OK, my big day ... my electric roaster arrived.
I'll focus on that warming thought (Get it? Electric roaster? Warming thought?) and not how much butt I'm going to have to kiss over the next 2 days.
I've decided to start working on my inner transformation, so I can appear engage, enthusiastic, professional, smart and the semblance of someone who gives a poo.
HAPPY SPECIAL 40TH BIRTHDAY MONICA
:
Loved it, so used it!!!
Happy Birthday, sweetie!!!

It was a busy but successful day!
Ken used contact cement on the tiles on the stairs and so far they aren't falling off
Kaleigh had fun at soccerKen & I don't really like how much of the time is spent playing tag, but she's having fun and that's what counts
Shaelyn had fun at soccer and was actively participatingand we found out who her coach is and he seems to be really into teaching the kids
Now I'm curled in my chair playing cafeworld and getting caught up on the dis.![]()
Another stressful week. I a on a project that is supposed to go to pilot in a week and that's now become a ridiculous goal. Who knows maybe we can pull it off. I have to work this weekend and next weekend. I had already arranged for a sub for my WW meetings on Sunday the 15th but now I have also arranged for on this coming Sunday the 8th. I was supposed to go to a WW mandatory training session this coming Saturday, but I highly doubt I will be able to make it. I'm not sure what the impact of that is going to be.
The acquisition of the company I work for is rapidly coming to a close. There is a shareholder meeting next week for the vote to approve the sale.
Tomorrow there are two people coming in that I have to meet with, one of whom I'll probably be working for and I'm going to be meeting with both of them.
Things are getting tense at work. We had a weekly planning meeting, with a couple of people conferenced in. One was a woman I work with with whom I've had run ins before, she was home getting over the swine flu. Also on the phone was one of these NY people that we're going to be reporting to.
I was in the call for only the first 10 minutes when this woman I work with, who was on the phone, decided to get really difficult. I took a consolatory tone to at least make it seem like we had a spirit of teamwork.
I understand from my colleagues who stayed for the whole meeting that she starting tossing everyone, including some of the people who report to her under the bus.
Very stressful week.

With all that having been said, it means that me and John will be available to do Eastwood Manor for Turkey Day in 2010. We'll keep our dinner ressies for this year. It will probably be the last that Ray's aware of so it won't matter if we do it on a different day with him and the kid next year. We'll be available to travel to Chicago. YEAH!!! So who else will be joining us? Jackie? Nan? Monica? Cheri? The more the merrier.
Good Morning Thieves....the SUN is shining. WOW. First time in about a week....and not very often since last spring.
I spent yesterday afternoon with Ray. We voted. His mental capacity to understand and communicate is lessening. It was very noticeable yesterday. It's not just good days and bad days anymore. It's mostly all the same and it's on the decline. I have to take him to the GP doctor tomorrow. After speaking with him, I'm going to call Ray's daughter and make her aware of his condition. Not that she's going to do anything about visiting him while he can still remember her....but just so my conscious is clear and she can't say that she didn't know.
That is a great idea, Deb. Hopefully she will step up & go visit Ray. You have been the better daughter, that's for sure.

Now that Cheri is going to Eastwood Manor next year I'm expecting a lot of pictures!![]()
Here's where I would like to stay in Chicago. $60-75 for a suite near the airport. I think I remember you saying, Ian, that you're about 10 minutes from the airport. Is that correct? We'll have a car so it's probably close enough. Here's the link:

I can book it at the end of this month. Cheri and Monica...if you split it that's $30/night for a suite. That's great. You can cancel without penalty unless it's last minute.
Sounds like a party for sure! I'm in! Ian, start scouting motels/hotels!![]()
I had a snarky reply but it got lost...stupid internet...
I'm there in pencil for now (job thing must be settled before travel plans in pen)
Be there or be talked about. Nevermind we're talking about you even if you are there![]()

I think the largest Thanksgiving dinner we've had was for 14 people. 2010 looks like it's going to be one of those.
