to thank EVERYONEfor all the love and good wishes... It has made her feel very good!!!

Another 8 to 8 day. Going in at 8am tomorrow again. But only working until noon because I'm picking Tyler up to go see "Hop".He's never been gone from me for 2 weeks, so I figured it would break up the 2 weeks so he's not going that whole time without seeing me. I know he was worried about in all day Sunday before his dad picked him up. He kept hugging me all day, and he's NOT a hugger. I never get hugs anymore. And when his dad picked him up, he kept coming back up the sidewalk to hug me a few times as they were trying to leave.
Then I might try to go back to work afterwards, I'll have to see how tired I am. I don't want Jan to come back to work and get stressed out by how much work is there. She needs to stay healthy for when I'm on vacation soon.

Well.........Serenity was my first....
My son, Serenity's dad, has been with his girlfriend for a couple of years now, she moved to Ontario (they had met in Alberta) about a year and a half ago. She has 3 sons so I now have 3 grandsons as well![]()

I'll let you know about "Hop". Yes, we saw "Diary of a Wimp Kid 2" last weekend and both loved it! It was hilarious, but almost made me cry at the end (but in a good way). GREAT movie. I didn't expect to like it.
My grandsons both read the books so should love the film.
Thanks. I called them both this morning. Jan is still easily tired but feels like she'll be able to come back to work Monday.
Jayson said they were doing all kinds of tests on him but that he felt better. He and I emailed each other back and forth all day and he was to be released this evening. He says it was a big wake up call and he's grateful to be walking out of there. Says he was told he has lots of weight he needs to lose and has to completely change his eating habits. I'm glad he's ok for now though. He has a wonderful wife and adorable twin boys turning 2 in June who need him around. I need him at work because he makes me laugh every day.![]()
