When are you going to be here? How about making a reservation to have dinner with us?!? Don't worry, we know how to find you! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That would be great!!! We arrive on April 29th for 5 + weeks, but the first 2 weeks eould be best for a meal as we have family after that.

Any ideas?

:beach: Good news! We just booked an Eastern Caribbean cruise for MARCH 28!!!!

Now that's some\thing to look forward to!!!!!:beach::beach::beach::beach:

That IS something to look forward to. Are you taking your mom?

ok, this is going to sound entirely wrong...in these PC days.....Patrick came home today complaining that he can't understand his new supervisor. he says she talks a different language. I said it was probably English with a Spanish accent....he says " I don't like that language". I just have to laugh, because Patrick is hard to understand sometimes and we call it a Patrick accent! When people cannot understand him, he starts to speak very slowwwwwly and very loud! I guess to help us understand his language! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wow what a day. My mom and I went to the mall today and then went back to her house to scrapbook. SHe was on the phone and I was walking around playing with a toy. We had been home more than 15 minutes and I looked over and yelped as I saw my dog sitting on the couch just staring at us. She wasn' t moving and didn't come greet us. I sat down and petted her and took her back outside. While she was outside I noticed she was very skinny and was not barking at strange things (she always parks) but lucy was. Well tonight she came back in and sat on the same spot on the couch. My sisters friend reached over to pet her and she snapped at her. Well the dog has a vet appointment Monday as I think she is sick (oh and she is constantly shaking). She is only 7 years old and I think she is going nuts. We will see what the vet says. My mom also want to let her stay inside since something is wrong so we need to house train her (we can put her in her cage when company comes). My other dog is completly fine and happy.

Oh and my dad called this morning to say he needed a ride from the ER. Of coarse I went but it was very strange.

Hope your dog is ok Jill.

Ohhhh Marilyn....

May hours are out...

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm

I saw they were out, but haven't looked yet as i read not everything was there yet. Or, which could be worse - they are cutting back on lots of things, such as Wishes.:sad2: It is the end of May into June I am more concerned about, and am hoping as it will be a busier time that more shows etc will be on.

Well, finally, I've had a look at the May park hours are up - on here, not the Disney site!

There are some disappointments including the biggie that Wishes is not going to be on every night, just 3 or 4 times a week. Some plans are still in the planning stage too. Can you imagine MK just closing at night without Wishes to end the day?:sad1:

I'm just getting so sad about the whole recession thing. I know they have to do something, but dumbing down the whole experience is very sad. I guess jobs are more important, I know that. Our tickets and car hire prices rose dramatically just before Christmas(I'm talking £40 for a 14 day park ticket, for a family of 6 that is £240, or around $400 extra) as the exchange rate caught up. I know that isn't Disney's fault, but they aren't doing much to encourage folk.

Ah well, I guess our daughter and family will enjoy it just the same as they have nothing to compare it with, just the Paris parks.

Still hoping they haven't finished finalising days etc, so perhaps things will change.

Would you like Sukie and I to stand under your balcony at SSR, waving sparklers and sing?

Actually, I think Disney could do something about prices. Their pricing strategy is partly based on costs, and mainly based on what they think the market will bear and what they can get away with.

I would wager that the price increase in December was dreamed up well in advance of the financial collapse and was implemented before they fully understood how the economy would hurt them.

I heard a piece on public radio this week that the bottom has fallen out of vacations, and especially family vacations.

Disney is choosing to respond by free dining, I suspect however that will not be enough, because the economic situation while of course base on what's going on in the market has very deep roots in fear.

You can't battle fear with a meal plan.

I see you were all busy last night.

Ken - you seem to be very busy posting photos ... perhaps I should start posting photos????????? Also, 500 grams (1.1 pounds) of cooked bacon has 61 points. 500 grams of Canadian bacon has 22 points.

We're stuck in the house this morning. The gas company is coming for a mandatory safety inspection. I finally couldn't ignore the notices to schedule an appointment, because they told me that if I didn't have one, they would shut off the gas.

Not an issue with the inspection, I just couldn't be bothered.

So now we have one of those 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM windows and stuck in the house until this afternoon.

The name of our gas company is, "People's Gas."

What were they thinking when they named that utility?

I never said you weren't. I said go and take a pic of yourself... Just to prove you know how to take a pic ...

Where'd everyone go? Here we are sitting beside each other on the couch and conversing via the message board by ourselves as Michelle and Bubba have ditched us and Gaylean and Nan have been no shows all evening and we have no idea what happened to Holly...

Sorry, I fell asleep watching the bacon clip. :rotfl2: That's strange because I LOVE bacon! Anyway, I was too tired to post a goodnight, so just stumbled to bed.

That is all true Ian. There is such a fear of the unknown, and each day the news bombards us with worse forecasts. Disney seems to be making the wrong choices, but then I don't know much about these things. They need to encourage all types of people. I guess the Free dining Plan at least keeps the restaurants going.

Over here, if they come and do a check, and find something a little faulty, they turn the gas off anyway until you get someone to fit it!!

Maybe they started out with higher ideals and as normally happens things change down the line.

Good morning Ian! Good afternoon Marilyn!

Nothing going on here today. I plan on getting new tires put on my car today, then maybe a little laundry and grocery shopping. Fortunately, I don't feel the need to sleep all day today, but do want to read in bed and nap a bit more. :goodvibes

No shoveling is needed today, so I should go to the gym, BUT Tyler and I plan on going sledding again tomorrow, so that will be a good enough workout to make me feel justified about skipping yesterday and today. :thumbsup2 Plus, I bought some hand weights yesterday to start doing my Jillian Michaels workout DVD! :cool1: Tyler wants to do it with me too, so we can motivate each other to exercize.

The piece on the radio wasn't even referring to people who were out of work not vacationing, but people with income. There is a general panic about. I can't say that I blame people. It's all unnerving.

I think you are lucky in Europe and Canada because at least you have countries with national health plans. We have nothing like that here. When people lose their jobs, they do have the option of paying the health insurance premium on their own, but many people can't afford the premium. It gets worse from there.

But, on the plus side, we prefer to fool ourselves by telling ourselves that we have the "best" health care in the world.

And we probably do have very good health care, for those who can pay it, or for those, who have some sort of health insurance.

Hey Holly, good morning!

How's the weather over there in Lansing? It's going to get up to 35F here today! Above freezing.

Of course, because it is warming up it is grey and gloomy.

Note to Californians, Floridans, and British --- how to tell if it's cold by looking out your window.

Sunny = Frigid (The sunnier the colder)
Cloudy = Warm (The more gloomy the warmer)

Our above freezing day will come tomorrow. It's 15 now and supposed to reach the mid 20s, but tomorrow it's supposed to hit 34! So maybe I'll start winning the battle with the ice build-up that I can't break off the car around the tires because it's been so cold, it's just too hard to break it off. Drives me nuts, especially when it rubs on the tires when driving. When I head out soon to get my new tires put on, the guys at Firestone are just gonna love me when they see all that crap under there. :guilty:

connie - good for you - we are on the 5/16 magic

NO! we aren't going on the MAY cruise....I booked the MARCH 28th cruise, but now we have decided NOT to go at all, instead we will spend that money on our trip to England in June. Gotta buy airfare yet. Our friends keep telling me that Virgin Atlantic is going to have a sale soon, so I've been watching. :jumping1:

I'm almost as excited as Michelle must be when she manages to get to sleep at night. For the first Saturday in a very long time, I don't feel the need to sleep longer! I did go lay down out of habit, but realized I wasn't sleepy, so I just read for about an hour and took a shower and am now having lunch so I can head out soon. :cool1: Could be because I'm super excited about tonight-----Tyler and I get to go to the Monster Truck Show. We've been patiently waiting since last year's show! :rotfl2: One of the trucks Tyler likes best, called Ironman, is going to be there again. It's a Hummer and painted like it has bullet holes in it, and has an American flag on it, and I think the driver wears army camo. ;) And this year, I'm going to get pit passes, so hopefully Tyler can meet the drivers and get up close to the trucks!!!!! :cheer2: I don't know, we've never had pit passes, but I think it will be even more exciting!

(Honest, we really aren't rednecks!) :rotfl2:

The National health care in Canada is good for the reasons you state. It is there for the poor and the rich alike. Unfortunately it isn't all it is cracked up to be. One example is that many of the prescriptions aren't covered by the health plan, so while a person can go and see a doctor and get diagnosed, they still might not be able to afford the prescription.

The other major downside to the national health system is the problem we are facing here in Canada, where you cannot get in to see a doctor. Doctors are seeing so many people that there can be really long delays in getting into see a doctor or getting the necessary operations you may need. We have huge wait times that is the focus of many a political discussion. It is a large debate if we should start to adopt a two-tiered healthcare system. Many people that can afford it or are desperate enough are going to the US or to Europe to get the treatment they require because the wait list here is far too long.

You will hear many stories on the "free" medical system of people using up appointment times because of a "hang nail". For some individuals, they go and see the doctor just as part of the regular routine to get out of the house and talk to someone.

And of course one of the issues with a national system is that the prices the doctors can charge is set by the government, thus we lose some of our doctors to the US and other nations where they can set their own fees and feel they can make more money.

Hey, something funky is going on again with the posts. Ian's question to me about the weather is on this page, but my response to him is on the previous page, BEFORE his post. :rotfl2:
