Ways to Display Pins

I was wondering how everyone displays their pins when visiting Disneyland? I know some people use the lanyards, hip lanyards, or vests. I only have a few pins, so I am trying to think of a creative way to display them when I go. Maybe pinning them on my purse strap? Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm too lazy to display my pins. lol. The purse strap idea sounds cute. I've seen many ppl put pins on their hat besides a vest. How about a backpack or make earings out of them if you have pierced ears? J/K :)

I don't have very many pins. I'm very picky!!! The ones that I love, I display on my camera strap. I have it out a lot and like showing them this way. I think your purse strap would work. Be careful with them. We have lost several backs. Luckily, DL and DCA have pin trading areas and they sell bags with just backs.

I was thinking of this too.

I think I am going to make some shapes.. like a Mickey's head.. a Castle... a Tiara.. out of felt..then attach a backing to it and make it into a pin to wear my favorite pins.

Then I can just pin it on my hoodie..

This is how my kids display their pins AT HOME (sorry, I know the OP was asking about wearing, but I still wanted to share):

We get two different sizes of embroidery hoops (1 large, 2 small) at a craft store and some black material. Then you glue gun the Mickey ears on the largest hoop. Voila! Pretty pin display to hang on their bedroom wall. Then my kids just take the pins they want to trade with them on each trip and put them on their lanyards.

DM, I am so stealing that idea!!! Thank YOU! We have some in frames and on corkboards but I love that one!! :)

When in the parks, I just wear them on my lanyards. Yes, lanyards....LOL DD8 wears some on her backpack and on the outside of her small pin bag as well.

DangerMouse, very creative display!

As for how to wear them at the park, my 15 favorites are on a lanyard. My traders are in a designated section of my fanny pack.

The one caution I would offer regarding purse strap, back pack strap, etc is that they can fall off way too easily when the strap is rubbed, twisted, or bumped wrong. Unless you have the locking backs, I would imagine you might lose a few this way. And I know when I lose a coveted pin, AAHH! LOL

The decorative vest is a fun idea... would that get heavy though?

Have fun displaying them however you decide to do so.

My mom repeatedly had a beloved pin fall off her hat at WDW and I've heard too many stories of people putting them on shirts only to lose them. I use a lanyard with locking backs and put my traders in a bag with a zipper.

There was a guy at the park when I was there in July, he had a vest on and it was covered with Tigger. He loved Tigger and wore them proudly. I didn't even think to ask about weight but I know that when I take my lanyard off at the end of the day I breathe a sigh of relief. :)

We use the locking backs too. I've never worn them anywhere except for on my lanyard. We don't trade them though. I'm not sure if that's what the whole point of the lanyard is. We just think it's fun.

I just use a lanyard, but then again I only keep tradeables on there so no big deal if I lose one. Actually that's not totally true, sometimes I put a British flag Mickey head pin on there that's not for trade. My bf likes to put a couple on his bag strap :)

I don't wear a lanyard at DL. The weight would bother me after all day. But I wear one for work as a Pre-K teacher with my key and whistle. Each week we have a different letter of the week. So I wear pins of things that start with that letter on my lanyard. Not all are Disney pins but some are. This last trip I got the Cheshire Cat with Cups to wear during C week. The kids always like to look at the pins and talk about them. :thumbsup2

i am still gona look for a pin bag or book but danger mouse wow i like that idea might steal it to for ds pins..lol

but i dont like them on the lanyard to much im afraid of loseing them and stuff but we do have lanyards we will take with us or just put them in our backpack this time
