How is your cough?

We are sympathetic to your cough situation. We can't get rid of the cough either. It is quite frustrating. A good night's sleep would be wonderful.

Thanks for asking Cork. It did settle eventually. I really empathise with you and hope yours clears up super quick!

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around much. Long story short, our family has been passing colds and a GI bug around. As the Mom I have taken the biggest hit. I am going to try and read quickly and play catch up. Hope everyone else has been well.

Sorry to hear, hope you're all feeling better now!

It's worth asking the experts about it. I'll see what they say.

I did a search on recurring wound infections. I'm doing everything that they say to do. Two causes that they mention that I know I have are poor circulation and auto immune deficiency. Now we know why the infection keeps coming back but they don't mention what to do when you're doing everything they say and it still comes back. I know that it started with cellulitis and that cellulitis is recurring. I may never get rid of it for good.:scared1::confused:
Deb, this is so scary. Seems there must be something that can be done, perhaps just more experimenting by various doctors, but how awful for you to have to deal with constantly. Hoping and praying for an answer.:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Its another Monday and I'm at work earning a paycheque (well, not right this second, but its coffee break time)

Welcome home Kathe! :cool1:

Deb - hang in there!:grouphug:

Ian - enjoy your last week in NY before heading off on vacation :)

Hi to everybody!

Its a crazy start to the week for me. We live in a forestry based town, and the company I work for owns 2 sawmills, 2pulpmills, my MDF plant, and a plywood plant. Tonight, there's a dinner for anybody in a staff position and it'll be 3hours of food & speeches.
Tomorrow night there's an air quality meeting at city hall, and I'm supposed to be going, but my boss hasn't given me the details yet, which makes it difficult to figure out childcare.:headache:
And then Wed is a trial so its a crazy work week. And my department got downsized last week so we've got 3 people instead of 4, and 1 is on special assignment so we only get some of his time.

Uggghhh......Shannon, I don't envy your week. Here's hoping it passes quickly!

I agree. Deb, listen to Ken!!

Ok... listen up... I'm gonna say it... and I mean it this time...

KEN IS RIGHT!!!

This just simply deserves repeating.

I should get it engraved. I should get posters made up. I should get these printed on business cards so every time Shannon thinks otherwise I can give her a card.

:cool2:

I should have put an expiration date on that one... :lmao:

Like this message will self distruct as soon as Ken reads it... :rolleyes1

I join with you ;) leave my kids and husband :rotfl::rotfl:

See Marilyn... you already have a roommate... & we'll wrap you in Faux Fur and you can sit in the new cafe up by Cove and just stay warm, read a good book and stay warm...

(and we'll have Sukie deliver you coffee...)

Hope you're feeling better Corky!

YEAHHHHHHHH Emma comes home in just 3 weeks. You should have a party to celebrate. Oh, and I MISS NY pizza too....and deli rolls and bagels.

I'm not going into Philly. It's too inconvenient. I don't know the city and it's an hour in the opposite direction from John's work. Besides, I don't have an official diagnosis....just a story of progression. It's not even an open wound anymore....just not a smooth surface with an infection that refuses to go away.

Hope you had a good nap.

Then go to NY - or better... just go to NJUMD... John can drop you off on his way to work... they won't notice he's not around when he's with you at your appt... I'll have him paged to the other side of the hospital... they won't notice until he's back...

Thanks all....you're the best!!! It's hard because it's not an exact problem with a specific solution and medicine is not an exact science. Right now we're just speculating and trying different things to see what will work. It's all experimental. I'll keep trying until we find the one thing that will work. I won't give up. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement.

I found out that it was a mistake to soak and scrub the leg yesterday. Every time I have done it in the past, it has cleaned up nicely without a great deal of pain. Not yesterday. Very little of the infection came off and afterwards I was in such great pain. I'm still taking Vicodin. Especially where they did the biopsy. That's the spot that hurts the most. It should be healed by now, but I'm still screaming in pain. I think it's nerve pain. It feels like a thousand sharp knives sticking me in the leg. I'm just going to not touch it and leave it alone for a while. Hopefully it will get better.

Honey.. you need to get SOMETHING done... I know what nerve pain is like... I have it every day. and it was alot worse before I had the surgeries. I had the pins and needles and the sharp pains for weeks after my surgeries. I know what it's like and I can understand. :grouphug::grouphug:

Can you get a different kind of pain medication for nerve pain?

Ask the Dr. if there is a nerve block they can give you. I know..it's another needle... but it may help - and you can have them numb the area too.

I don't really know myself Deb. Just that I was reading a forum post on a pancreatitis board I visit, and someone there who had had a major operation was having nerve pain at the site, and the surgeons prescribed a different type of pain med for it. I just wondered.

There has to be something.

Deb.. I know I'm bugging you... but I do love you and I want you to get relief...

(and now I will go crawl back in my hole and leave Deb alone... :flower3: :flower3::flower3:

I'd come and babysit for you... but I'd need a little advance notice.

Well.. I called Monica... her VM is still picking up.

So that means she's still traveling, not turned her phone on yet or she's gone to bed cause she's on Marilyn's time and not ours and she has to get up and go to work tomorrow.

She needs to come back soon... Planky has missed her at work. :cool2:

I thought I was doing such a great job adjusting to the time change, but I think I'm still at least partly on Marilyn's time  I was in bed in good time last night and went right to sleep...but woke at 4:00 AM and could not get back to sleep so ended up getting up. Now I'm fading fast! I do have to get up at 5:30AM for work tomorrow, so guess I shouldn't be too far off tomorrow :confused3

Brian and Tammy and SERENITY :cutie: came for a visit today! As soon as Serenity saw me she came running screaming grandma, grandma grandma  It felt so good to hug her and visit with her for the afternoon! She is getting so big! I bought her a swimsuit in Gibralter, I'm hoping it isn't too small. The weather here today is greatly improved over yesterday. The sun came out and it got really nice and warm out, so we were able to run around in the yard. My grass is so long and filled with dandelions  Serenity kept running over them saying sorry for stepping on them :lmao: My tulips are still blooming too so I'm glad I didn't miss them. I have yellow and red tulips all mixed together in the front garden and they are lovely and vivid and certainly look like spring.

Thanks to all for the welcomes home :grouphug:

Wow... we did that at just about the same time!

so... how long will we have to wait for some pictures????

Yes, we posted about the same time...except I was first ;)

Pics will be a few days, I have a ton of them, it will take a long time to sort through them all :upsidedow I am back to work tommorrow, then meeting Sara at the gym, so maybe Wed or Thurs I will have time to go through them :confused3 I don't have a day off now until Sunday.

Sure... you go away for a couple of weeks and now you want to be first...

I guess we can wait until then... :goodvibes - just post them... we can make up our own captions for them...
