Has anyone purchased the private cabanas at the waterparks? How much do they charge and is it needed or even worth it?

Cost depends on the time of year. Last Aug/Sep when we went it was $240. I thought they were EXTREMELY worth it and I can't imagine going now and not getting one.

I just can't justify that cost for what you get. There are plenty of chairs and I don't even use it other than to hold my stuff. But plenty of people seem to like renting them. Some at the resorts have TV's and a fridge. I could see doing that for a resort day. But it is still too expensive for me.

What a great report!!! I am definitely going to look at the price for my trip. I was thinking about doing the Halloween Party but I might enjoy a day of relaxation in one of these.

Depends a lot on your party size and what makes it up.

We aren't there at peak summer times (late August for us), but for our family of 3 who spends little to no time sitting at the water parks, we have always been able to get decent chairs to use.

If there are parents or grandparents who will be sitting and reading while kids/teens run around, then, it makes sense to reserve a umbrella area.

The big shacks/cabanas make sense when there are larger groups that include loungers and they are looking for quiet "home base" for a day of fun at the water parks.
