Wow, that is quite an increase. We will be on our 2nd vacation using ours, and have another in September, so we it is a great help to us.

You can also pick them up from the Guest Services at the 4 parks too.

I think you will do ok with the weight if that is what you set out to do. I really did find the dining plan knocked any self control I might have had on the head as I just had to get the very best value I could out of it.

I am not as good as you in thinking I will not overeat anyway as the food side is always part of my vacations anyway, but for sure I prefer the flexibility of not being on the plan more, and not feeling I have to eat all the time is great. It also means we can eat outside the parks at some great restaurants and not be tied to WDW.

Since nobody's around on here, I'm off to bed. Everybody must be busy!

Sorry Holly.

We had some friends come over last night to play some boardgames with us so weren't able to Dis.

On a positive front for us we finally learned how to play a game I've had on the shelf for almost 2 years! :lmao:

We probably won't get the new DDE, I'm not sure we'd recoup the $75 for the card.

Dining has always been an important part of the holiday for us. The old dining plan had an appetizer, entree and dessert. I know we would eat more than we normally did to "get our money's worth." This next trip without the plan will be interesting.

I'm not so very much interested in dining outside the world. The appeal just isn't there for us.

I can remember the days before the dining plan, when you could decide the same day where to have dinner. It was not so hard to get into restaurants. The dining plan changed all that.

I also remember the video-phone kiosks in Epcot, which was how you made restaurant reservations for World Showcase restaurants.

Even though they reduced the window to 90 days for ADRs, I still think it's extraordinarily silly to be thinking about what and where you want to eat 3 months in advance of the meal.

Hi everyone.

Just sitting here watching the Cavs. They were down by 15 at one point to Dallas, and then turned it on - now up by 24!

Spring weather here today - rain, sun, rain, clouds.

I got us a Wii Fit today, and I have to say the machine does not lie.

Anyone else on here have a KIndle?

Amy and I each got one a month ago when the new 2.0 Kindle came out, and we both LOVE them. We do read a lot though, and it would not be worth it if you don't.

Hope you are all well - this is just my monthly or so check in. Not much else different for us or around here.

I remember these too Ian. Our first trip to WDW, Amy and I made our reservations at one of those at EPCOT. Our first dinner at EPCOT . . . Alfredo's.

Ok... so... what do you do when your ex-boyfriend's (who you thought you were going to marry) wife shows up on the "people you may know" page on facebook???

Should I cry cause he looks happy in the pictures with his wife and 2 kids or what else should I do... yes, obviously I still have feelings...

Go ahead G... tell me he wasn't right for me...

Oh yes,

And we did manage to see some of our other Disfriends who couldn't be there in person:

Can you find yourself?

;)

I'm the one dressed in blue...

OH MY GOSH!!! I CANNOT believe you guys are all still going! Wow! I was feeling very sad and missing our trip so much I decided to pop over and just lurk on some of the boards, and here I find you all!

I haven't kept up at all since probably Julyne of last year, so I won't pretend to know what's been going on with everyone, but I'm glad to see the group still active. I glean that you had another meet recently! That's awesome! Are some of you still planning a reunion cruise this Fall? Wish we could go. Unfortunately we're "stuck" with a trip to Hawaii for Alison's choir, (Just Alison and me) so no family vacation for us this year.

We did finally make it to WDW for 9 days in December, using our DVC membership that we bought on the cruise. It was wonderful and we loved it but we all agreed we'd rather be on the Magic!

I've been desperately trying to figure out how to fit in another cruise next year, but between Erik starting college and Alison's gymnastics competition season, I just don't see a time we can all go. I HATE having a son in college! (Well he's not there yet, but I'm anticipating) You just don't have the flexibility to up and go like we did in High School. And as much as I know the day is coming, I'm just not ready to go cruising without them yet.

Anyway, just wanted to say HI! I'll go back to reading what you've all been up to for the last year!

Hi Tracy!!!

They haven't been able to muzzle us yet and if they do, Ken has offered to set us up in our own digs!!! :thumbsup2

Mexicanadian? You trying to get me deported eh? :rotfl2:

Well, since he named 2 countries, pick one...

It was the time to stop as we were driving. I think it was about 11:30pm. It wasn't planned. It just was on the side of the road. And now I can fully understand that CCR song!

My sister lived in Ripon... the Blue Moon Motel was where she always threatened to make me go and stay...

and then I'll build our own website to keep chatting without major overseers.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Willie game update (yes Paul txted me with stats all thru out it)

Final 11-7 ( much tighter than the prior 2), top of the 3rd winning 6-2 and we got another triple play, that makes for one each game so far. Either our boys (& 1 girl) are good, or those other teams suck. ok a bit of both....

:car::car:GO SPEED!!! :car::car:
Nope if you use Firefox as your browser you can install twitterfox and can tweet while browsing and posting here no problemo!

Heck I'm doing it now!! ;)

That's too much tweeting for me...

It's not doing anything weird for me. Ooooooh! I just noticed it underlines mis-spelled words in red! Has it always done that? If so, I've never noticed. Cool!

Yup... it even underlines ones that aren't wrong... :rotfl:

So sorry but I figured one of us had better go to work and start to PAY for the trip!!

Plus you want to go camping with Gaylean and Jon this summer and meet up with Michelle in Vancouver, and now I just showed you how we could go to some place like Lake Tahoe or even Cabo this summer on points for a weekend. So one of us has to make the money to do that ...

Will possibly have to do Vancouver at another date... I may be traveling in the other direction in June... will depend on what I hear this week.

Looks like Ian & Sukie are going to get snowed on tonight!

and then you, and then me... :lmao:

Gonna get you emigrated to Canada if you like it or not! :lmao:

Bring your muck-lucks... :rotfl:

Oh you to the east, take heart. Tomorrow we are supposed to go up into the '50's. It is already warming up. It's warmer now than it was earlier today.

No Kindle here, though there is the Kindle app for the iPhone.

Welcome to our little Wii family, when you're settled in with it, send me your console ID, I have a list for our little group of Wii Miis.

So, imagine you DID get this card to use in May. Then imagine in Sept we used our eight DDP table service credits on FOUR signature meals and would then have use of the card for the remaining night's dinners.

Plus, can you use the DDE for Grand Floridian tea (which would be an out of plan expense for us)? Also, if one was on the dining plan, but had out of pocket expenses for appetizers/alcohol, could one use the DDE for that portion? I think possibly not, BUT what if there were four people eating on the dining plan and additional guests at the table who were not...could the card be used for a discount for their meals? For like when we meet up with our DIS pals, you know.;)

She's thinking again... this is dangerous... besides... TIW is now up to $100 - they raised it a couple of weeks ago...

You speak wise grasshopper! Are you trying to influence me?

I'm planning on doing the plan in Sept when we have our group outing.

The DDE card would be useful then for all of the "extras."

The card could be used for everyone eating, I believe it is good for parties up to 12 people.

I stand corrected, it is good for parties up to 10 and is good for EVERYTHING including alcoholic beverages.

I had actually done a bit of planning, this afternoon, looking at menus, and based on dinner. the now "Tables in Wonderland" card would save us about $100 off the dinners for our week in WDW. So, there would be a net savings of $25 for the first trip.

Perhaps I should reconsider?

I take back what I said. They raised it to $100! I remember that my first DDE was only $50!

I checked, I think you're mistaken. The price is $100 for FL residents, however the price is $75 for AP holders. I will be an AP holder were I to buy one.

I forgot you were special... ;)

So it would come in handy all those times we just happen to 'pull over for a cocktail', eh?

Now....is it restaurants only....can it be used in a resort/poolside bar, in the food courts, at counter service locations?

.

I wish the DDP allowed you to choose between appetizer OR dessert, as so many more of those appeal to me that the sweet treats do. I can always hold out for ordering multiple appetizers on the ship however! :thumbsup2

.

Just verified that the TIW card CAN be used in conjunction with the DDP, to apply to the off plan portion of your bill....HENCE...cocktails and appetizers with your dinner :thumbsup2(or lunch....or breakfast) as you are billed that stuff separately.

Also, Disney is doing free dining mid Aug through the first week of Oct...so ADRs are going to be even MORE necessary.

.

ok you WDW experts, what the heck are you guys talking about.... DDE, DDP etc. I'm thinking about a trip to WDW next jan/feb so I need to know for when I really start planning.
