Congratulations! When is your trip?

June 7-14. But I need to call and ask if I can add a day on because I actually wanted to get there on the 6th and start the 7th already there and ready to play! :cool1:

It's Summertime!

It was 40F when I left work today. I did not wear my hat or gloves, and had my coat open.

The mile walk from the commuter train home was great! And I think one of the best things was there there was also still some light in the sky!

Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 49F or even into the 50's!

Lucky you! It didn't get out of the 20s here today. We're only supposed to have one warm day. Tomorrow 47, but rainy and windy, so it probably won't feel warm.

A woman was sitting at a bar enjoying an after work cocktail with her girlfriends when an exceptionally tall, handsome, extremely sexy middle-aged man entered. He was so striking that the woman could not take her eyes off him. The young-at-heart man noticed her overly attentive stare and walked directly toward her. (As all men will.)

Before she could offer her apologies for so rudely staring, he leaned over and whispered to her, 'I'll do anything, absolutely anything, that you want me to do, no matter how kinky, for $20.00 only on one condition...'

Flabbergasted, the woman asked what the condition was. The man replied, 'You have to tell me what you want me to do in just three words.'

The woman considered his proposition for a moment, and then slowly removed a $20.00 bill from her purse, which she pressed into the man's hand along with her address. She looked deeply into his eyes, and slowly and meaningfully said....

'Clean my house.'

We still have a little snow, but we are supposed to get to 60 degrees on Sunday!!

I don't know if you guys know this or not, but about 20 years ago I took an illegal person. She had snuck into the USA from Trinadad. She was 15 years old and had been abused by her Uncle (that is who she was staying with here in the USA)

Daniel was a baby....she moved in with us and we home schooled her enough to pass the GED. We went to laywers and started all the processes to make her legal. (She did after 10 years get green card and just 3 months ago became a citizen of the USA) We let her friends come live with us on and off. She applied to George Mason University and got in. She got her 4 year degree in 6 years. She is now 1/2 though her masters. At 25, she met the man of her dreams and they married and moved in with us. They saved money and bought a house. Sold that house at the height of the housing market and made $200,000 and bought a single family home. They had a little girl.

We love Maryann...she is like our daughter. She calls me mom and her daughter call me Grandma. She has a mom and dad in poverty in Trinadad. We send them money and things...to help them....

Well I bought Maryann's mom an airplane ticket to come here! She arrives tomorrow!! Maryann is about the have her 2nd child, a son. Her mom really needs to be here with her and I am so happy I can help!

We have a baby shower for her tomorrow....baby should be here soon!!

Wow Lisa, that's so cool! Has Maryann's mom seen her since she left Trinidad? What a wonderful difference you make for so many people. I hope I'm able to do the sorts of things you do someday. :goodvibes

So where is everybody? Gaylean is probably worn out from working all those full days. Deb is hopefully laying down after supper to rest those legs. Where's everybody else?

I'm here, but going to take a shower and get chili cooking after that, then I'll be back....did ya hear my Arnie voice????:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi All....I'm up for a bit again. John will be home soon with KFC dinner. We're trying the boxes for the first time. Sorry Bubba. I've been pretty good this week food wise....since I spend so much time lying down, I don't eat anything anymore. Dinner tonight will be the first thing I've eaten all day....so I can afford some calories.

I have a grand announcement to make......dadadadum.....for the first time in many months.....John does NOT have to wrap a new dressing on my leg. Both legs are dry. YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! It took a week of lying down to get them this way. I'm up to 6 hrs a day......in many intervals......and I'm stopping there.....actually, it takes 24 hrs to do the 6 lying down so that's enough......but it is working. The swelling, or edema, is down by 50% in both legs. It may take another week to get them back to normal size, but we're moving in the right direction and have stopped the leaking!!! I'm still taking antibiotics so this infection should go away and the wounds can finally heal. I'm so relieved.

Just wanted to share this great news with all of you. John just got home and I'm going to eat some dinner.

WAY COOL!!!! Next step... tap dancing lessons... :cool1: :cool1:

I swear, planning this trip is driving me nuts! Way back in the beginning, my first plan was to book a pirate themed room at Caribbean Beach Resort and use the pay for 4 days get 3 days free. They didn't have a pirate room available that week. Then, I figured since I wanted to do the pay for 4, get 3 deal, I might as well go for one of the Pop resorts and really get a great deal. Those came up as unavailable. So then I completely changed the plan and was trying to get something offsite for a good deal and share with my friend and her daughter. She started getting wishy-washy on me and decided she only wants to stay 3 or 4 days. Then I got the email yesterday from my TA about more rooms being released for the pay for 4 get 3 deal. So I emailed back right away for a quote. I got a phone call today and I can get Pop Century that week for $1595 for all 4 of us (if my friend still goes), including admission to one park each day. So I decided to take the deal and not wait for my friend to decide. My tax refund didn't get deposited today like it was supposed to, but the IRS says it will be there by the 10th for sure (Tuesday), and the TA has the reservation on a 5 day courtesy hold (5 days from Monday when booking opens), so I told her I'm going to just pay in full by that date and get it out of the way. Then, if my friend decides not to go, oh well, we'll still be booked. If she decided to go and only stay 3 or 4 days, I'll figure the cost per day and ask her for her share for those days.

IT'S REALLY HAPPENING! WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY IN JUNE!

:cool1:WAY TO GO DEB! :cheer2:This is great news! You deserve to celebrate with that KFC! :goodvibes Hmmm.....I'm tempted to run out and get some. I live in a dangerous spot because less than a mile down the road is, McDonalds, Burger King, Arby's, KFC, Long John Silvers, Popeye's, Rally's, Wendy's, Tim Horton's, Hungry Howie's pizza, Jersey Giant subs, and Subway. They're all in a row on both sides of the street, just down the road. :scared:

Holly you really need to move... :rotfl:

Congratulations! When is your trip?

JUNE

:cheer2: YEAH DEB!:cheer2:

Ohhh I can hear Gershwin playing that toon now...

Oh, and I almost had to go down to Orlando on Monday for a few days. That was a last minute thing that cropped up after lunch today, but it turned out I didn't have to go.

I was a little disappointed. I thought I might be able to see Monica again.

2 trips without is???   The dogs AND Sukie won't be talking to you after that...

That will be great Lisa... Have fun!!! :grouphug:

Thanks dear! Have fun at your meetings today.

It was only 1 meeting. Then there is 1 meeting again tomorrow. And today's meeting only lasted about 1 hour. Not sure how long tomorrow's will go but I'm not holding my breath. I have really low expectations about that one.

Today's was really good and it determined that have a little less work to do for the Provincial election. Which is a good thing!

However, it may mean that I won't be home until Monday night now as it looks like I will have another meeting in PG on Monday. So I might as well just stay up there on Sunday night and drive home Monday and stay home Tuesday.

When Maryann and Nigel decided to get married, we worked with the Trinadadian embassy, and were were able to get her mom a 10 year visitor visa (that was one time living here in DC really helped). She came up for the wedding. We got her a ticket when Kira was born. Once the 10 years expired, they were happy to re-issue the visa for her because we all made sure all the laws were followed and all of the "t's were crossed and i's were dotted".

Once Maryann got her Green card, she could travel to Trinadad. Her dad has never come the USA. So she had gone home to see her dad.

Here is the scary part...Maryann is now 36 and I am 51 and I am older than her mom!! Maryann also had 2 older brothers. (I think her mom was 12 when she started having children.) One committed suicide (he hated Trinadad that much) and the other one came here to the USA after Mayann had success here. He has worked had and should be getting his green card soon!!

I am glad Pres Obama did not nominate me for Sec of Labor...I would have embarassed him with all my illegal alien ties!! But at least I pay my taxes!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
