The surgery went well, they did take the lymthnodes :sad2: which means the cancer did spread. maybe by friday we'll have the biopsy results that will give us the staging - which is how long she has. We won't be doing and chemo or raditation as it is truely a quality of life choice for her.

I'm sad :sad1:

So - today not so good. Sis got mom all settled in her nursing care and within an hour of sis leaving mom pulled out her drain. The maint of the drain was why she was in nursing care. So she is home and will have to be taken to the doctor to have the fluid removed as it accumulates. Which is more risk of infection and painful to endure the removal of course.

And lastly the worst part of the whole thing was dealing with my sisters. One of them had the nerve to complain that she didn't know what was going on with mom and her surgery. It isn't enough that we take care of mom now we have to translate everything for the know nothing  If she wants more info she can drag her sorry butt to the doctor appointments. I tell ya no more room in my life for this kinda bs.

and Paul likes his job - has his own office with a window :flower3:

Nan :grouphug: I'm so sorry...not an easy place to be in life :sad1: This is not the time for your sisters to be spatting. I'm sorry they are not being more supportive of both you and your mom.

I am glad to hear Paul likes his new job and office with a window :thumbsup2

I'm better today... laid low last night after going to Jacks... I think the sugar in my system helped... I've been watching what I've been eating so I'm not sure if I needed a little boost or not...

I've also been watching which meds to take... some are making me loopy and sleepy and they are not helping...

Hi Michelle :yay:

Glad you're having a better day

Jumping on to get caught up after a crazy few days.

Ian - sorry about the shock of losing your friend.

Nan - sorry for the stress around your mom's and hope the biopsy comes back good. happy that Paul likes his office

Michelle - hope you project is finally working out for you.

Holly / Deb - If you want some great ribs, you should try "the Purple Pig" in downtown Toronto. Best ribs we've ever had and huge portions!

Hi Marilyn, Jan, Monica, Jackie, Kathe, Kaz, Bubba & V! I'm sorry if I missed anybody, I'm getting sleepy.

Hi Shannon! Thanks for finding a few minutes in your busy life to pop in to say hi

Did you find out yet about the jobs you were interviewing for?

My plans of being productive today failed. I was going to pull weeds in the front yard and then do some cleaning. But I had to go to the grocery store after work and by the time I got home, I needed to eat supper, then it was getting dark and the bugs were starting to come out. Oh well......we were so busy over the weekend, and I was pretty productive yesterday after Tyler left, I deserve a rest. :thumbsup2

Yes, you do deserve a rest Holly :thumbsup2

It was my day off yesterday and I had all sorts of plans, but only accomplished about half :guilty: I figure I needed the rest too though, and deserved it :thumbsup2

I was off on Sunday but had Brian and his family over for dinner, and that was good but very busy! I had said on Sunday I might take a couple of the kids to a small amusement park here in town yesterday but they were calling for 70% chance of rain and I was tired Monday night so I cancelled. I felt guilty then yesterday, especially when it didn't rain at all! Oh well, I did get some weeding done. I must have looked tired to my neighbour, after weeding I came in for dinner and when I looked outside again he had cut the grass in my front yard:thumbsup2 And, no, it wasn't horribly long so it didn't really look too bad. I think he was just helping out since he was out doing his anyway:goodvibes

Hi Shannon, the Purple Pig sounds great, but we only have two nights. We're doing the Hard Rock on Friday and the Spaghetti Factory with PJpoohbear....another thief.....on Saturday night. But I will definitely keep it in mind for our next visit. Thanks.

Spaghetti Factory is good! Original one is in Vancouver BC, we took the girls there in February. :goodvibes

Well... Uncle Frank is not doing good... he has pnemonia... no surgery...

I'm sort of caught in between hoping he gets better and hoping that if God takes him it will be peaceful... I actually prayed for that last night.

First one I got a call yesterday asking me to send them the contact information for references. So that's looking very promising, if there's enough money to afford the move. Feeling nervous right now, and its been hard to stay focussed at work.:sad2:
Second one was supposed to contact me this week to set up an interview, so hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

I'm a rum and coke girl but the drink I was having this night was a Bahama Mama - oj, pinapple juice, grenadine, some other stuff...and rum
Google is your friend :thumbsup2

Deb- I'm sorry I didn't call you back yesterday. Just so very tired. I txt replied to those who txted but I had called you so I didn't have that on my list to "reply"

Yup, I was just thinking "next time"! :thumbsup2 Jayson at work told me Canada's Wonderland is awesome if we had a whole day (big amusement park), but I told him I'll do that another time. He said they have a good deal where the 2 day pass is only a few dollars more than a single day, so I'd rather do it when I can spend 2 days there (even though he did say the 2nd day can be used at a later time, I think for a couple months).

OK here's something very strange that happened to me yesterday. I was downloading my emails and I got almost 700 of them dating back to February that I had never seen before. I called my provider today and you would think that I just told them I saw a UFO.....they were in complete denial that it happened. There is nothing wrong with my account. I told them that I was getting emails, just not all of them apparently. All they could say was call back if it happens again. Great. No help.

So let me apologize for past and present unanswered emails that you send me. I have to admit that I thought I was being dissed by Sue Ellen not getting back to me, Monica I had a lot from you that I didn't receive and some from others of you, I thought Linda (Brian's wife) was ignoring me by not answering my emails....now I feel horrible for thinking those things.
That's a very strange thing to happen!

.....talk about senior moments.

Jackie lets me know that it's time to send Gydell my info to get the private group dining at Palo. So I sent that off to Gydell only to get a note back saying that I have already done it....I was the first to respond. hahaha:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl: I do things like that A LOT! The most recent was sending a friend a message on FaceBook sending belated birthday wishes and telling her I was sorry I missed wishing her a happy birthday on the actual day. She responded by telling me I did indeed send her a happy birthday wish on the actual day, I just had absolutely no memory of doing it! ;)

Nan - sorry about your mom.

Just got back into town again so I'll try and catch up on everything else later. Hope everyone that isn't feeling well is doing better.

Here's my tip of the day thanks to the AARP newspaper that comes in the mail.

There are billions of dollars in unclaimed money and property that state and provincial treasures are obliged to hold.

There is a webiste you can go to www.unclaimed.org that will take you to the correct state or provincial (yes Canada too) government web sites.

As a lark, I tried it and uncovered dividends owed to my father. He passed away in 2003. I knew nothing about these. Not a fortune, but certainly money I knew nothing about, and better in my pocket than sitting in unclaimed property.

I suggest you try states/provinces in which you resided.

Thanks for the link... but darn... we still can't find where Hilly (my grandfather) hid the money... rumor has it, it's under the 9th green of the White Beeches Country Club...

Thanks for posting this Ian. I found some money....not a lot....that I am owed for car insurance in Long Beach, NY. They won't let me claim it online....I have to contact them. I'll do that tomorrow. Very cool!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

How old is Uncle Frank? What was the quality of his life before getting sick? All of this matters. He could fight this or not. A lot depends on his history.

This month is mom's birthday and anniversary of her death. She was 74 by only 2 weeks when she passed. That's not too old, but she was ready. So it was better to let her go and be in peace. They couldn't fix her anymore and she was tired of it all. It was a relief for her.

I understand what you're feeling. Hugs.:hug::hug::hug::hug:
