hello all, well I lost 2.2lbs this week, and it was with superbowl food! wow...so I am starting to feel a bit better, I just wish the weather would warm up. I bought two Jillian dvd's, they are still in the packaging they came in. Will break them out soon, I just haven't felt up to doing much of anything.

Happy Friday and thank goodness the weekend is here.
WOOHOO! Way to go V! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Good luck with Jillian. :scared:

Checking in on my morning coffee break.

Close... but nope... That's Anna and she's next to John Worden... and I don't think they fought in 4th grade... but you are close... go a little higher....

okay, I can't see the picture here at work, but when I get home, I'll check again, so wait for me to guess again, before you spill the beans.

Welcome to Friday! Your Gateway to the Weekend!
Your Moist Face Towel and Mints Will Be Here Shortly

Today is my last day in my old role.

Yesterday I moved desks. Monday, I start my new position in earnest. I'm rather clueless about what I'm supposed to be doing.

I have two area of responsibility, that have absolutely nothing to do with each other and no synergy. In fact, they go together like, soup and lumber, spaghetti and astronomy, Barbie and Pitt the Elder.

I do know that for one of them, I've been the objective to achieve a cost reduction of 60% by December. No pressure.

My boss told me the second piece of my role was bolted on by the CIO at the last minute.

This weekend I am pretty much on my own. Sukie has to work tonight (Friday) and tomorrow night (Saturday). Anyone want to play?

wow! 60% cost reduction. Do they actually consider that realistic? My work has started a bunch of cost reduction measures. Some I disagree with. They've cut the janitors down drastically. My department doesn't get them at all (I'm the lab supervisor). Its not a big deal to empty our own garbage cans twice a week, but I wish they'd bring them in to do the floors once a week. I know they are cheaper than me, so instead my staff takes turns doing the floor once a week. Not effective use of our time. Another reduction has been to the incentive program (money for safety records, no sick days, etc).

Saying Goodbye to Mother

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I love it!

:cheer2: Way to go! :grouphug: Glad to hear you are finally starting to feel a little better. I did not do so good on my weight loss - I ended up gaining 1.3lbs this week. :sad2: Oh well, live and learn, and today starts another week.

Just thought I would check in and let Shannon know the plane landed safely last night. I didn't get out of the airport until after 10pm so I didn't call asyou requested. But I do know you will be checking in here shortly so I will consider this my call in.

And if you are feeling really bored, Shannon, feel free to look into week long stays in Cancun for next Feb/Mar - preferrably all-inclusives.

Thanks dear! Have fun at your meetings today.

Ian, that result usually only comes from headcount reduction and I remember you mentioned that your company has had any layoffs. Are you being set up to be the bad guy? I hope not, that job sucks :sad2:

It's a completely unrealistic expectation, but for the moment I will hold my tongue and collect facts, then let the facts speak. I think we can achieve some economies via automation of software testing, but not what they are thinking. Plus, it's not that automation reduces headcount, just trades from lower, less expensive skill sets to higher, more expensive skill sets.

(Bet you didn't think I could talk big boy talk, eh? I'm more than just a pretty face!)

Make it work!!:rotfl2:

Are you really on that picture?

Marilyn... I'll tell Michael you said so and yes... i'm in there somewhere... think right side... long hair...

Your souvineer photos will be available in the lobby on the way out...

And what are we doing tomorrow???

YAY Shannon! :cheer2: Now you know what I meant, huh? :rotfl2: Isn't she crazy? I actually feel no worse today, so I'm confident I'll do it again after work. My legs are horribly stiff every time I stand and it's hard to bend to sit, and when I walk, my muscles like to sort of give out. But I'll work through it and will be fine in a few days. :thumbsup2 You keep it up too Shannon! :goodvibes

Holly try stretching a bit during the day... just to keep limber...

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 On the weight loss and feeling better... get lots better before you throw yourself into anything big...you don't want to relapse... then you'd nowhere and we want our V back telling us what we should be eating for dinner :goodvibes

I just emailed my sister...they stayed at a place in Cancun last year for spring break - I'll let you know what she says... They also just stayed at a nice place in Cabo after Xmas... EVERYTHING was included including drinks...

3rd day of the workout and I still can't fully do the whole thing, but I'm getting closer! :thumbsup2 My biggest weakness is pushups. My arms just aren't strong enough to push 200 pounds up and down! :rotfl2: Didn't take me as long to catch my breath after finishing. :goodvibes

Remember 2 nights ago I was craving sweets but didn't have any in the house? Well, I still don't have any. I resisted the urge to buy some! That NEVER happens! Friday is usually my day to stock up with junk food on the way home and splurge by pigging out that night. Not tonight! For my snack at work, I had walnuts mixed with dried cherries. Might not be great for me, but has to be better than the poptarts I usually munch on all day. :thumbsup2

Hi All....I'm up for a bit again. John will be home soon with KFC dinner. We're trying the boxes for the first time. Sorry Bubba. I've been pretty good this week food wise....since I spend so much time lying down, I don't eat anything anymore. Dinner tonight will be the first thing I've eaten all day....so I can afford some calories.

I have a grand announcement to make......dadadadum.....for the first time in many months.....John does NOT have to wrap a new dressing on my leg. Both legs are dry. YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! It took a week of lying down to get them this way. I'm up to 6 hrs a day......in many intervals......and I'm stopping there.....actually, it takes 24 hrs to do the 6 lying down so that's enough......but it is working. The swelling, or edema, is down by 50% in both legs. It may take another week to get them back to normal size, but we're moving in the right direction and have stopped the leaking!!! I'm still taking antibiotics so this infection should go away and the wounds can finally heal. I'm so relieved.

Just wanted to share this great news with all of you. John just got home and I'm going to eat some dinner.

I swear, planning this trip is driving me nuts! Way back in the beginning, my first plan was to book a pirate themed room at Caribbean Beach Resort and use the pay for 4 days get 3 days free. They didn't have a pirate room available that week. Then, I figured since I wanted to do the pay for 4, get 3 deal, I might as well go for one of the Pop resorts and really get a great deal. Those came up as unavailable. So then I completely changed the plan and was trying to get something offsite for a good deal and share with my friend and her daughter. She started getting wishy-washy on me and decided she only wants to stay 3 or 4 days. Then I got the email yesterday from my TA about more rooms being released for the pay for 4 get 3 deal. So I emailed back right away for a quote. I got a phone call today and I can get Pop Century that week for $1595 for all 4 of us (if my friend still goes), including admission to one park each day. So I decided to take the deal and not wait for my friend to decide. My tax refund didn't get deposited today like it was supposed to, but the IRS says it will be there by the 10th for sure (Tuesday), and the TA has the reservation on a 5 day courtesy hold (5 days from Monday when booking opens), so I told her I'm going to just pay in full by that date and get it out of the way. Then, if my friend decides not to go, oh well, we'll still be booked. If she decided to go and only stay 3 or 4 days, I'll figure the cost per day and ask her for her share for those days.

IT'S REALLY HAPPENING! WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY IN JUNE!

:cool1:WAY TO GO DEB! :cheer2:This is great news! You deserve to celebrate with that KFC! :goodvibes Hmmm.....I'm tempted to run out and get some. I live in a dangerous spot because less than a mile down the road is, McDonalds, Burger King, Arby's, KFC, Long John Silvers, Popeye's, Rally's, Wendy's, Tim Horton's, Hungry Howie's pizza, Jersey Giant subs, and Subway. They're all in a row on both sides of the street, just down the road. :scared:

Well, the tuna is good for you, so it's not all bad. :goodvibes

This is wonderful news for the start of the weekend!:cheer2:

It's Summertime!

It was 40F when I left work today. I did not wear my hat or gloves, and had my coat open.

The mile walk from the commuter train home was great! And I think one of the best things was there there was also still some light in the sky!

Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to 49F or even into the 50's!

Oh, and I almost had to go down to Orlando on Monday for a few days. That was a last minute thing that cropped up after lunch today, but it turned out I didn't have to go.

I was a little disappointed. I thought I might be able to see Monica again.
