Is that the appliance with a door that opens like a dishwasher?

We had a lovely meal at a wonderful hotel. It is our favourite place to eat, but a bit expensive. Their website had 2 for 1 offer on their Yorkshire Menu, so we thought we would save some money towards our cruises and go for this.
They use local produce - well from Yorkshire, and tell you where the main items come from and distance travelled. They win awards for this menu perticularly.
So for starters I had Yorkshire Feta Cheese Bruschetta with a very tasty salad. John had pea and mint soup. Local peas that is.
We both had the fillet steak(Yorkshire of course) with Yorkshire blue cheese topping, mashed potato cake and veggies of peas, little onions and mushrooms, with some Yorkshire ham. Best steak I have ever eaten.
Desserts. John had Chocolate Brownie with Pontefract Ice Cream. That is mildly licourice tasting as Pontefract is famous for Pomfret cakes, a very soft and yummy licourice sweet(candy!!!). Unusual, but John loved it. I had local grown Strawberry Cheesecake with ice cream and local berries. Oh my!!!
I had a pot of Yorkshire Tea and we shared some home made petit fours.
For half price it was a bargain. Great and attentive service. I think they are working at getting through this recession. I hope they do. It was busy.

We ran a lot of errands today and did a lot of walking, 11,272 steps for me. Not quite my normal 15,000 but it will have to do.
It's wonderful to have day off. I get to sleep late again tomorrow. TWO nights in a row.
I do hope my WW meetings are better attended. I have been hit hard for 2 Sundays now, first Father's Day, and then Gay Pride Day (the parade came through the neighborhood where my meetings are), and now the July 4th weekend. Because attendance has been hammered, my WW paycheck was way down.
What's wrong with these people? Don't they know I have a vacation to pay for?
mmmmmmmm
sounds great
happy independence day!!!
A very nice South African Rose, and I am keeping Holly company.
Is it closed yet?
A wound? What did I miss? What happened? Are you OK?Well......thanks to the percocet I've done 4 loads of wash, balanced my checkbook, paid bills, prepared and ate a lovely lunch, showered, medicated the wound, changed the bedding and now I'm thinking about a nap. So I'd say I'm feeling pretty good......

Ian, I hope your meetings pick back up again. I'm sure they will, you're probably right about the drop being because of the 2 events. We ran a lot of errands today and did a lot of walking, 11,272 steps for me. Not quite my normal 15,000 but it will have to do.

She just wanted to go over to Pegs house and get spoiled...![]()
Oh Marilyn, that sounds so yummmmy! I just realized it was 30 years ago that I was in the UK for two weeks in August. The city of York was my favorite spot on the trip (though I did love the Snowdonia area of Wales too).
I don't want anybody to faint....but I actually used my OVEN this afternoon. I can't remember the last time I cooked something in there....it's usually the microwave, toaster oven or the George Foreman grill. I baked a mess of chicken leg/thigh quarters, just seasoned with pepper and paprika, though 90% of the skin won't be eaten in this WW household....just some crispy bits.
Didn't get that nap since I decided to cook....we'll, guess I'll just have to turn in early instead.

One drink and she totally forgets Tortola...![]()
No wonder you can't remember which thread you're on... WOW!!!![]()
Wow that does sound nice. I'm sure the local produce is wonderful. I know I preferred the strawberries over there, and let's not get me started on the cheese!
