Ok caught up for now.

Time to get back to laying the laminate flooring before game time!

Hi all - I feel so much better just venting. Today I did some some for myself, and John really was clueless to how I felt since I rarely complain to him...will have to remedy that. thanks for listening. It's nice to be able to have you all to talk to.

We're always here for you V....vent away, I'm glad it helps....so does making John aware of what you're going through. The best yet is spending some me time for you!!! Make sure you always take some time to do that. Explain it to John when you do. Happy for you that all is well again.

The dogs went to the groomer and came home with two bows a pc. So cute!

I'm sure that we would all LOVE to see pics of them PLEASE!!!

Holly I do think "your" red neck is showing here :rotfl2:
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I was embracing my inner redneck. ;)

Jeff Foxworthy would say, "If watching a robotic fire-breathing dinosaur bite and rip a car to bits is the highlight of your day, you might just be a redneck!" :rotfl:

Last night was AMAZING...

We of course knew that Wilson was getting his season trophy for 2nd place, but then he one a draw for a set of race tires :thumbsup2 and the he won....

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone....I finally feel up to being awake.....was sick again. I went to the wound doctor appointment this week....I started with a half of a vicoden before the appointment and was in a LOT of pain from the visit. I kept taking more vicoden. I couldn't stay awake and when I did wake up I felt very sick....nauseous and dizzy....so I went back to sleep. Today I'm starting to feel like a person again and I have not had any vicoden since yesterday afternoon. The legs still hurt but it's bearable pain. Michelle I know you can relate.

The wound doctor didn't put me in the hospital...thank all goodness. They cultured both legs and will phone in an antibiotic when they get the results. I have to lie flat...no more elevating...it's not enough. I have to stay lieing down for as long as possible every day. I have a hard time doing this because of sinus and back problems....but since the legs are worse and need the attention now, I just have to let the sinus and back bother me and just suck it up. So far I have only managed two hours a day at two separate intervals....not good enough.

The doctor insists that I get the edema swelling down so that it will stop leaking so that I don't get infections. That's the key. The only way for me to do it is to lie flat. I'm going to try to lie down for the whole game while watching the superbowl later. Wish me luck.

I also have to wet a wash cloth with epson salt and lie it on my legs on top of the wounds directly and keep the cloth damp to soak out the water in the legs. We haven't started doing that yet because the legs hurt too much so far. We'll start that during the week....maybe in a day or so when they don't hurt as much anymore.

I have to do it and make it work. The alternatives are worse.

So sorry Deb. It is a long hard road for you, so I hope and pray that this current advice, and antibiotics when you get them really work. At least watching the superbowl when you lie down will pass the time.

okay, last bit about last night. There was an award created last night for a group of 4 boys (just the next level up from Willie) in cadets for driver development. The cadet class of 9-12 year olds was realy exciting to watch this year, lots of good racing. So those boys got there plaques and then there was more raffle prizes and then Wilson's award was presented. Willie thought he was getting an award for just Kid Karts, so he was happy, but not that impressed. He didn't realize until we got the car that he one the award out of all the kids 16 and under at the track. All the older boys that he thinks are so good and cool, he beat. It was very humbling for Paul and I to have him reconized for all his efforts last year. He was the only kid at the track that opted to race in both club and IKF. A few of the other boys did one IKF and then quit. Willie really did a great job last year not only coming in 2nd in his club but also 2nd in Northern CA. The boy that one 1 place in club raced one IKF race and didn't do well, so he just quit. It really shows that Willie could compete will locals at their track all around Northern CA and come in 2nd over all. Okay Big soap box I know. But I'm so proud of him and the hard work from last year. I just hope as he goes forward in his new season (with an extra 25MPH) that all will go well and safe.

Go Speed :car:
Oh Nan, that's so major! You have every right to be so proud of him, and we're all happy to hear all about it! We're all proud of him too! Wilson must be floating on a cloud!

I need help and advise.

Gretchen danced Friday night till 11pm and yesterday it was all day till 5pm. See a few pics below!! We had fun!!

She was fine. During the night she started crying...sore throat ... fever...I started Tylenol and have been doing Advil.....tylenol.....every 2 .5 hours alternating them....It is now 3:19 Eastern and she is 104.5 degree fever. This kid NEVER gets sick.....She has never ever been to the doctor for a sick call....broken bones yes.....well checks yes.......scatched eyeballs yes.....but never sick......

She has a tepid cloth on her and she is drinking a lot of grapefruit juice for me.

She is not throwing up or anything....no runny nose....no cough.....just this big fever that I seem not to be able to control.......
Gretcehn is in the middle

It's strep throat, Lisa. When your throat hurt so badly it makes you cry, with no other symptoms except high fever, it's strep. I've only had it 3 times in my life, but it's so extreme, I've never forgotten how it feels.

Deb, I'm so sorry you have to go through this.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug: Sending you a million hugs.

Well, we didn't go sledding. It's just too warm, the hill would be all slushy and we wouldn't be able to slide down but would just get stuck. We didn't even have to wear our coats when we went out! :cool1: Tyler was all excited, thinking spring is here, but I told him it's just a break from winter for a day, we have lots of winter left. Nobody had coats on and everybody was smiley everywhere we went.

No luck finding boots for Tyler. No stores have them anymore. Bummer. We looked at more TVs and I fell in love with a 42inch Sanyo. So we looked at TV stands too because it certainly won't fit on the one our 19inch TV is on. There was a 19inch TV sitting on the shelf below the 42 inch one I want, and Tyler couldn't believe the size difference when I showed him the size of our current one compared to what we're getting! :rotfl2: So my plan is to get it on SATURDAY so I'll have all day to assemble the TV stand and will have to have one of my neighbors help me lift the TV onto it, then I can play and experiment before picking Tyler up. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! :cool1:

I LOVE MY NEW PINK VACUUM!!!! I had a real eye opener about how crappy my old vacuum is. Tyler vacuumed one of our smaller rugs in the hallway today and I was shocked at how much dirt and fuzzy stuff was in the dirt cup from just a small rug! That shows how little the other vac was picking up. Wow! It honestly looks like a new rug! Since we were both so amazed at how well the new vac works, Tyler asked me if that can be his new chore. Um.....YEAH! :thumbsup2

Well, the pirate adventure still continues, which is why I have so much DIS time. I play a bit too, but Tyler usually doesn't like me screwing up his storyline! :rotfl2:

Off to fix supper. I think we'll both get to bed early tonight. But first he has to pick up his stuff that's on the living room floor so he can vacuum. :thumbsup2

Thanks Marilyn, yes it has been a long time with both ups and downs....we'll be coming up on two years this spring.

Yes, watching the game will hopefully help me to be able to lie down for a good long while.

Ya gotta admit, it's better than being in the hospital.

Thank you too Holly. It's good to get the hugs. I just keep thinking....it could be worse so be thankful and just take care of it.:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

That thought alone should keep you horizontal Deb!!!;)

Here we go.....this is John during his senior year of HS in 1969.

This is me taking a graduation pic with the boys cap and gown on....they wore red and the girls wore white....so I took my pic in red, but on graduation day I had to wear white.....a rebel even then....it was 1974.

This is me and John at our wedding....we had it at home in Sag Harbor, NY in 1990.

This is me and John a year or two after we were married when we went to Bethel, NY to the actual site of Woodstock.

It's fun stolling down memory lane.

Look at you two Deb and John!!! So sweet!!! A young John without a beard. Has he always had a beard whilst you have known him?

Meant to go to bed at 10pm, but it is nearing 11pm now. So, goodnight.:wave2:

The Dis clock is 50 mins slow.

It's strep throat, Lisa. When your throat hurt so badly it makes you cry, with no other symptoms except high fever, it's strep. I've only had it 3 times in my life, but it's so extreme, I've never forgotten how it feels.

Daniel had strep throat 30 times by the time he was 12 years old. Gretchen has never had it at all. I took her temp about 1 hour ago and it was 103 degrees and she had been sleeping for the hour. She feels warm, but she is not steaming any more. When she wakes up, she can have an advil.

She NEVER cries...so all the tears makes me wonder if this is strep or not.

I hope it is not strep.....but if she still has a temp in the morning, I will run her to the doctor. She has an Ortho doctor tomorrow morning, I will cancel that for sure.
