ok, we are up and ready to roll. I think we are going to AK today. Pretty cold.

I just checked the weather. It's 44F going up to 63F

That is between 61 degrees and 80 degrees warmer than it was here yesterday.

You are not permitted to use 44F or 63F and the words cold together.

You are permitted to say, "It is cooler than usual." "It is cooler than we are used to."

You are not permitted to use the word, cold.

------

Have a blast at AK. It is one our favorite parks.

I wonder why so many people seem not to like it.

It's a beautiful park, and I think one of the best themed and detailed among the 4.

Have a great time!

I can't remember(because I'm old, though I do remember that fact:sad2: ) if I posted this.

Scroll right down and read the reviews!!:rotfl: Plenty more if you move on a page too.

I bet I did post it, but I'm not going back to look. You will just have to humour an old lady!!!:rotfl2:
No, you did not post that before.

Oh my gosh, how funny! I only read everything on the first page, but that's hilarious! Did one person just have lots of time on his hands to create all of that or are a bunch of people joking together? I was cracking up!

If Chicago is in Ohio, I must have been missing something all these years.

A friend of mine used to teach a travel course, and he would start the course every year with a blank map of the US and the students would have to fill in the names o the states.

It was always pretty much a disaster, but one year, a student wrote, "Illinois" in the place, but then wrote "Italy" where Lake Michigan is. A pretty astounding feat in an of itself.

What really surprised me was, didn't she wonder why she had never visited Italy? I mean, it's just next door to Chicago.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Funny, but also sad. Even Tyler already know more states than that. We don't have a blank map, but he can't read, so when he points out where certain states are, he's not reading it. I've been having him remember them by the shape. I told him CA looks sort of like the elbow bent just a little. ;) We have a magnet puzzle of the U.S. on our fridge that he plays around with often.

Well people do put reviews up on Amazon. My guess is that one person started that type of review and it grew. Or, they could all really feel that way. Whatever, it is funny.

We have already been out and completed our grocery shopping.

It is an extremely warm 15F.

Unfortunately, it has started snowing again.

Lucky you. It's still 3 here. Snow wasn't predicted until later in the day, but I woke up to find enough to shovel and it's coming down heavily. I know I've mentioned that I like shoveling, but I've never done it in single digit temps. Not sure how I'll like that. I might even have to zip my coat (I usually don't).

I am finding Facebook extremely creepy.

Yesterday, I received an email from a guy who I was friends with in high school. The last time I spoke to him in was in 1973.

He also stopped speaking to me in 1973 when I came out. That was 36 years ago.

I just realized that I can change my settings so that people can't find me.

I've got nothing to hide, but I really don't know how I feel about people wanting stumble back into my life.

Am I the only one who finds this creepy?

Also, how in the world do you guys keep up with Facebook?

I have so little time, it can be an effort to keep up with this thread.

Cold? Want our 3 degree temp? :rotfl2:

But seriously, HAVE A GREAT TIME! Give everybody a hug from me please! :grouphug:

I'm with you Ian. I can keep up here because it's the only thread I read, but I often go months without checking Facebook because I can't keep up there.

The movie I watched last night was sort of strange, but this one is a bit better so far. It's another one I haven't heard of. It's called "American Crude".

I've just started subscribing to Netflix.

.

Peg has been using Netflix for some time and loves it. We're starting a new list based on the book Jose got me for Christmas "1000 Movies You Should See Before You Die".

Re facebook, I generally check in on the weekends. I tend to leave it 'open' while I'm DISing, as I've had a couple of IM conversations with Peg, Marilyn, Nan that way. :thumbsup2

I thought we'd give Netflix a try (again) especially when I saw that had movies available in Blu Ray.

Good morning DISers. I want to walk to the movies today to see Bedtime Stories. I'm sure Jon will say "I'll meet you there" :lmao:

It is suppose to be in the upper 80s today so it is warm but for some reason 87 feels better in the winter than it does in the summer. I guess because you spend half of the day warming up from the freezing night. Freezing meaning 60.

I'm not sure what happened to everyone last night. Sorry if it was me. I went to bowl and started dancing with Brooke.

Here's my 'feel the economy' story.

This week at work we were all advised that everyone in our Fortune 500 company (except commishioned salespeople and contracted talent) will be taking a five day 'furlough'. That's five days off without pay taken between now and the end of March. Not too bad a hit for us hourly people, as we can take just one day per payperiod and that won't hurt too bad. The salaried folks have to take the whole week at once, which sounds a little more painful to loose that much pay in one hit. The interesting thing is....those managers can NOT touch their "Crack-berries", check e-mails or make phone calls during that week. I know my boss will have a really hard time with that!

Our management team is discussing doing some volunteer projects in the community with their week off...isn't that great? Personally, I have five long weekends coming up...starting THIS weekend! :woohoo:I think this plan is the best option, as we all share the pain but no one looses their job.

Since today was my official 'furlough' day, I decided I could NOT spend any money today. However, I COULD use gift cards. :lmao: So I busted out the Starbucks card and had a nice break this afternoon sitting on their patio and reading my Stephanie Bloom novel. Very nice :thumbsup2

The Starbucks visit sounds wonderful! Hope the furlough stuff doesn't hurt too much :grouphug:

I'm scared. I hope people still gamble :upsidedow My sister's company is going to four days per week. I think it would be alright....I mean better than laid off but they need the money I guess.

DEFINATELY!
