We've never been to a disney waterpark before (we usually go in February) and want to add one to our trip the last week of August this year. I don't really know what to expect. Assuming we arrive at RD, how long do we need? And which park will be better for my DS6 about 50 inches tall and a moderate swimmer with little or no fear?

Thanks!

They are both great. We are locals and go often. My son is 7 and his favorite is Blizzard Beach so that is where we usually go. We get there at RD and stay 3-4 hours. It gets much busier in the afternoon, mornings are usually very nice crowd wise.

We've been to both and we prefer BB to TL. BB has a kids play area that is pretty cool and the slides seem to be a little longer/faster than the ones at TL (just my opinion), with one of our favorites being the family raft ride.

I like BB better "overall" but our favorite WP ride is Crushin' Gusher at TL. And at 50", your son is tall enough.

Typhoon lagoon has the better wave pool but Blizzard Beach on a whole is better

You guys are so awesome! I'll talk it over with DS but he was already asking about BB so I bet we will go there!
