Tyler's out of the bath now, so we're off to play and read bedtime books. Funny story first: I just learned a lesson. Don't let a bubble bath fill up while reading and responding to "just one post". By the time I remembered to check on the tub, it was filled to the top with water and bubbles were coming over the top! Oops!

I just did a Hotwire check for Sept. 5-9th, 2 people and it came up with a range of $36/night for a 2 star, $59/night for a 3 star, and $75/night for a 3.5 star. I've used Hotwire many times for my DL trips and have always been satisfied. The lowest I've gone is 2 star, and it was OK for just me.

What is the story anyway with the wedding party? Do we not know yet or did I miss something? What day is it on and where is it going to be?

I'm so glad to hear you have good luck with this drug. He's having me do 25mg for the first week and then bump up to 50 mg.

That sounds high to start with, I have a friend that took it too, and she only made it up to 25mg. Might want to check with your pharmacy on this also. There are side effects to the drug, so good to double check. Look at the long term issues. Namely neurophy.

It was amazing how quickly it worked. Only thing I didn't like was the tightness in my chest and my jaw & neck were stiff & sore for an hour, but it wasn't severe enough to be an issue and was so worth it to have the migraine gone. I'll find a way to get this drug for sure.

I got some samples, but gave them to another migraine friend (sad bunch that we are) I get relief from my fioricet so I'm not changing that either. My doc does worry about addicition on it, but I'm so low dose and infrequent, so I'm not worring. Seems like all drugs have some side effects, just the long term ones that scare me the most.


I would not think you would be willing to miss Tyler's appointment. Just like his dad joins you on some of them, just insist on joining in for this one. This is such a serious issue I'd think that both of you would be at EVERY appointment. Especially since you live in different houses. If you don't each go how can you both be informed and express what happens when Tyler is in your care. (I'm assuming that you don't speak for each other at doctor appointments)

Oh, the Dr. won't be talking to us adults at this appt., only Tyler. He specifically instructed us that way. But I'm not sure I trust his dad to even take him since he's now protesting meds again, so I'm just going to tell him about it that morning and if he feels the need to come, fine, but I'll remind him the Dr. doesn't want to talk to us, only Tyler. He'll be talking to just the adults at the appt. after that when Tyler's not there again.

Yeah, but Dr. doesn't want all of us adults there, because the 3 of us would just be sitting in the waiting room. He's not even going to take anybody back into the room but Tyler. Next appt after that he'll tell all of us what he's decided. I just have to make sure Tyler gets to the appt.

I get that, but I guess I'm just the hovercopter mom, I'd want to be there regardless and his dad can't mess with it then. I say follow your gut and take him.

Did anything ever happen with the child that was cut at school? Did you speak with those parents yet?

No, we never heard anything from the other kid at school and I haven't seen his parents yet.

not sure, but I think you may just want to drop them a note of appology. Maybe check with the teacher or day care provider to see if the parents are still thinking about this.

It was a small part, but considering she missed so much rehersal I was so grateful she had any part and she loved it!!!

I've been looking at flights to see if I could make it to The Wedding on Sept 4th and give up going to World. So I keep checking the flights and can't find anything less than $800 and we have to jump through hoops to get that price. John hates flying and I hate airports so most likely we won't be able to make The Wedding. So sad. I really want to be there for the occasion. I'll keep checking for airline deals.

Do you subscribe to any of those airline "deal" newsletters? I get one called "Airfare Watchdog" that's pretty good. It covers all the airlines.

We made such a mess pulling everything out that it doesn't look like we've done much. But the cleaning will now commence!

That's what's happening here, although I did get the living room dusted and vacuumed today!

I believe it's to be Thurs. at the Orange Ct. courthouse and the celebration is Sat. in Downtown Disney somewhere.

It seems like the hotel has the same features, one being a kitchen. Do you think it is possible it is the same hotel? I really like it so we were going to book it but it is a lot more through their website.

Yes, I have, in Palm Springs. It was a Holiday Inn Express. I think I've gotten it 3 times. I wasn't really trying to, but I suspected it would be the same place based on the star rating, etc. But I haven't gotten the same hotel anywhere else, although I haven't really tried, either. Once in Anaheim I was pretty sure I was getting a Holiday Inn Express that I'd gotten in the past, but it wasn't. It was still fine, though.

Nan, I like the apology note idea for the other child's parents. I do remember now after another incident (Tyler had put his hands around the throat of his good friend, Tolkien), the psychologist we saw a couple times suggested we be proactive and bring it up to the parents before they had a chance to react and explain to them that there are issues we're seeking treatment for and apologize. Well, I did so, and was in contact with both moms (not 2 different kids involved, Tolkien just has 2 moms) and they each told me they already knew something was different with Tyler and that they had chalked the incident up to whatever his issues are. They knew he didn't mean it because they can see how much the 2 boys like each other. The boys still get together, I've become friends with the moms, and we have an open invitation to go swimming at their house anytime. Tolkien is a great kid and very supportive of Tyler.

So......long-winded way of saying, yes, I will send an apology note to Austin's parents (the current victim).

I have never gotten a bad hotel yet but I'm still worried because it is only 44.00. That is unheard of I think the reason it is so cheap is because it is an extended stay so most of their customers are there during the week. It says it has a full kitchen which is not a usual amenity.

I'd thought about it, but his dad already has plans to take him camping this weekend. The round trip drive to my dad's is 3 hours anyway, and that doesn't work on a weeknight with Tyler. By the time I get out of work and pick him up, it would be bedtime by the time we get to my dad's and then he's grouchy and having a meltdown and it's no fun for anybody.

Holly - not sure if anyone mentioned this or not, but it looks like the Nortriptyline has a generic -- under Pamelor. Maybe your doc will ok this for the generic version?? It's worth a try.

Holly - about the appt tomorrow - 1st of all...THANK GOD!!

I don't like to be devious but my gut feeling is do what you suggested--take him to the appt yourself.....however I would call him as you're going back to the car and tell him to meet you at the dr's. That way you are there, but it gived Dad a chance to be there too.
