:woohoo:I'm happy to say I had FUN playing soccer. :thumbsup2 Its definitely better with the right shoes and shin guards so I wasn't worried about getting kicked, and it was easier to run. I started a C25K program about a month ago, and am enjoying that on my own. I figured between soccer and running, I'm going to get more fit!:goodvibes
Tomorrow I'm taking a vacation day to go for another job interview. I've interviewed with this company before for quality jobs similar to what I'm already doing and both times, they've ended up hiring from within instead. This time, its a temp accounting job for one year, so maybe they don't have anyone internal that wants it. I have low expectations for this one, but it'll be another learning experience.
Other job search news, I got an email from a company that I applied to last year, saying they had kept my resume from that one because they were intrigued by my industrial experience combined with the accounting, and are now looking for a more senior accountant and want to know if I'd be interested in an interview. So I said yes, and we'll see what happens.

Shannon, good for you for being so active! I'm glad you are enjoying the soccer :thumbsup2

Good luck at the interviews :wizard:pixiedust::wizard: I know you've been looking for a new job for a while now...everything happens for a reason. It's worth waiting for the right job for you. It WILL happen

Shannon - good luck on the interview - you can knock them dead. Remember play up your multi-tasking skills - that makes a good accountant in my book :thumbsup2

Paul got the job :thumbsup2

He starts next Tuesday - since he is with me for Mom on Monday :grouphug:

lots to figure out now with both of us at work we have to get the kids to and fro to their events and activities :yay:

Fantastic news. Say well done to Paul from John and me.:thumbsup2 I'm so so pleased for you.

I'm so impressed with you starting soccer Shannon. Like Holly I would have no idea where to start. also the running. You are getting very serious about fitness aren't you? It can only be good for you, well done.

Good news on the interview and also the firm that has asked you to interview with them. I hope the best one is the one you get!!

YEAHHHHHHHHH PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though it will cause a stir at home, what a relief that you can now sit back and relax a little. If you need to you can tell your job to shove it!!! hahaha.

Will be praying with you on Monday.

This sounds very promising Shannon. Persistence is the key. The right thing will come your way. Your hard work is paying off. I'm so happy for you, you deserve it. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Congratulations!

::yes:: much relief that sis is with mom - she truely could not do this alone - mom doesn't have the mental capacity anymore - so it's good that we are here - bad that sis isn't working that much - but I've come to realize that God has a plan for us to care for our parents - which has made our under employment over the last bit of time more bearable.

Paul had a good interview - time will tell....

::yes:: We have noticed that too, with parents and other situations. Pieces do not make sense and all of a sudden we realize that without them, the big picture would not be as comfortable.

I am a couple days behind here, but still praying for a good result on Paul's interview!

Hugs galor to Ian, Nan (for Mom):grouphug:

Hi to all my dear friends--super busy at work (haven't even had time to chat w/ Michelle on im) and internet has been down at home.

Looking forward to this weekend....scrapbooking all day Saturday.

Been trying to be better about exercise....my sis challenged me to the Princess 1/2 marathon in Feb (sorry if I already posted that)....went walking about the neighborhood Monday & yesterday. Am thinking of buying the annual pass again.....figure 1 turn around Showcase Lagoon is 1.1 miles - might as well walk around the parks, right?? :rolleyes1

That will also allow me to do any DIS meet inside the park again.

Congats to Paul! Good luck getting the kids transportation arranged...how many more years till Molly can drive? :lmao:

I read this and was all :cool1::dance3: and then I looked and its just a repeat so I was :sad1:. I'm happy Nathan finally managed to have a show that lasted a full season. I've liked other stuff he does, but it was always cancelled.

I was bummed to see it was reruns (just like the 'olden days' when all the shows were in reruns in the summer). I'm also glad he's in a show that is sticking as I really like him too. I just LOVED this seasons Halloween episode and his very familiar 'space cowboy' costume!

Congratualtions to Richard!!!!! Please pass that along Kaz....from me and John. I'm not sure that I even remember him being out of work. Was this his choice or a layoff?

With this news about Paul and Richard.....it looks like the economy might just be turning around. WOOHOO!!!!

This is good news for you Ian too. Since you'll be available for hire again soon. Wishing you a lot of luck. You and Shannon will find something great.

Nan, you should move on too. Something better for you is in store.

I tell her that every day when we sign off... sometimes I include Shamu...

Mom and I just went to Oliver's for a lovely lunch... she leaves tomorrow for her trip to the cape with my brother... she'll be gone for 9-10 days... I intend on cleaning out the garage as a surprise while she is gone... (yeah.. that really IS a surprise for her...:rotfl:)

Also... I MAY be having a guest next week... so I guess I'd better start cleaning... :scared1: (I hate cleaning... really I do...:sad2:)

But Marilyn... I really am allergic to cleaning... :scared1: I get very anxious about it... not that I can't do it... but I can sit there and look at a pile of stuff and not figure out where to put it or what to do with it... What seems very easy to someone else gets me stuck. Not to say that my house is a mess cause it isn't... I just have to figure out what to do with some clutter and stuff I have in boxes... I put stuff in boxes and forget about it... which really means I don't really need 1/2 the stuff and the other half... I find myself searching for things when I need them... :sad2:

Ohhh and I'm HIGHLY allergic to dust so I also get sinus troubles when I do alot... :sad1: :sad1:

Great Pics Gydell! :goodvibes Where did you get the Mickey bow tie?
