We got an offer on the house yesterday that we accepted ::yes:: with just a couple of minor changes in our counter offer that do not involve money, so they likely will accept it. WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: Now the troubles....we would have to be out of the house in 3 1/2 weeks and one of those weeks we are traveling to MT and ID. Oh my!! Time to get those closets cleaned out and packed up I think! So, that means I can retire in 5 weeks and 2 days!!! :hyper: :cool1:  :woohoo:

AWESOME!!

Congratulations Angie and welcome to the land of marching to your own drummer. You will love retirement!

Hi Hon! Hope your day went well.

Carol

Hey, are you calling me a blabbermouth?! ;) :lmao: Seriously, thanks for the thoughts & prayers. :goodvibes I talked to him last night about his upcoming appointment with the psychiatrist, and told him after all 3 appts we'll have a pill he'll take every day that will help his body be more in control and that he'll go to weekly appointments (the counseling) to help him learn other ways to show his frustration, etc. He's OK with all this, except taking a pill. He freaked out because he's convinced it will get stuck in his throat. Good grief! He's never had anything other than chewables, so he doesn't understand the idea that you swallow it with water and it doesn't get stuck! ;)

:moped: Dear Holly, How interesting that you are teaching Tyler to take pills......Patrick and Michael have been taking pills since they were his age, I think Mike was even younger, because he refused to take liquid antibiotics as a small child. :goodvibes

ANYWAY, we have just recently decided to teach Patrick to take hid medicine by himself, instead of us poking it in his mouth. Well, surprise surprise! He is doing a GREAT job! I will say that he doesn't like to have his water until after he swallows the pill......also try teaching Tyler to swallow M&M's then he can have some as a reward! And if he accidentally chews one, it won't taste bad.

Good luck!

Our Aug cruise is a 7 day mexican on the Carnival Pride. The Pride was the ship that was docked next to us when we were in PV.

.

You will love the Carnival Pride. We were on it's sister ship, the Carnival Freedom on the mediterranean cruise after the Trans Atlantic year.

We had a great time!

The cool thing about the Disney Magic....you never know WHO is going to show up fro Krazy Kereoke.

Royal Caribbean Announces Latest for Oasis of the Seas
The Boardwalk is the latest "neighborhood" to be revealed

The largest cruise ship ever built will have a family-focused amusement area called the Boardwalk that will boast a hand-carved merry-go-round, carnival games and a Coney Island atmosphere -- something that has never been tried before on a cruise ship.

The AquaTheater will offer innovative activities both day and night

The AquaTheater, a massive amphitheater around a pool at the back of the ship that will be the site of water-based acrobatic and synchronized swimming shows. During the day the freshwater pool, the largest and deepest ever on a ship, will be open to passengers for swimming and SCUBA lessons.

Fresh cabin designs unveiled, including the industry's first multi-level lofts

On the blueprints are 28 lofts, two-deck-high "loft suites" that will offer expansive ocean views from soaring floor-to-ceiling windows. Each loft, which begin at 545 square ft., features a downstairs living area with a vanity, LCD television and guest bathroom; the upper-level bedroom overlooks this area and also features a master bathroom with his-and-hers shower heads, fog-free mirrors and limestone mosaic tile accents.

Royal Promenade on Oasis will be bigger and better

The Royal Promenade in the center of the vessel will be twice as wide as the ones found on Royal Caribbean's eight Freedom and Voyager class vessels and will run the length of a football field. It will be linked with the ship's Central Park "neighborhood" on the deck above by giant arched skylights, called Crystal Canopies, which will look into the park and sky above. Plus, the Rising Tide bar -- the first moving bar at sea -- will slowly travel up and down between three decks, bringing guests from the Royal Promenade up to Central Park and back again.

Carnival Dream to Replace Glory in Port Canaveral Next Year
New 130,000-ton, 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream -- the line's biggest ship ever -- will home port at Port Canaveral

The ship, currently under construction at Fincantieri's shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, will debut on September 21 (that's 2009) and will offer a handful of Europe sailings before crossing the Atlantic. Once Stateside, it will offer a few cruises out of New York before heading "home" to Port Canaveral. Carnival Dream's first homeport cruise will depart on December 5.

An innovative twist on Carnival's tried-and-true ship designs

Features include:
-The Piazza, an indoor/outdoor cafe and live music venue that has been inspired -- but is not identical -- by Princess' popular piazzas on its newest models.
-Already recognized as an exceptional choice for families, Carnival ups the ante on Carnival Dream, with the fleet's largest-ever kids' facilities and a WaterWorks aqua park.
-Among stateroom options Carnival is introducing some new family-oriented cabins, including several with two bathrooms, and others specially designed to accommodate five guests.
-A wide variety of lounges, bars and nightspots -- including a new dance club concept offering indoor/outdoor access -- will be accessible via an 11-deck-high atrium whose ground level will offer a cantilevered bandstand atop a massive dance floor.

I got a great email from rccl debut this ship. It looks amazing. I love the loft rooms. And the inside rooms that look over the promonade. Can't wait to try it out!

Yes it is. It will get easier when you get updates from her and she is doing well at home. I'm sure you will feel just as proud as her parents.

I kept my Blackberry next to my bed and at 5:15am I got an e-mail from Elizabeth (Vanessa's mom) and they were home.....so her total travel time was about 12 hours including a layover and driving home from the airport. So I e-mailed her back and then about 20 minutes later Vanessa called. I imagine she will be so busy. Their family is travelling to London or one week and to Croatia (sp?) for 2 weeks.....and then school will start up again.

Glad to hear she made it home safely. And doesn't it sound wonderful to live and travel all over europe. Vacation in london and croatia. Here, we're like...going to florida and texas. Just doesn't have the same ring!:rotfl:

Mike and Alice
.

Alice was really nice...She turned 40 on the cruise and she and Mike got to sound the horn on the Magic. I asked how they had arranged this and theu said they were not allowed to say??:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Can he practice with single grains of COOKED rice? :confused3 He could put a piece of rice in his mouth and drink it down with milk or whatever he likes. Maybe by the time the pills are prescribed he will be an old hand at it.

Jan :earsgirl:

When Frank was so sick and taking so much medicine and his throat was dry and closed up, a nurse said to put the pills in a spoon of pudding and it is very easy to get down!!

Lets here the story!

Things are a lot different even since Jon and I got married. He told me the other day "Do you remember when we would put $10.00 in the gas tank and we had to go inside to get change". Plus we didn't have to pay for cell phones or internet and I think all of our utilities were like $200.00 a month. Now it's like $1000.00. And don't get me started on how much it costs to fill up the gas tank now :badpc:
Mine are a bit less than $200/month. But then again, it's just me & Tyler, so that makes a difference. And the cost of living being different in different states helps too. I think it's so interesting to see the differences in costs in other places. Makes me very grateful for my bills!

Sure is!!!

We didn't have hot in my day, and my days of being hot are long gone!!:lmao:

Marilyn, I think we did, but we just didn't know it. When we were preparing for our "surprise" 40th anniversary party we were gathering up old photos and DGS 18 said "Hey, Grandma you were pretty hot back then!":faint: :rotfl: Well, blow me down, I didn't know it!!

:thumbsup2 Leave it to CONNIE!!

This is a much better idea than trying to teach him to swallow grains of cooked rice. M&Ms!!:cool1:

(I think smilies look like M&Ms.)

If Tyler thinks they are too big, let him start with the mini M&Ms!!

YAY CONNIE:yay:

Synchronized swimming!! This should be right up John1's alley!:rotfl2: :lmao:
