Wave?

The Wave is by far our favorite WDW restaurant. We have now eaten there 2 trips in a row and have ADRs for our next trip. I have had the lamb shank entree twice - it is just delicious. Other hits were the beef tenderloin and the fact that adults could get shakes as their drink and my son could get a smoothie. The service was fantastic.

I would agree the Wave is a hidden gem. We eat there every visit to MouseLand. Very few people do not know it and I hope it stays that way, especially with Le Cellier going to Signature status. I believe because it is'off the beaten path' has helped to hide it. But with BLT, I am concerned.

The Pot Pie is great, as well as the steaks.

We ate at the Wave for the first time last August (during Free Dining no less). Anyhow, it was fantastic ... one of our best WDW meals ever ... you definitely didn't get any impression that they had cut back on quality etc. b/c of FD. We'll be back next week to celebrate my dad's 60th Bday.

Love the Wave, lunch and dinner. Have a friend who is bigtime disney and she had breakfast there every morning said it was outstanding. Everything was good. LOVE the black bean chili(it has pork in it) and the dessert trio. I found service to be a little slow BUT Was dining with a 1 1/2 year old and knew he would be throwing a fit if we were not in and out quick so I am sort of sitting on the edge of my seat before we even order. If I had not been with kids probably would not have seemed slow. Great cocktails, organic beer, salads. Love everything I have gotten.

I'm glad to hear all the positive reviews.

DH and I have a dinner booked for our trip. We're planning to eat and then have a late night out in MK while the kids spend some time with my parents. :goodvibes

Our best meal on our recent July trip!

We had the beef tenderloin--better than Le Cellier, better than Kona. We had wonderful attentive service. I couldn't believe how empty the place was! And the desserts were fab.

This will be the first restaurant I book on future trips! I figure it may become the new "Le Cellier" when more people find out!!!!

We are thinking about trying to add this in and I was wondering if you could see Wishes from the restaurant?

The Wave has no windows, and no access to the outside really. You have to go through the Contemporary Resort lobby to get outside. Even from there, the view isn't ideal.

We have an adr at the Wave scheduled for our next trip. Is there a good place for non-CG diners and non-BLT or Contemporary guests to watch Wishes?

I also think it is the most under rated restaurant on property. I have only eaten there once and it immediately became my second must do place on property. I was in a t-shirt and shorts and didn't feel out of place.

I'm really glad to hear all the positive reviews! We had to switch our ADR from Raglan Road to the Wave a few days ago b/c we couldn't get a specialty birthday cake delivered to RR. I was reeeeally hesitant; however, the reservation specialist assured me that the Wave is one of the better, but often overlooked, resort restaurants. It's reassuring to hear that most of you agree. :)

I'll be sure to come back and give a review!

I agree a hidden gem (SHHH). DD and I dined there last year and I am looking forward to returning in a couple of weeks. Be aware, chicken pot pie poster, that they do not serve a traditional one here. I call it "deconstructed" as all the components are there but not in a "pie". It was fabulous, just different.

Funny (to me) dessert story. I was too full for dessert so asked if any would "travel" well. Waitress (sought out the mgr to rave about her!!) brought me a little box which I proceeded to lovingly carry throughout MK EMH. Back at the resort, I pop open the box to find ......

1 piece of pineapple
a 1 inch square piece of baclava
and something else I don't remember except it too was tiny!!

DD laughed her head off. "Glad you were so careful with those!!!"

My advice - just eat the desserts there!!!

Oh, and you can get the full menu served at the bar if you want.

I'm a fan. Food, service, atmosphere all very nice. I hope it stays a bit under the radar-some TS restaurants become really over-hyped.

We have had dinner there twice, March 09 and Aug 09 (reviews and pics in my signature)

Each time we wore shorts and tees, each time the food and service was excellent!
