We originally had a trip planned to Myrtle Beach in early Oct., flying on Spirit out of Atlantic City. When the MYW with dining came out , we changed our plans and decided to go to WDW again. We've been watching the Spirit prices and finally decided it was time to change our flight. I called Spirit yesterday to make the change and casually mentioned to the CSR that we were thinking about changing our MB flights to Orlando because of flight time changes to MB. She tells me no problem... changes our flight to Orlando with no up-charge or penalty fee. I couldn't believe my good luck! This is the reason that I fly Spirit every chance I get.

I have always flown Spirit out of Atlantic City to MCO and have never had a problem with their service.

We've got a trip planned for December and are traveling back and forth on fridays (the 2nd to the 9th) take a look at how much Spirit would cost and tell me how great they are. We are saving over $400.00 by flying out of JFK on Song and were looking forward to it. I didn't Spirit was great just convienent to the Jersey Shore.

Abline, I made my reservations with Spirit in February for an August trip. The cost of the ticket then was $73 each way. That same ticket is now $221/way. Quite a savings! Atlantic City Airport is about a 25 minute ride from my home, making it convenient.

The price of fuel plays a major part in ticket price. Unfortunately, it looks like there is no relief in sight. I, too, was planning a trip in November or December, but have decided to nix the idea for now due to ticket prices.

Don't rub it in. The rates were $68.00 each way in January and my wife said don't buy them now it's too early. Well it cost us in the long run. I knew I shouldn't have listened to her.

In the same boat since I need tickets from MCO back to NY for Labor Day weekend. Praying for a last minute sale -- otherwise its $ 169.00 pp on Jet Blue.

BTW - I WILL NEVER fly Spirit Airlines due to a problem I had with credit card fraud. On X-Mas eve -- I checked online with Chase and my account was $ 500.00 short. So I called Chase - and they told me they had a hold for that amount from Spirit Airlines. I called Spirit Airlines (around 2 -2:30 PM) got to their bookkeepping dept and since I had the card # they were able to give all the information. It was for a flight on 12/26 - one way to Fort Lauderdale. They did cancel the ticket -- but when I inquired about arresting the person when they went to check in (since ticket was supposed to be picked up at the gate) they REFUSED! I indicated I would be more than happy to press charges etc. but they still said it wasn't there policy. They also refused to release the hold on my money either! Took 3 months for Chase to get my money back -- when it could have been done instantly by Spirit.

We always book our air, when I book our room (at 11 months out). One time, the air fare went down, every other time it went up.

I booked our December trip, back in January, and paid $153 pp, on Spirit out of AC. (We got the $68 fare you're talking about) I just checked and the fare is now up to $309 pp!

I also got an added bonus, last week in my email box...Spirit changed our return time from 5:10pm to 7:20pm! :)

I just got an emial from Spirit that they changed my flight from 6:00 pm to 10:30 am. I was not so happy. They said the 6:00 flight out of Orlando will not be back until the fall. :sad2:

That's surprising! You would think they would have more travel during the summer...that doesn't make sense. :confused3

I'm sorry, that stinks. When are you going? I would check other airlines. With that big of a time difference, I would think Spirit would give you a refund.
