Now remember. Inside this stadium we will be watching the opening ceremonies, the big marshmallow, is where we (Shannon, the girls and I) go to watch our favourite football team - the BC Lions. We've been in there MANY MANY times.

It's an 8 hour drive south. My father has a place in Richmond, which is similar to Anaheim/Los Angeles for proximity. In fact Vancouver international airport (YVR) is actually in Richmond.

FYI why the big deal with Michaelle Jean - she is the Governor General of Canada. Technically the Queen of England is our head of state and the Governor General is her representative here. Thus she gets the big intro and our Prime Minister doesn't get any intro.

We had a Olympic kick-off pizza lunch today and my boss brought in a fairly recent documentary done on the FIRST US team to get a gold in hockey. The 1960 'miracle team'! A really interesting story and it's amazing to notice the difference that 'coverage' makes today in making instant celebrities out of athletes. His father, John Mayasich, was one of the team members. I got to put on his opening ceremonies coat! Dan also brought in his dad's medals and pins.

The Magic is still at Castaway Cay. The had to stay moored there overnight due to storms and haven't set sail as of a little while ago!

My goodness though, it will be causing immense problems for everybody involved. Missed flights is a major one. What a worry for folk. Then DCL has all the logistical issues. Crumbs.

I am sure they will do all they can to make everything run as smoothly as possible, but I'm glad I'm not trying to sort it.
