I don't even want to talk about the legs Marilyn. Everytime I make some forward progress, it only gets overshadowed by more regression. They get better, they get worse. Back and forth. Forward and backwards. I'm sick of it.

Now, if I sit up at all, they leak again. It seems I have to lie down constantly in order to get them to stop. I'm getting fed up with it all.

Oh Deb, I just now read this :grouphug: I'm so sorry your legs aren't any better. My back pain is nothing compared to what you have been going through with your legs, I'm so sorry. Don't give up though, they WILL get better

:lmao: Better be sedate excitement then Kathe!!! Sounds like a great trip and so nice to see your son for a whole week.

Thanks Marilyn! It will be nice to see him. He has never wanted to come to disney with me, so we have not vacationed together since our last family drive to PEI to my parent's cottage , gosh, I think that would have been in 1998! We did fly to PEI together in the summer of 2002 to scatter some of his dad's ashes into the ocean , but that certainly wasn't a vacation :sad1:

He does not think he'll be able to fly home for a visit this year, so I am really looking forward to this trip. Although he lives less than an hour from Jasper, he has never been to Banff so part of the trip will be new for him, it will all be new to me!

Oh yeah I guess I forgot to tell that story ...

Well, one slight problem was that the night before, because Shannon was out writing her exam, I let the girls stay up until 9:30pm. Which is bad because their normal bedtime is 8pm.

so at about 5:30am on Saturday morning Shannon and I had gotten dressed and loaded the car and then we went barging into the girls' room said "Good Morning! Who wants to go to Disneyland?"

Well they stirred a bit and even said NO!. Until we explained that we were heading there TODAY. Once it sunk in they were excited and ready to go. I have never seen them get moving and dressed so quickly. But I think Shannon and I blew it with how we phrased the question. I believe they thought we meant "someday" and not right that instant.

So it was cute and funny. Especially the "No" response. I have it all on video tape and will have to transfer it to the web on our return.

They said NO???? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I guess they aren't morning people...

& Great Pics!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Good Luck Deborah!!! Have someone toss some coins in the back seat (floor) for good luck... (it's 3 years and I still have the coins in the back of my car...)

Feel so sad. A daughter of old friends died yesterday. She was 34 and had ME since she was 15. She was at school and Church with our children, and in the same class as our youngest son. We were close friends with her parents and spent many days enjoying time with the whole family, playing games with all the children.

I don't know details, but I am thinking it is related to the ME as at Christmas we received a letter to say she had improved and was able to eat small amounts, so must have been very bad. Her jaw had been paralysed. She had been bedridden for some time and unable to dao anything for herself.

Since she was 15 she has had periods of being bedridden for years at a time, more often having to be in complete silence as the slightest noise caused huge distress. She had immense strength through this, and her faith held her together. She did manage to get a degree away from home when she was doing ok, then started her own dramatic arts business, still managing to maintain independence. However, 10 or more years ago she deteriorated again and it had been a rollercoaster ride since then, with some terrible dips. So very very sad.

No parent should have to bury their child. RIP Lois.

  So sorry Marilyn...

I am VERY excited today! My son called last night with the dates he is able to get off work this summer. We have been able to find a week in August that we can both get off...so YIPPEE...I'll be going to Alberta in August :cool1: I think I'm using airmiles to fly this trip, so I'm just trying to see what might work out for flights. I will fly to Calgary where Brian and his new girlfriend will pick me up. We will spend a few days in Banff National Park, then a couple of days in Jasper National Park, then one day in Hinton, where he lives. The following day he will drive me to Edmonton to fly home!!! Did I say I was excited :dance3: Ouch, except that dancing is hurting my back :headache: :lmao:

Such great news Kathe. We'll want many pictures, of course!

Maybe, but usually it would just get shoved down to where you can only see the top part of it. Oh well, no big deal. :goodvibes

Holly... make sure there aren't any spaces in between the links to your pictures... they should appear next to each other then... (unless it's too big...)

Marilyn:

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm don't know what ME is?

I agree with the sentiments that a parent should never had to bury a child.

Sadly, a good friend of mine is also sharing some terrible news this week. Her boss's daughter, aged 15 comitted sucide last Sunday. Such a shock. This is the 2nd death to affect a local high school in our area in less than a week. Not sure if you've heard the local news of the teenager that was missing off the coast of Santa Cruz. That is the same high school, and sadly his mom works with my nephew. Sadly these boys were drinking at an overnight beach party and he just wandered into the ocean at 4am. Such a terrible week of news for deaths of those that are so young :sad1:

Well, they say they come in threes... one of the son's of my SIL's cousin died of an overdose last week... it makes no sense... :confused3

Marilyn, thanks for sending this. I laughed so hard when I saw John's face and your face all made up and having fun. It was great!popcorn::

I think we should get John that Mickey hat in May...

Thanks Deb, and to everyone for the get better wishes. I had to cancel lunch today but I do think I'm a little better today, I'll just take it easy and rest.

I'm sorry Marilyn and Nan to hear your sad stories:grouphug: It is never easy to lose someone, or to share the sadness of a friend's grief.

The funeral for one of the young boys killed in Friday night's crash is today. His friend's will be a little later, they are waiting for his father to get released from the hospital. I can't even imagine their family's pain. The 25 yr old driver of the other vehicle is now facing 15 charges. His friend who survived the crash, whose mom I work with, is not yet able to even talk about that night.Apparently he was picked up shortly before the crash and did not realize how much his friend had been drinking.

Kathe

Hope your feeling better Kathe... take care and rest and no sumo wrestling for you today... :rotfl:

:grouphug: For everyone!

I just met Conan O'Brien. He's tall, nice and VERY funny! Didn't get a picture with him as I had to come down and cover the switchboard.

LOST TONIGHT! :thumbsup2

.

WHAT??? Go stalk him and get a picture... :rotfl2:

Oh, it's NOT a nursing home. Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home is more like a hotel with group activities and outings. Even the food is delicious.

Mom and Ray were both temporarily in nursing homes before and there's no comparison.

Ray has his own room with a connecting bathroom that's bigger than mine. He has a bed and a sitting area. He's got his own TV. It's more like a studio apartment. He's got the last room down the hall and he has big corner windows looking out onto Blue Mountain. Outside his room is another private sitting area then down a short hall is a mini kitchen and sitting area. Then they have the big kitchen and dining area in the main area. They have activities all day every day and they have outings a couple of times a month. I keep a running account of spending money for him at Mrs. Bush's so he can buy what he wants when he goes out. Ray is very healthy except for the fact that he needs to be babysat 24/7 because of his brain injury.

We provide him with everything we can, but he's not all mentally there to even appreciate it. The only thing that grounded him in reality was mom. Now that she's not in his life....he drifts. And no matter where he's living, without mom he's unhappy. And with his brain injury, he's uncapable of even knowing if he's happy or not.

It's tough for him not being with mom. Where he's living has nothing to do with it.

Sounds like the kind of place we all wish we could go to when we need it... I'm sure it's tough with him missing your mom too...

Sorry to hear this.. Wish we could find something to do to help... :grouphug:

I've decided I will try the dining plan! I've had my ADR'S since the 90 day mark, Marilyn :thumbsup2

Ian, I think it will be a challenge to eat healthy too, but to be honest, I'm looking forward to the desserts ;) I rarely eat them at home, and at least I'll be walking lots in the parks. I know having dessert twice a day will be more than I want though, but I'm reading you can sometimes get fruit or bottled water instead, at the quick service meals. I will probably use at least some of my snack credits for fruit in the morning. I usually bring some breakfast bars from home and just buy fruit for my breakfast anyway.

Kathe

That's a good way to do it and I always seem to lose weight on a vacation... I think I move around more when I'm away...

Oh Deb, I'm so sorry. It sounded so positive a few weeks ago. No wonder you are fed up.

Thanks Marilyn, they were completely dry for about 3 weeks. Now, they leak again without changing anything. It's frustrating.

Hi Kathe and Deb (and Holly cause you know she'll be back soon...) :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Can we hang that leg from the ceiling... maybe that will help???

Have you had any news on your project yet? I hope you get REALLY good news soon!

Kathe

Sorry... if you have your heart on Sumo Wrestling... I can't stop you... I will tell you that if you have back or neck problems or are pregnant they won't let you on most rides at WDW, but go ahead a wrestle... no prob... :thumbsup2

Hi Michelle. How's the project coming? Any news?

How's Barb? Back to normal?

I have not heard about the progress as of this week... I'm trying not to get too crazy... I haven't heard from you know who either so that probably means he has traveled (he fly's private and often leaves very quickly depending on whoever he is hitching a ride with...) (I hear he never has peanuts and a coke...) :sad2: I hope things are moving... it will make things much better for me...

The Queen mum is doing remarkably well... I am making her drink her 8 glasses of water a day and they gave her different meds for her blood pressure and cholesterol and she is feeling much better and she even looks better than she has in the last couple of months. I do believe that this has turned out to be a better thing even though she still scared the daylights out of me...

hahahaha this cracked me up....just the image that I got in my mind.....too funny!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It is my daily profession to make you laugh... or at least smile... :goodvibes

Monica  Thinking about you today too. How are you feeling? Did you manage to get in to the dr's ? Hope you're feeling a bit better

Michelle, I'm glad your mom is doing so much better!

I have to say goodbye for a little, just can't sit any longer, I have to walk or stand or something:confused: Definately won't try the wrestling :sad2: Be back in a little I hope!
