Oh yummy Ian. That sounds just wonderful. What will Sukie be eating?

Only one thing.....do you do an alternative dessert? Not that I wouldn't like what you are offering of course, but you know? Choice, that kind of thing?

He eats everything except for the turkey. I prepare the stuffing and set some aside and then add the sausage. I also make it with vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.

We used to get a faux turkey roast for him, but we found that all of the side are plenty.

Regarding dessert, no it's only the one dessert. Fortunately everyone goes crazy over the pumpkin bread pudding and the caramel sauce. One of my colleagues at work made it last year for his Thanksgiving dinner and he said his guests went nuts over it too. Funny thing is that it is ridiculously easy to make.

Now I did see a very nice cake recipe that I was tempted to try in addition, but got scared off my the amount of leftovers there'd be.

Marilyn - Now you've got me thinking if I should make the La Bete Noir a rich chocolate torte with ganache or a cranberry walnut upside down cake.

Instead of 8 people for dinner I need about 12 or 14!

Send home care packages with your guests. Let them have the left overs.:thumbsup2

Hey V...you and Bubba have an awesome time on vacation. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. Are you staying the whole week? That will be very fun and relaxing. Enjoy!

Ian that menu sounds devine. I was hungry when I read it and my mouth was watering....I wanted to eat it now. What a great job you have done putting it together. It's going to be a wonderful feast.

Don't worry about desert. Don't some people bring more deserts anyway?

Welcome home Deborah. We have missed you. I'm so glad you had a wonderful time. Waiting for the pictures....;)

Some of you will be receiving a package from me shortly....I did what I could with what I had. I was limited on resources so go easy on me. John helped me pack everything out today and I'll be mailing them off on Monday.

V, I won't mail you anything yet because you won't be home. I'll send it at the end of the week so you'll get it when you get back.

Just want you all to know that even if we couldn't share the last cruise together, you were not forgotten.

Enough said. Now you all have to wait and see. Just think PINK and have a vacuum handy....ah-haha.

No, the only thing that the guests bring is wine. They no better than to upset the "balance" of the meal!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....this all sounds SO good!!!

Last night I wrote a huge post about my FREAKY FRIDAY but then the boards went down and I lost it :headache: I haven't the energy to retype it but here's the short version:

I opened the cash office at work at 7:00 AM (our store opens at 8:00)
At about 7:20 I turned around from the safe, walked to my counter, looked out my window overlooking the store......................and was staring at the back of a man holding a rifle aimed out at the store(I'm up on the second floor):scared1::scared1::scared1::faint:

Turns out the man was hired to come and shoot a bird that has been in the store for some time :sad2::sad2::sad2:

No one told me he was coming into the store

I almost called 911 (long story why that didn't happen). Can you imagine if the Swat Team had arrived, what excitement we would have had then!

By the way, the bird escaped ;)

I spent the day at work but cried off and on all day from the shock and fear of the morning, then bought a bottle of wine on the way home :(

How frightening and how stupid to not alert employees that someone would be coming with a gun.

YAY!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

(7 for me...)

Control... wow... what's that??? ;) ;)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Great job Michelle!!!

My goal was 100 pounds, then 120 pounds but I guess you can say I am maintaining since I have now lost 150! Connie saw me last week so you can ask her. I'm not trying to lose more but it seems to still be coming off. I think it's because I still limit bread and sweets. I was excited when I reached a size 10 jeans but I now am in a 4!:woohoo: I'm loving it!!!

You've done so well Gydell, and I love that you feel so good about yourself :woohoo:

Just so you know...

Boards are going down at 10:30 for a couple of hours...

see you over on FB...

Wish I had read this before trying to type another loooong post last night

Last night was the worst, but I think it's finally broken... I didn't want to go to the Dr. because I was afraid of getting sicker!!! The regular flu vaccines have run out in my area... I have to wait for the next shipment... mom got hers but I wasn't feeling good the day they were doing them.

Well hopefully you'll start feeling a little better each day now:hug:

Good Morning

I am back:lovestruc

Scottishwee35

Sounds like you had a busy week Deborah! Put your feet up and relax over the weekend! Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Yes, incredibly stupid! Apparently he wasn't supposed to arrive until next week, so they hadn't alerted us yet....BUT employees let him in when he arrived and only told some of the staff he was here and what he would be doing  Needless to say, I am being very vocal about this, I have a right to feel safe in my work environment, especially when the store is closed! Hopefully some good will come from this. Obviously our policies need to be reviewed!!!

Pink??? Does Planky have to dress for the occasion? Because you know...it IS close to Halloween and he's DYING to go in drag... :dance3: :dance3:

I know it's hunting season and all, but this is rediculous... Glad you got the wine... I would have started drinking it as soon as the guy left...

(clean up in aisle 5... ;))

We could give you a knickname like Buckshot or something... Luckily you aren't dressed in camoflage... :sad2:

:hug::hug:

Ditto what Ian said! I was robbed (strong arm no gun) while working at the Video Store so I know how frightening that experience was and can't even imagine if it was someone with a gun!
