Are you planning to go to LA in May 09?

then go to Florida in September 09.

Did you checked the flights?

I think everything go up higher now as the house around here are on market since last March and all of it turn to fixed price.

My boss couldn't sell his flat as he is leaving next weekend, move back to Glasgow. He is thinking to rent out his flat.

Seem house market turn worst nowaday.:scared1: :scared1:

Foods and petrol go up more expensive. :sad2:

I wonder what about USA?

Scottishwee35

The housing market is terrible. Our SIL is an estate agent and is reaqdy for a couple of bad years. Many have been made redundant too and it looks like some long standing estate agencies will be closing..

Sounds about the same here. Most of our friends that paid $500,000 for their houses are sorry now since they can't sell them and they are worth $200,000 less now. And forget about refinancing or getting a second if you need repairs because the appraisals aren't coming in high enough.

that is a big drop in a house price. It is very sad.

Guess what....I have a friend that is suppose to be on the Magic this Sunday but her husband has kidney stones and doctor said they can't go unless he passes them :scared:

Well I hope he passes them syper quick.

Call him and tell him to drink 4 oz of lemon juice and 3 oz of olive oil... Mix them together... it's sort of gross - follow up with a full glass of cold water... (I used seltzer with lime however to cut the oily feeling in my mouth...) I've done it twice and it works... not sure if it will be in time... but I'd tell him to try...

That would make me pass anything and everything!!:scared1:

Very funny. It did set me looking at related videos on the right - could have sat all day. Ended up on an It's a Small World After all one from DL!! Guess what - i can't get the song out of my head now!:headache:

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong, and I learned how to get along

And so you're back, from outer space
I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face
I should've changed that stupid lock, I should've made you leave your key
If I'd have known for just one second you'd be back to bother me.

Go on now go, walk out the door,
Just turn around now, cause you're not welcome anymore.
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with good-bye,
You think I'd crumble, you think I'd lay down and die.

Oh, no not I, I will survive,
Oh as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live, I've got all my love to give
And I, l will survive, I will survive....Hey, hey

Hi everyone,
I had a wonderful trip to DL with Dylan (my 10 yr old nephew). We left last Thurs. and had Thurs. evening, Fri., Sat., Sun. and Mon. at the park. We closed it every night except Sunday; that night we left early, at 11:30 p.m!:lmao: When we woke up Tues. morning we were both REALLY tired, needless to say. We checked out at 11, which was a struggle since we woke up at 10, had breakfast and started back to AZ around 1 p.m. Even after eating and drinking some coffee I felt really fatigued, but figured once I got going I'd perk up.

Well, I didn't perk up; in fact, after about 90 min. (a little east of Beaumont for those of you who know the area) I was feeling really sleepy. I thought about just pulling over on the freeway and sleeping for a little bit, but I was afraid it would worry Dylan, so I kept driving, thinking I would pull off at the next exit I saw that had a gas station or burger place. That's the last thing I remember thinking. The next thing I knew, literally, was that I opened my eyes and found myself bearing down on what I thought was a semi. I slammed on my brakes, but hit the back of the vehicle (which it turned out was an old truck pulling a sand rail or something like that, going about 55 mph--I was going 65 or 70, not over the speed limit). The air bags went off, I veered to the right, went through a barbed wire fence, down an 8 ft. embankment and ended up on a local highway that ran parallel to the freeway. Miraculously the car didn't roll; my front tires didn't even blow out, but the front end of my car was pretty demolished and the roof and passenger side were scraped and dented from the fence post and wire. Also miraculously (and I don't use that word lightly), neither of us was hurt. Dylan didn't even have a scrape on him and all I suffered was a burn on the back of my right hand from the chemical that deploys the airbag.

To summarize the rest of the story, my car is in a wrecking yard in Beaumont; I'll hear in a few days whether it is considered totaled or not. We went to the hospital in Palm Springs because Dylan some stomach pain. We both had x-rays and checked out OK. My sister drove out immediately, got there about 9:30. We spent the night at a hotel, went to the wrecking yard today and cleaned out my car and drove back to Scottsdale. I'm getting a rental car tomorrow and am counting my blessings that neither one of us, especially Dylan, was hurt.

Moral of the story: learn from my mistake! My gut was telling me to stop and I didn't do it. I can't believe how fast it all happened. I have no recollection of dozing--I don't know exactly what did happen, but I jeopardized not only my own life, but the life of my nephew. I could never have forgiven myself if something had happened to him. I know we both were divinely protected. We were wearing our seat belts and I was driving a good car (Honda Accord). We're both very sore, and emotionally shaken, but physically fine. I'm so glad to be back and be safe.

I'm many pages behind and don't know when or if I'll be able to catch up, but send my love to everyone.

Cherie, I am now even more pleased to hear from you!!!:scared1: What a nightmare end to a wonderful trip. So glad you are both ok as it could have been so much worse.:sad2:

It is so easy for this to happen, and it can happen to all of us. We do need to heed your warning before it does happen though. John used to drive long periods when tired coming home from the South of France after a vacation, and only now admits that he must have had some narrow escapes.

 To you.

I went to doctor this morning and doctor told me that I damaged my back muslce which quite common. And told me that I am slight overweight:scared1: :sad2:

Doctor told me to carry on at work :sad2: He gave me tablets just same I had it last times I told him it won't work:sad1:

I hate being told I am overweight even though I know it!!!:sad2:

Glad your back pain is nothing serious, though painful none the less. What tablets are you taking?

Deborah, I don't know if you know this, but you can take Ibuprofen and Paracetamol along side each other. Not at the same time, but spaced apart. This means you can have your daily allowed dosage of Ibuprofen and then between doses take the Paracetamol. This is because the tablets have a different action and don't interfere with each other.

It might just help you.

Yes, this is true.....Paracetamol is acetominophen and my knee doctor told me I could take both in the same day, just not at exactly the same time. They work differently. I wouldn't do it all the timie! But for extreme pain, it works. Connie

It's the same here. The economy is in the toilet. BUT the gas is much more expensive for you.

I did have depression but I thought it was because I had to think about someone besides myself.......but your idea makes me look better!

I think there is a natural sense of feeling overwhelmed. Like: OH MY GOODNESS, THIS LITTLE PERSON IS DEPENDENT ON ME FOR EVERYTHING.

But if you have been made to feel incapable, incompetent, inconsiderate and rude at the delivery......

If you have been told that the MD (who was not even there when you needed him or her) DID the delivery.....

If you have had staff doing tests and measures on the baby while your arms are empty......

And you have not been told

That YOU delivered the baby and did a good job!!

That you should hold and comfort the baby because we have to get this test done and we don't want him or her any more stressed than necessary and Mom's are the best ones to comfort and reassure a baby!!

etc,

Then, heck yes, you go home feeling overwhelmed and incompetent. I'd call that depression.

YOU DID GOOD!! :cool1:

YOU STILL DO A GOOD JOB MOTHERING THOSE KIDS :cool1:

It's not easy--but nothing worth doing is easy-- :cool1:

My suggested bumper sticker:
"PARENTING--THE TOUGHEST JOB YOU'LL EVER LOVE"

HAVE A GOOD DAY!!

She doesn't live there anymore. We moved her down to San Jose (actually she is in Los Gatos) after my dad died 2+ years ago. The darn house has been onthe market for a long time now....

Now I remember. I need a smilie hitting himself on the head.

Gouodux--I remember you from the thread (you and John had a discussion about teams and why your DIS name is what it is) but not the ship. But I did not see Gaylean on the ship either. On the other hand, we might have seen each other but not had time to read nametags or been in a pool or a fancy dinner so maybe we did see each other.

We had the benefit of planning together, we had great family times and we can share photos and reminisce now. What else are friends for?

 Oh no! Tell your friend to tell your husband about Michelle's remedy. I sure hope it works out! How awful.

IToday we went to the American Girl Store in Los Angeles. Zoe earned enough money to get the Julie Doll and the book series to go with it. She was so excited that she just kept saying, "This is so awesome, giggle, giggle!"

This is SOOOO cute!

We went to the Museum of History Smithsonian on Friday... had to go since we are so in love with the movie Night at the Museum. Every person Zoe asked if the animals come alive at night said "Yes!" So, that was a riot.

Again, SOOOO cute!
But I wouldn't expect any less from such a cutie pie! :cutie:
