I don't know... Check back with me in a couple of hours... :lmao:

Well... the here's the Saga of the Travels of the Queen Mum princess:.... The trip to the Cape of the Cods....

Their Journey started well... everyone crammed into my brother the Duke's (he didn't earn Princely duties...) carriage to fight Friday Night congestion and traffic to get up there early to start the Royal jaunt by the sea coast...

However... after sitting next to the Young Prince Will (and his skateboard, ipod, DS, and whatever a 13 year old brings on vacation... ) for 5 hours... The Queen Mum and her merry crew arrived on the Cape only to find that the Owners of the Castle they had rented had not yet VACATED the premises... (How rude...)

They got the dates wrong... (the owners... not my brother... which I would have SWORN it would have been him... :lmao::lmao:)

So... they Owners and their subjects will be leaving on Sunday and until then, the Royal party will be residing in a probably perfectly nice Motor Inn out on the Cape... (I'm thinkin 60's naugahyde furniture and a hot plate...)

Of course you know... Aunt Shell's Travel & Tours would NEVER have let this happen... :flower3:
Bummer.

HEY! I used to be very "earth mothering" too when I lived in the midwest.....canning, gardening, sewing, cooking......BUT I GAVE ALL THAT UP WHEN I MOVED TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!! ::MinnieMo Now I let Minnie do all that! And Tinkerbell helps!
:tink:
Oh, what a wonderful life that would be! :goodvibes

We have a glimmer of sun out today....I don't trust it though. Last night while driving home from work, John said he had hail balls coming down so hard that he thought they were going to break his windshield. Ouch!

It just got black as night here in the afternoon yesterday and we lost satellite and electricity for a bit, then it flickered a while before coming back fully.:confused3
Double bummer.

So after two weeks, that flew by, Kris was on a plane out of here on Wed night. I thoroughly enjoyed his company, but I was so glad to see him leave. He has a high level of energy that is always going and after a while, it just wore me out. I've been recouperating since he left. I enjoy my peaceful existence and really miss it after a while. That plus the fact that I was exhausted. I'm not used to keeping up with a 16 year old....actually he'll be 17 in five weeks.

Unlike his brother, he was funny, charming, kind, thoughtful, helpful....a real sweet kid. I'm back to keeping in touch with him on myspace. He wants to come here for a week during winter break....so I have six months to regain my strength and get ready. hahaha.:rotfl:
I'm glad it was a good visit! :goodvibes

I've actually gotten lots accomplished today. I found the solution to my sleeping all day problem: the new neighbors. :headache:

Anyway, I did dishes, cleaned out my "junk drawer" in the kitchen, put away some laundry, am doing more laundry right now, got one of Tyler's prescriptions filled (dad informed me I needed to get that done), bought a few groceries, went shopping for guinea pig supplies, and cleaned the guinea pig cage out.

When I pick Tyler up from his dad's, we'll have a quick supper, then we're going over to one of his friend's house to give her a gift he picked up for her at Disney. Then I'm hoping he's in the mood for helping me weed, otherwise, that will be the plan for tomorrow morning, and hopefully lots of house cleaning tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Overall, an unusually productive weekend for me!

There are things that one reads that one is prepared to see in print.

Then there are the things that one never expects to read in print.

Did I just read that Nan spent the evening canning? And canning plums to boot?

Something must be wrong and I must be hallucinating.

The next thing I'll hallucinate reading that that Nan spent some pleasant contemplative hours first at the spinning wheel and then at her loom.

ok, this will really make you crack up or think Paul and I are CRAZY...I have a book called "knitting with dog hair" I got it many years ago, pre-kids. There are/were a few women that did spin dog hair into yarn and ::yes:: we have saved Casey's hair from many years ago...I'm not sure where it is, and really it was Paul's doing since he brushed her. Might just have to find it and see it I can get it loomed now  Casey would make a nice scarf.

what are you laughing at, or should I say who???:snooty:

Hey Connie, got room for me in your house????

My mom would can peaches every year. I know the process that you're going through. It's a lot of work, but so worthwhile. What a good mom you are!:thumbsup2

It was a lot of work, but the jars really look pretty today :goodvibes

I do feel shameful if we let the fruit go to waste. I really should have donated them this year to the food banks. As it was I tossed out 10 bags of ripe fruit because I didn't get it canned timely :guilty:

Hard to believe we're talking about Nan....she's quite the domesticated wench these days. hahaha.

thank you I am. You can see I'm trying to justify staying home. It's a bummer, I know Paul wants me to but we just can't make it on one income these days :sad2:

& NAN.... do we get preserves or jam or whatever for our Xmas presents this year????

Ohhh fish extenders....

Don't laugh I was thinking about how I'd get a few jars with me. I figure I will pack them in my suitcase. No promises on how many I bring those suckers are heavy....

she needs to go back to work... she's scaring me...

Next thing you know... she'll be watching reruns of Little House on the Prairie... :scared:

Oh come on, I did that before all this. I love the Ingalls and now I got Molly to finally read the set that I gave her in 3rd grade I have a watching companion. JK, I don't know when it's on here, but if I flipped to it I'd stay for sure ::yes:: (you know Jack was a Border Collie dontcha?)

You're making me tired, and I just got up ::yes:: I got up at Noon. I was wiped out. Of course I didn't tell you that Willie and I stayed up even later last night watching sci-fi :woohoo:

Funny hearing about your rain and stuff, we are supposed to hit 100 degrees today, but I doubt we will, most likely in the 90s. I'm thinking we'll head to the beach tomorrow for a cool down :dance3:

I really wish Ian's rain would quit jumping over me on its way to you! Things are quite crackly here. We need a few days of good rain.

Mine seems to be coming in off the ocean... strange backdoor cold front...

The sun is out now, but I know THAT won't last...:rotfl2:

:dance3: :rotfl:

Feeling better that way... but very stressed :headache: hope it will end very soon...

By the way... Kaylee's doing much better I'll pass along your message...

[/SIZE]

I'm glad you're feeling better Michelle...now let go of that stress!

Also very glad to hear Kaylee is doing better!

And maybe just for fun, I'll spray the idiot guy holding a 6-9 month old baby (just guessing on the age) while letting the baby hold a sparkler.

:scared1: Idiot is putting it mildly

Thanks for the pixie dust, but, nope, I haven't heard anything, which means I expect the rejection letter in the mail next week. Oh well, the right thing will eventually come along. In the meantime, at least I still have a good paycheque with good benefits which allows me to go on a Panama Canal Disney Cruise (at least that's what I tell myself to keep my spirits up ;) ) :goodvibes

Well, I'm still holding out hope for you! You do have some pretty good perks with your current job though ;)

JUST HAD MY BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE YEAR!!!

:eek::eek::eek:

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

There was a knock at my door a little while ago. I went and opened the door...took me a minute to see through all the long hair and whiskers...OMG...it's my son! He called me from his home in Alberta 2 days ago, but failed to mention he was leaving with a friend to drive here for a visit!!! It's a long drive, they have been driving pretty much non-stop for 2 days. Now he's gone already to see how many other people he can shock  but he'll be back later! I'm so glad I have tomorrow off work, and an extra day next week for Canada Day! I have no idea how long he's staying for.

What a wonderful weekend surprise!

A bit tired because I was up at 4:30 a.m. today. I woke up and figured I might as well stay up because I had to go lead WW meetings today.

I did have an inspiring meeting, one member's loss was a big milestone. As of this morning she's lost 108.4 pounds! We did a big celebration. She had started at 330.8 pounds.

I found her really inspiring and she provided inspiration and motivation to everyone else.

It's moments like that that make me really enjoy this part time job.

Yes, it is a great surprise! Of course, I've just had to spend a few minutes clearing out the junk in the extra bedroom so he has some room. I've also realized I'll have to run out for more supplies tomorrow, definately not enough food in the fridge to feed him for long! I have no idea how long that will be, either :confused3

:goodvibes I'm glad you've had a good day. I was up at 5:30 because I HAD to be for work, otherwise I would definately have slept later

Does anyone remember my story about Micah, the 7 yr old grandson of my work friend who had cancer? Well, he is still cancer free after finishing a year of chemo in January :cool1: Sunshine Kids organization is sending him and his family for 3 days in WDW and 4 days on the Wonder on July 7th! His grandma and grandpa and aunt are going too! I am hoping they have a truly wonderful time. None of them have ever been before.

We had two strange storms yesterday...

Planky and I would have gone down into the storm cellar (if we had one...) but he was too entranced by the pretty clouds to move away from the window... :rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We had 2 tornadoes touch down just outside of our city on Thursday :scared1: This area is known as tornado alley but we really haven't had many over the last number of years. I hope it isn't going to be one of THOSE kind of summers :scared1:

Deb, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit with Kris :goodvibes You've got a summer vacation and our Tortola cruise to help you relax and gain your strength before winter break :lmao:

I see your light's off so I guess you were too tired to say goodnight ;) Hope you get rested up and enjoy the rest of your weekend. I will NOT be up early to say good morning :lmao:

I might have tried to fill a whole page myself, but Ian spoiled it  :lmao:

Good night all! Hope everyone has a great second half to their weekend.
