Watermelon question

Our watermelon plants are doing well for a change and we actually have quite a few watermelons in our garden. But I don't know how to tell when they are ready to be picked. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks! Its so exciting that our watermelons and cantalopes are actually producing this year. We have had a bumper crop of yellow squash and once our tomatos ripen, we will be able to supply the whole neighborhood. Don't know why this year is different, but we are enjoying it.
