Off to work at WW in about a half hour.

I'm so sad. We went to Costco yesterday and I didn't buy myself a toy. There was nothing I wanted

I thought I might buy a video game, but the adult in me said, "You can't have any new games, until you've finished playing the one's you've already bought."

I hate when that bossy SOB sticks his nose into my affairs. Besides, they didn't have any I wanted ... well they did have one, "Drake's Fortune 2", but he stopped me from buying it.

Then I got home and went on Amazon and almost bought "Assassin's Creed" (the first one) for the PS3, but he stopped me again!

I guess I'll just spend my time off from work trying to finish "Heavenly Sword," "Prince of Persia," and "Infamous."

This coming week is a short week for me. I'm only working 3.5 days this week. I'm off from the afternoon of the 17th. I return to work on Monday the 28th.

We don't celebrate Christmas so we really have nothing planned. Perhaps going out to see "The Princess and the Frog," and also perhaps venturing out Christmas Day to see "Sherlock Holmes." We may just stay in as well.

We bought a couple of jigsaw puzzles to work on, and I've got a couple of really nice bottles of wine left over from Thanksgiving to enjoy.

Next time bring bubbly... might as well make a date out of it... :lovestruc

Now, why didn't I think of that!

I am SO not into Xmas this year... :sad2: :sad2: We bought a wreath today - but gifts will be really slim unless I get paid this week... even TX is a stretch, but my sister is paying for our tickets for Xmas... Brian said he doesn't care about gifts...it's us he wants... (don't ya just want to squeeze the kid??? :grouphug:)

We love Brian, he's such a sweetie.

   My father was always a year off on my birthday... 1 + ahead... so I guess I hit forty before I actually did according to him... :teacher:

It's just something you get used to and don't know what you're missing out on because it was never there. I remember moving to NYC for the first time. I had just left my small hometown knowing everyone since kindergarden and we were all the same age. Now I find myself in NYC living and working. Everyone I meet is from a different place and all different ages. I loved it. But every father's day everyone had some special story and to me it was just another day. That's when it hit me that I didn't have a dad. I was 20 years old. I'm fine with it now...I'm over 50. Your perspective changes a lot when you hit 50. You're now starting the downward portion of your life....no more climing. So you figure that you have earned everything that you want in life, so you get it and have it. I guess you can call it spoiling yourself. It works for me!

APPARENTLY, it doesn't work for Ian. IAN SPOIL YOURSELF, it's ok you're over 50 and you have started the downward portion of your life. Tell him to shut the duck up. You have earned it dahling. Just do it....like Nike....that's another motto of mine. I love that line. Buy yourself 5 new games, who cares!!!!! Enjoy yourself. Enjoy your life and live it! Each moment counts....don't waste even one. BUY THOSE GAMES!!!

Hugs and love to you. JMHO.

Deb, I love the pictures and your tree! Sorry it was such an ordeal just to get the tree, but it sure makes for a great story! :thumbsup2

That's what I kept trying to tell John....we'll laugh about this....so let's start now. He didn't share my thoughts.:confused3

:scared1: Quite a story Deb, and certainly not the pics I was expecting! I hope you can salvage the car. Your tree looks great though , looking forward to seeing pics of it decorated! Love your tree skirt!

Sorry about that Kathe, it was not the sort of day I thought I would be having. haha. We'll see about the car.

I love the tree. At least we did end up with a beautiful tree. I can't wait until it's decorated with my new Mickey ornaments. The tree skirt is perfect. I love having more of the mouse in my house.....Holly, this is the mouse that you want in your house. Not the ones that you have. We have to switch that around for you and get you the right mouse in your house.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

:goodvibes Thanks Deb

 Brian's got it right on :thumbsup2 Don't worry about the gifts, Michelle. It's family that counts, you know that

Hugs right back at'cha Kathe.:hug::hug::hug:

Deb, I'm so sorry I didn't realize your dad was even still living. I think I just assumed he had passed already. Such a sad choice he made to not have his child in his life. I just can't see ever making that choice as a parent, I don't think we are wired that way

My mom wasn't wired that way either. She lived to have children and then her grandchildren. That's what made her the happiest. How she married my father I will never understand. But those were her choices and it did get me here....so, I'm good.

I can picture it and love it. Wish I was there I'd egg him on with you :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We would have had a good laugh at it then.

I do wonder if John ever breaks his cool??? I'd be a little afraid of the big guy I have to admit :rolleyes1

He can be meanacing like a bear at times, but I know that he's just a cuddly teddy bear underneath it all....so he doesn't scare me. One time about ten years ago he was in the hospital at work on campus. He had a heart attack while on the job. He was admitted into the hospital and told that he would have to stay overnight. He got so mad when I told him that I was not driving him home....he threw Webster at me. That's the most violent that he ever gets. You just gotta learn to duck. Haha.

Willie and I couldn't find the box from 1992, wonder where is it :headache:

I couldn't find my pictures from Tulum either from 2005. They weren't on digital so who knows where they are. We'll just have to go again.

We did however find some Xmas craft stuff which is good, molly needed it for a GS gift she is making for her troop :thumbsup2

.....so not a total waste of time.

We splurged tonight and grabbed sushi on the way home from the grocery store. Yum it was good. Now sipping a Bud and going to watch Harry Potter 6 on DVD all in all a perfect Saturday night at home with my honey :lovestruc:happytv:

Yes, it sounds perfect.....except for that part about eating bait. Any uncooked fish I ever had was used for bait.

My dad was a fisherman. On Long Island you have the ocean on one side and 30 minutes in a car and you're on the Long Island Sound. My dad loved fishing. When I was very young, he used to take me out with him in boats to be on the water and fish. Uncooked fish is bait!!!:laughing:

Well the drama of the saga continues this morning. The kid is out buying waist high rubber boots for both himself and John. That's the first thing we need. Then John is taking some heavy duty cargo straps and rope and the BEAST and running down to the tree farm. He's going to lasso the Suzuki and pull her out with the Beast. Wish him luck. Then hopefully Suzie Suzuki will start right up. We can hope, dream and wish for a miracle. I'll let you know as I find out. I won't be with them. I'm going to Mrs. Bush's today by myself at 2:00 pm. Gotta do the Christmas party thingy with Ray.:upsidedow:upsidedow

Who knows anything about the Wii Fit? I'm thinking about getting it. I got an email advertising Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatium 2010 for the Wii. I'm assuming it's for the Wii Fit. Is that correct? Then it says Balance Board sold separately and not required for play. What does that mean? I think the Wii is different from the Wii Fit. Is that correct? Can I play Jillian Michaels on either one? I'm so technically challenged.:confused3:confused3:confused3

Morning all!!

Deb - can't answer the ?s about the Wii - I have no clue! Sorry about the Suzuki saga - you just need to remind John when he's NOT in the Beast! I did chuckle as I was reading the story...until I got to the part that you got stuck.

Ian - after the last few weeks/months - you deserve to treat yourself to something that you don't need :)

Nan - how did the interview go? Did I miss a post about it? Liked the story about Paul & the tree....glad you had a nice night in with the sushi & movie.

hugs, prayers & pd to all of you that need it - sending love to you too.

comment on FB - not sure what all info they have on me but I keep getting stuff for Altanta ... didn't think I lived there.

Morning kids!

Monica, I did the math on our cruise and counting the tips we have a 73% discount over the current cost of a Cat 5 for three adults! :woohoo:WOW! TA discounts ROCK!

Wow Ian, nice to have all that time off, you truly need it. Enjoy, rest, de-stress, and relax! :goodvibes

;) Deb, I'm working on that! Haven't seen any sign of any after the last body retrieval earlier in the week. Lots more poison has disappeared though, so I'm hoping the rest are eating that and getting out of dodge.

I'm off to get a pedicure and buy new shoes today....oh wait, I'd better do that in reverse order! Will get some breakfast first, as I've consumed all my groceries and will need to get more of that too.

House de-cluttering is progressing, will do my bedroom today and then have all next weekend for the office/craft room (and it will take every minute of it too)!

Need to call on my Disney rewards card (which expires this month). Someone on the DIS posted that you can get that transfered to a regular Disney gift card before it expires. If not, looks like I'll be shoe shopping at the mall that still has a Disney store and will buy a beach towel or something......

So that's my day......

Deb, I don't have a Wii yet, but the Wii is what plays the games and Wii Fit is a game you play on the Wii. So I believe Jillian's Fitness Ultimatum would be a game you play on the Wii.

I need to get a Wii. I'm getting a free game, Jenny McCarthy's Fit for Me (I think that's what it's called). It's just another exercise game, but it has a video cam to watch you exercise and the game can tell you if you're moving the right way or have the right stance/posture/whatever, for maximum benefit. :thumbsup2 Not sure if having a workout in the form of a game will help motivate me, but I like having an excuse to get a Wii. ;)

Experimenting on Tyler's Nintendo DSi. He':woohoo::woohoo:s gonna be one happy kid! :)

Thanks for all your help Holly. I now have the Wii, the Wii Fit with Balance Board and Jillian Michaels Wii in my Amazon Wish List and I'll pick them up on Wednesday....my next pay. Now it makes perfectly good sense to me. All totalled it's about $350. Not bad if I use it. Do you just hook it up to the TV? I have a satellite box, DVD player and Bose all hooked up to my TV now. I have no idea if John knows how to hook up a Wii too. Guess we'll find out. I think I'll use it so I'm happy to have it. Now if only they will put Zena Rommett's ballet class and Alvin Ailey's jazz class on Wii, then I'll be in my natural element. In the meantime I'll try what's available. :cutie:

That's very good to hear Holly. Finally! Keep the poison around all the time. Never pick it up. If you get one, you get tons of them. They breed like crazy. So make sure you have lots of poison all around all the time. Then you'll never see another mouse that you don't want.:banana::banana:

I'm going to be getting ready to leave for Mrs. Bush's soon. I have to be out of here in one hour. John and the kid are still not back yet. He's been gone for a good hour already. It must not be going very easily. Well if all else fails, I told him to call AAA and request a special tow. We have a Plus card so we're covered.

I'm sad that I'm going to miss seeing some good football games this afternoon. There's only 4 games left in the regular season. It's getting good now. Time to determine who is in the playoffs and then going to the Superbowl. I shouldn't be that long at Mrs. Bush's. I should be able to watch some games today.

Hi Monica, Hi Jackie!!!

SHANNON, I forgot to tell you how MUCH I LOVED your girls and the Christmas pictures. So beautiful. Thanks for those. I thought I would be decorating my tree today, but I have to wait for the lights to go up first. The kid always does them and he's a bit busy with his dad today. So I'll wait and decorate when I can.

I almost forgot about it...it was with a recruiter who couldn't give me the answers I needed to determine if I wanted the job or not. I was her first call  I think the company is a counsulting firm that offers same kind of services that I do but on a bigger scale. So it could be good, but I'm not sure if my attitude about being disappointed in the recruiter not being able to answer my questions put me in a not to call back pile. I was a bit pissed at the whole thing. I was at my client's office so the call we interfering with actual work. Long answer to tell ya - not sure yet

Still in my jammies but we need to get up and out to get to our cookie decorating party. Mols baked the cookies this morning the house smells great when she is at work :woohoo:

Got it, thanks. Responded.;)

Ok... now I'm dying to know what that was all about... ;)

Thanks Marilyn, I don't think the car is going to make it....but Christmas is a time for miracles, so we'll see.

So sweet of you to say, but I reconciled with my daddy demons a long long time ago. I think it's my brother that missed out on so much not having him in our lives. I look at it as being his loss. Then there was mom, who was like Doris Day in all of her movies. She lived just to be a mother. That was her joy in life and she did it very well. So we were compensated by having our mom.

Hey... I thought MY mom was Doris Day... :confused3:rolleyes::rolleyes:
