Hi NAN!

Is Wilson racing this weekend?

Hi Shannon :flower3:

Nope, we didn't have the cash to make another So Cal trek :sad2: His next race at Infineon isn't until July 18th...such a long wait since the last one.

But the kids are ok, they are in the summer musical, Once on this Island (a carribbean flaired ariel/prince eric story rich guy loves the poor girl...the show starts the day before Molly's bday 7/22 and runs thru 7/25

What are your girls up to this summer, any camps or stuff like that???

I don't know... Check back with me in a couple of hours... :lmao:

Well... the here's the Saga of the Travels of the Queen Mum princess:.... The trip to the Cape of the Cods....

Their Journey started well... everyone crammed into my brother the Duke's (he didn't earn Princely duties...) carriage to fight Friday Night congestion and traffic to get up there early to start the Royal jaunt by the sea coast...

However... after sitting next to the Young Prince Will (and his skateboard, ipod, DS, and whatever a 13 year old brings on vacation... ) for 5 hours... The Queen Mum and her merry crew arrived on the Cape only to find that the Owners of the Castle they had rented had not yet VACATED the premises... (How rude...)

They got the dates wrong... (the owners... not my brother... which I would have SWORN it would have been him... :lmao::lmao:)

So... they Owners and their subjects will be leaving on Sunday and until then, the Royal party will be residing in a probably perfectly nice Motor Inn out on the Cape... (I'm thinkin 60's naugahyde furniture and a hot plate...)

Of course you know... Aunt Shell's Travel & Tours would NEVER have let this happen... :flower3:

tsk tsk, good thing she travels to the good places with you :rolleyes1:cool2: and even better you knew to stay away from that trip ;)

We have spent our evening canning our plums into jam. Actually, I did the leg work of prepping the fruit this afternoon, so I've had a long day on my feet. Just got 2 batches done tonight, should have at least 3 more tomorrow. I figure this will keep Wilson in jam for PB&Js for next year and then some :woohoo:

There are things that one reads that one is prepared to see in print.

Then there are the things that one never expects to read in print.

Did I just read that Nan spent the evening canning? And canning plums to boot?

Something must be wrong and I must be hallucinating.

The next thing I'll hallucinate reading that that Nan spent some pleasant contemplative hours first at the spinning wheel and then at her loom.

Give her time... she has to finish plowing the fields first...

My mom's favorite place was Cape Cod. I spent every summer vacation there while growing up. I even went back there with mom and her grands very late in her life. It's a beautiful area. What town is Barb and Co. in?

My mom would can peaches every year. I know the process that you're going through. It's a lot of work, but so worthwhile. What a good mom you are!:thumbsup2

Hard to believe we're talking about Nan....she's quite the domesticated wench these days. hahaha.

I knew I liked you for a reason Connie....you just know how to live right! :cool2:

They are supposed to be staying in Brewster... I think they are nearby...

As a kid we stayed in Gray Gables at the beginning of the Cape. Recently we stayed in Eastham, near Brewster, on the other side of the Cape. That's a beautiful area. I love it out there.

They should have a good time no matter what.

:goodvibes

Ohhh Yipee... .it's raining.... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We have a glimmer of sun out today....I don't trust it though. Last night while driving home from work, John said he had hail balls coming down so hard that he thought they were going to break his windshield. Ouch!

It just got black as night here in the afternoon yesterday and we lost satellite and electricity for a bit, then it flickered a while before coming back fully.:confused3

We had two strange storms yesterday...

Planky and I would have gone down into the storm cellar (if we had one...) but he was too entranced by the pretty clouds to move away from the window... :rotfl2:

So after two weeks, that flew by, Kris was on a plane out of here on Wed night. I thoroughly enjoyed his company, but I was so glad to see him leave. He has a high level of energy that is always going and after a while, it just wore me out. I've been recouperating since he left. I enjoy my peaceful existence and really miss it after a while. That plus the fact that I was exhausted. I'm not used to keeping up with a 16 year old....actually he'll be 17 in five weeks.

Unlike his brother, he was funny, charming, kind, thoughtful, helpful....a real sweet kid. I'm back to keeping in touch with him on myspace. He wants to come here for a week during winter break....so I have six months to regain my strength and get ready. hahaha.:rotfl:

John's son flew out last night to go to Ohio to see his mother until mid July. Now me and John are alone on the property. YEAH!

When the kid comes back, me and John are going down to my nephew's house near Virginia Beach. We're bringing two of my turtles and their tank to set them up for Casey to keep. His mom finally agreed to let him have turtles and I'm glad to let him have two of mine. I started out with 7 and after this I will have 4 left. (One went with Sandi to Florida.)

In August, my brother will have a month off on vacation. He'll be coming up to PA during some of that time.

Then the summer is over and Sept will be here and I will be going to Tortola on the Magic.

I love this time of year.:wizard:
