It is kind of funny, but I think I'll just ignore. I only joined it to be able to catch up with everybody from our cruise, but was happy to reconnect with some friends who've moved to other states. :thumbsup2 And my childhood best friend, we met when I was 4 and stayed super close until our early 20s when we had a falling out over a guy, we've slowly been trying to rebuild the friendship for about 5 years, well, her little brother just sent me a friend request a couple of days ago. She and I used to terrorize him like crazy when we were kids! :rotfl2: He turned into a very handsome guy! :goodvibes He never married, but had an "oops" like I did with Tyler, and he's now dad to a 1 or 2 year old.

That's the good side of FaceBook! :thumbsup2

The ONLY bit of curiosity is to see what the guy who contact me looks like now. He was no oil painting back in 1972, so I wonder what he looks like now.

disappointment morning here....Paul's mom called yesterday and made a date with Molly for a beading class for this morning. Well she called about an hour ago and told me that she didn't know where Dick (FIL) went and we'd have to do it again another day. I suspect she had been drinking, as it sounded so in her voice. Molly of course was let down again. I had to call Paul to tell him (he is working at a coffee shop) and he is mad and wants to confront her, but it's a lost cause. I'm thinking that I might start keeping a log, so that everyone (well us at least) can see how often she agrees to stuff, even creates events and then fails to come for them...so sad and hard to explain to a child :sad2:

I'm so sorry. Please give Molly a BIG HUG from us.

I'm also so sorry that Paul has to deal with this.

:rotfl2: That puts a ridiculous picture in my head, of a row of people hooked up to machines, keeping the gas lines full of people's gas :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think I should have slept longer. :rotfl2:

Okay, I'm off to do some painting before taking the girls swimming.

I know. I get a similar picture.

By the way, the at first I misread you posting and thought you wrote you need to get some "planting" done.

I was wondering to myself, is Shannon nuts? What's she using, a pickaxe to get through the frozen ground?

Nan, sorry to hear about Molly's disappointment. Please pass on  and :flower3: to her.

she says to send you  and :flower3:

I asked her if she was sad and she said, nope, she nevers expects Grandma to come thru with what she says. Such a sad thing for a kid to feel. It makes me so sad and mad at MIL :furious:

We are back from errands.

Its' SOOOOOOOOOO WARM out!

The temperature is 37F!!!!! I wore a light jacket and no gloves! We rolled down the windows in the car.

Just goes to show how funny perceptions can be, and how warm 37F can feel after subzero temperature.

I suppose there was an "incident" this afternoon, if hitting Sukie with Mrs. Fezziwig counts as an incident.

He drives me nuts because he won't get in the car when we're in the garage, and he stands outside under the tracks. Well today I sort of side-swiped him when I was backing out. He was perfectly OK, or was until I backed up over him a few times.

(Just kidding, about the backing up over him).

---------------------------------------------------

I must be in a good mood today, because I was acting out at the shopping center.

For the life of me, I don't know why people stare at Sukie so much. He looks perfectly ordinary to me. It wasn't as if he was even TRYING to attract attention to himself. Believe me, there's a big difference.

For some reason every time I caught a guy staring at him, I would point and say in a fairly loud stage whisper, "Look! He thinks you're hot!"

Quite frankly it's a miracle we make it home in one piece from our little shopping excursions.

That is sad. Probably too late now, but can you take Molly to a beading class to sort of make her feel better? My dad & stepmom often do this to Tyler too. They'll tell him on the phone that they'll come visit the following weekend, and then they don't or change their plans. They've said in the past, "Oh, he won't remember we told them we'd come". WRONG. He sure does and counts down the days. :sad2: I had to tell him quite a long time ago that some people just have a hard time doing what they say, and although it's just not fair, we just have to remember that about Grandpa & Grandma Bea and not get excited about plans with them until we know it's going to happen. In fact, he will sometimes flat out ask them "Are you SURE?" when they make plans to visit and he'll tell them "because sometimes you don't show up". :rotfl2: I'm glad he says this to them because they need to realize that he already has them figured out.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:He's probably fat and bald and missing teeth.

:rotfl2:I know, I felt the same way! It's not as warm here, only 25, but the sun is shining, so it makes it feel warmer to me. I didn't have to wear gloves and wore a lighter coat. Nice!

Oh my gosh, you totally crack me up! But maybe that's the real reason they're staring at Sukie, and you're really trying to run him over out of jealousy! ;)

No? Oh, well, I tried. :rotfl:

Well, I feel a bit productive today. Not as much as some Saturdays, but definitely much more productive than the Saturdays when I sleep all day. :thumbsup2

Went to get my tires, but they're out of stock on my size, which is strange because I figured it would be a common size. So they're going to order them and I'll go back next Saturday at noon. Our days during the week are just too hectic to try to get it done then.

So, since I had some time on my hands, I went shopping. I could have gone to work for a while, but really needed to get some groceries. Also got a new vacuum. And looked at TVs again. And TV stands. Got a couple of surprises for Tyler, 2 DVDs. Mary Poppins and The Karate Kid. I thought we bought Mary Poppins last week when I picked up a bunch of Disney DVDs for 59 cents each at Goodwill, but when we got home, we found a Veggie Tales movie in the Mary Poppins case. That's OK, because we like Veggie Tales, and after all, it was only 59 cents, but he just asked if we could get Mary Poppins somewhere else. He loves the goofy things the guy in the movie does. And Karate Kid was only $5.00, so I just got it because I think he'll like it (and I love it too).

Bad news on the pit passes for tonight. Menard's was giving them away, and they're all gone. Both Menard's stores were out. But that's OK because Tyler never even knew about them, so no big deal. Maybe next year. I'm still super excited for the show! Got a cute new pink camera case, so I'll get to use that tonight. It's really cute, looks just like a little shiny pleather clutch purse, and has a sippered compartment at the back where I'll put money and won't need to bring a purse tonight. :thumbsup2

OK, off to do dishes and then go pick up Tyler. I'll bet he's driving his dad & stepmom crazy with how excited he is about the monster trucks! I talked to him on the phone yesterday and he was jabbering like crazy about it and went nuts when I told him his favorite truck will be there! :rotfl2: But then his dad had to go and tell me about how dangerous it is to go to that. :rolleyes2 Whatever.

okay not sure what is sadder the grandparents that just change their minds and bail or the drinking problem that causes my MIL to bail on her plans. Both terrible in my mind. I wish Paul would just tell them off and to go jump, but he always wants to try to make it better (which can't happen since we aren't the problem):sad2:

Have fun with the trucks tonight :thumbsup2

I just got a facebook friends request from one of my high school friends. At least I have had contact with him the past few years, but he is definatly and 'entrepenuer' (or however the heck you spell it), so I don't think it will be long till he tries to sell me something! :lmao: I just noticed he has 219 friends! I think he's doing a little networking there.

Wow, 219 friends. I had trouble coming up with a piddly number of friends for the 25 things thing.

Too bad they don't have an enemies feature. I might be able to come up with 219 enemies.

I'm so glad to be getting your Saturday jaunt tales again.

OK, maybe I'm bored, but I was on Youtube, this time looking at toy commercials.

Back in 1962 (or 1963?) this was my favorite toy (was I a geek or what?):

I also remember at the same time all of the girls getting this doll:

And now for the most spectacular find. One of the primo mascots of the Panama Canal crossing ..... TAMMY!

I have a bag with most of her cloths that I got when I bought her in the garage sale (along with her very naked brother Ted).

As a matter of fact, I just found out today that it was her brother! Here all along I've thought it was her boyfriend. Maybe I should burn those photos!

So that's a Luke and Leia type thing then. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
