Hi all, sorry I haven't been around much. Long story short, our family has been passing colds and a GI bug around. As the Mom I have taken the biggest hit. I am going to try and read quickly and play catch up. Hope everyone else has been well.

Emma is coming home May 16th. She's been over there since January... Don't get me wrong... she's traveled alot and had a blast... but she misses her friends and family... and NY pizza... :rotfl:

I would suggest looking into the hospitals in Philly. Jefferson is EXCELLENT and so is Univ. of Penn. Let me do some research and see if I can find some info on it. email me please with the official diagnosis so I can look for you.

It's crappy out and I got up and had my eggs benny - now it's time for a nap and then I can get up and do some :laundy: and such.

YEAHHHHHHHH Emma comes home in just 3 weeks. You should have a party to celebrate. Oh, and I MISS NY pizza too....and deli rolls and bagels.

I'm not going into Philly. It's too inconvenient. I don't know the city and it's an hour in the opposite direction from John's work. Besides, I don't have an official diagnosis....just a story of progression. It's not even an open wound anymore....just not a smooth surface with an infection that refuses to go away.

Hope you had a good nap.

So wished Ann and i would be able to meet up with you again. There will be a next time.

Albert

Sorry we're going to miss you two also. Have fun while you're there and I'll look forward to another time when we can meet again.

Aaaw, sorry Cork. I was only thinking this morning about your absence!!! Hope you and your family are well now.

Welcome back Kathe :flower3: I thought of you everyday ::yes::

:laughing:pirate:

Deb sorry about that darn leg - I hear ya on the graphs. I need one for a gum (as in teeth) issue (since 2005) and I've put it off and off and off - the whole thing creeps me out. No where near as hard as yours but still eewwww! I'm going to have to deal with it soon  or endanger the tooth :sad2:

Our garden is in and thriving thanks to Molly's after school watering :cheer2:

Work is work - still have more to do that normal hours -I need to get in this weekend but dreading it :scared:

Same old stuff otherwise - kids activities keep us out almost every evening school, scouts, baseball, band. Weekends at home are much loved these days :cloud9:

Off for :laundy:

Hi Nana, good luck with your procedure when you do it. I'll let you know what the new doc says after my appointment. But I'm not doing it. They will have to find another way.

Glad things are good with the family and keeping you busy.

You go see whom ever is needed to see to get it fixed. Bottom line it needs to be looked after no matter how many people you have to go see. So just go do it. You are too important to all of us not to do what is in your own best interests.

I agree. Deb, listen to Ken!!

Ok... listen up... I'm gonna say it... and I mean it this time...

KEN IS RIGHT!!!

Thanks all....you're the best!!! It's hard because it's not an exact problem with a specific solution and medicine is not an exact science. Right now we're just speculating and trying different things to see what will work. It's all experimental. I'll keep trying until we find the one thing that will work. I won't give up. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement.

Sorry to hear it Cork. I hope it passes quickly and leaves your house soon.

I've had a bug of sorts too. It started with my stomach and moved into my intestines. It's mostly gone now, just leaving me very tired all the time. Get some rest and drink lots of water. Feel better!!

I found out that it was a mistake to soak and scrub the leg yesterday. Every time I have done it in the past, it has cleaned up nicely without a great deal of pain. Not yesterday. Very little of the infection came off and afterwards I was in such great pain. I'm still taking Vicodin. Especially where they did the biopsy. That's the spot that hurts the most. It should be healed by now, but I'm still screaming in pain. I think it's nerve pain. It feels like a thousand sharp knives sticking me in the leg. I'm just going to not touch it and leave it alone for a while. Hopefully it will get better.

I could go on my own!!!!!

Aren't Bubba and Tink booked on a later one? Now that is very sensible.

Yes, we are going in Aug. There is NO WAY we can do the repo and first alaska.

Aug 23... if anyone want to cruise with us thats when we will visit Scott and Kaylee in Seattle, Ken & Shannon in Vancouver and then sail to alaska.:thumbsup2

I sure hope it gets better! This is so worrisome!

Can you get a different kind of pain medication for nerve pain?

I have no idea Marilyn. I'm not touching it again so hopefully it will feel better soon.

:confused3:confused3:confused3

I don't really know myself Deb. Just that I was reading a forum post on a pancreatitis board I visit, and someone there who had had a major operation was having nerve pain at the site, and the surgeons prescribed a different type of pain med for it. I just wondered.

It's worth asking the experts about it. I'll see what they say.

I did a search on recurring wound infections. I'm doing everything that they say to do. Two causes that they mention that I know I have are poor circulation and auto immune deficiency. Now we know why the infection keeps coming back but they don't mention what to do when you're doing everything they say and it still comes back. I know that it started with cellulitis and that cellulitis is recurring. I may never get rid of it for good.:scared1::confused:

Its another Monday and I'm at work earning a paycheque (well, not right this second, but its coffee break time)

Welcome home Kathe! :cool1:

Deb - hang in there!:grouphug:

Ian - enjoy your last week in NY before heading off on vacation :)

Hi to everybody!

Its a crazy start to the week for me. We live in a forestry based town, and the company I work for owns 2 sawmills, 2pulpmills, my MDF plant, and a plywood plant. Tonight, there's a dinner for anybody in a staff position and it'll be 3hours of food & speeches.
Tomorrow night there's an air quality meeting at city hall, and I'm supposed to be going, but my boss hasn't given me the details yet, which makes it difficult to figure out childcare.:headache:
And then Wed is a trial so its a crazy work week. And my department got downsized last week so we've got 3 people instead of 4, and 1 is on special assignment so we only get some of his time.

Aaaw, sorry Cork. I was only thinking this morning about your absence!!! Hope you and your family are well now.

How is your cough?

We are sympathetic to your cough situation. We can't get rid of the cough either. It is quite frustrating. A good night's sleep would be wonderful.
