I agree with what Kathe said - :grouphug: & :wizard: to both of you.

Holly - is Tyler with his dad? A blessing if that is the case. Please let us know what the Dr says.

Left my cell phone today at home, so hopefully no one needs to reach me :rotfl:

My baby girl had her 4th bday yesterday...can you believe it??? I got to talk to her in the morning and she was super excited that she's now 4. Lisa did tell me that she asked if I was coming up for her bday....sniff sniff....wish I could have been there, but after last year's snowstorm I didn't even try.

Things are getting back to "normal" at work. Talks are heating up about our trip to London (I leave 3 weeks from tomorrow) - looks like they've finally squared away our accommodations, and they're trying to work out the schedule of the 1 day that all of us are together. 4 people go 9-13, 3 people go 11-15.

What else??? Nothing happening here....it's just been work, work, work  (I ended up working 88hrs on the conference Saturday-Saturday). Hope to do some scrapbooking (and learning how to use the Cricut) this Saturday.

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS day!! I'll try to check in later :flower3:

I'm a medical mystery right now. A trip to urgent care, super antibiotic shot, strong daily antibiotics given to take daily, extreme pain, and will be back to see the doctor at 8am.

Wednesday morning I woke up hours before my alarm clock feeling like I'd slept with my right earlobe kinked or something. When I finally got up and saw myself in the bathroom, I knew something was wrong. My lower earlobe was swollen, red and huge, my lymph node on that side was the size of a golf ball, so I assumed a spider bit me while I was sleeping. It was so painful and throbbing, I left work sometime early morning to run out and ft some Benadryl, thinking I was having an allergic reaction to the supposed spider bite. Got worse throughout the day, Benadryl did nothing, it kept swelling and spreading. When I started feeling nauseous and shakey, I knew I had to get to a doctor. My doctor couldn't get me in yesterday, so I went right to urgent care.

I kept swelling on the way. By the time I got there, I had a temp of 102, my whole outer ear was swollen and red, in front of my ear it was red and swollen spreading to my cheek, I was no longer nauseous, but very dizzy and while I was with the doctor I felt it start to move to my inner ear. The doctor saw no bite marks, no scratch, no sore of any kind and was at a loss. Because of how fast it's spreading and how large my lymph node is, he told me he's worried that it might move into my bones or brain, so he told me I absolutely have to follow up with my regular doctor in the morning so they can explore other options if I haven't started improving. He told me the shot he gave me is such a strong antibiotic and so is the oral one, so strong that he said it should stop the progression of the infection in it's tracks. It has not. The spreading has slowed, but the swollen areas have swollen lots more and it's now affected my hearing. So I will be at the doctor's office when it opens.

Went to bed at 7pm because whatever's going on wore me out. Just got up now to get more Benadryl. This is freaky how it came out of nowhere. Wish me luck please.

Holly... if they can't figure something out at your regular Dr. and it gets worse... get your self to the ER Please.... I know you worry about money... but being really sick will be more worrisome than that...

Hugs... :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

ps... mom's fine... :thumbsup2

Wow, your baby girl is 4 already :cutie: Amazing how fast time goes, isn't it! Sorry you couldn't make the trip to see her for her birthday, but glad you got to talk to her. Sometimes you can have a better visit when it isn't a special occasion, less busy and more time to sit and actually visit.

You sound busy, busy, busy! You must be getting excited about your next upcoming trip :cool1: I hear ya about cutting back on trips. I just have one this year...but it is 3 weeks long so I know I'll enjoy it while it lasts. I'll only be doing one trip next year too. Hawaii would be great but we'll see....

I haven't been doing much here except working lately. We did take Serenity to a skating party that work put on and had a lot of fun last weekend. She only skated for a few minutes then wanted off the ice...thought it was way to slippery :upsidedow She had fun decorating cookies and visiting the animals in the barn. She sang Baa Baa Black sheep to the sheep then the sheep all starting bleeting . You should have seen Serenity's expression when that happened  She loves Toy Story 3 so was quite taken with seeing the donkeys too! It was a fun day.

Yes, fortunately he's at his dad's this week. Good timing, luckily.

So another shot today, this time Depo Medrol. Dr. thinks it's probably cellulitis, but she's not sure, so she wants to see me Monday to see if it gets better. She told me if it continues to spread before then, go straight to the ER. She also gave me a prescription for Vicodin for pain, so I'm at the pharmacy waiting for that. I'm not going to work today, I'm in too much pain. She couldn't even look inside that ear with her scope to see how far it has spread inside because the outside opening is almost swelled shut.

You know it's bad when the doctor walks in and says "Oh my gosh, WHAT IS THAT?" :rotfl2:

Too cute about Serenity and the sheep! :rotfl2:

I'm dreading getting my doctor bills for yesterday and today. And Monday too. Fortunately, I already talked to them about a payment plan and they're fine with that. Whew!

Good job you can do virtual laughing Holly!!:lmao: Goodness me, they will be bringing the students in to view you soon. I hope you manage to rest some today. Don't go into work tomorrow either if necessary.

Keep us informed - prayers continued out for you  Hope you're able to get some sleep w/ the meds.

Well, I told our office manager I might go in to work around noon tomorrow and just work a half day, but I'm not going in at all if the pain is still there. So I'll see how I feel in the morning.

One of the guinea pigs has had a cough for a few days, and now today his breathing is wheezy. Respiratory infections are usually fatal for guinea pigs. He made it through one when he was a baby, but I suspect he won't make it through this one. :sad2:

This is not a good week.

Thanks. It's extremely painful and throbbing. I tried to eat a banana this morning but the movement of chewing was too painful because whatever is going on has spread that far. My office manager at work told me to ask if it's a staph infection. I hope not!

I just found out from my doctor that I have cellulitis again o my left leg. I have had it in my ear before. Isn't it nice to share.

I take medrol and vicodin too. It is definitely cellulitis. The fun part is knowing that it is recurring. This is my fifth time getting it. Oh what fun.

Oh no Deb, not your leg again. :headache: So sorry.

I didn't realize you've had it in your ear, I thought it was always the leg. :guilty:

The Vicodin cut the pain about 1/2 way, and I was able to sleep 4 hours, so that's good. I checked when I woke up and the swelling has finally stopped spreading! It doesn't look better, but since it's not still spreading, I must be on the mend. Looks like the shot today did it's job.

What's strange is that I never had a cut to get infected, so I'm not sure how this happened. :confused3

Michelle!! What are YOU doing up so early?? :lmao: Definately not on your "regular" schedule. Hope you're having a good morning!

Don't worry... I went back for a nap... :rotfl:
