I drink a lot of water, and am going to Disneyland for the first time in fifteen years! Hooray! Back to my question... Would it be worth it to rent a locker and place bottles of water in it? How much is it to rent a locker? Any info would be appreciated!

We always carry a few bottles inside a backpack I always wear when visiting the parks and then fill them up at drinking fountains or restrooms. Its better than paying for water over and over again. We have been asked when entering the security area what was in the bottles, especially since they may have already been opened but we just tell them its water and they let us through.

The water in the fountains at DL isn't bad. I take one bottle in and refill it in the drinking fountains. I also have had CMs fill it for me at the mint julep bar and jolly holiday.

This is what I do. Disneyland water tastes fine and you save so much money and hassle!

Yeah taking a refillable bottle in is the way to go. I have a favorite one I got at REI that is PBA free and light weight and w/ a cap that is attached so can't get lost. There are plenty of water fountains all over the place at Dland and the water tastes just fine. When I stop for lunch I will often ask for a big glass of ice water and fill the bottle up with that if I want a cool one for the afternoon.

Can you ask for a free cup of ice water at the CS places? I know that WDW does this, and I just assumed that's what we would do at DL also.

Yes.

Locker rentals are around $10-15. Just buy water as you need it or use the water fountains. Disneyland water tastes fine.

They make refillable bottles with a filter built in- they sell them at Target- my girls prefer carrying their Camelpacks though- great for holding a granola bar and tying their sweatshirts to....

Yep, we did this a lot in September when it was very hot. They gave us the largest size cups instead of the small ones that they are supposed to give out for water. It tasted fine (and I'm very picky about water, since I grew up drinking filtered well water!)

I did this not to long ago due to the need of going commando in the parks for that day! We normally don't do it this but really don't like the taste from the fountains (just my own opinion) & don't want to spend on water bottles the whole day so $7 dollars was no big deal! Use the small locker for water bottles in a small soft sided cooler & light jackets & it was fine! Do whatever works for you! ;)

Just an FYI, reports are that the lockers are going up to $10 and to single use, not all day. I do not know when this is happening or if it has already.

In my opinion A better option would be to get one of the many water bottles that filters water, if you really can't stand the taste of the water. But any QS location that sells fountain drinks will give free cups of water.

Thanks for the advice but since we rarely stay in the parks all day we don't mind paying the price whatever it will be for stuff we don't want to tote around all day. :) We either go a few hours (which I DO carry a few water bottles in my purse) or stay on property to get back and take breaks! :thumbsup2 Although I have been known during the hottest days to refill my bottles @ the drinking fountains! :rotfl: I will then definitely keep all suggestions handy ! ;)

This is what we do, but if you don't mind the locker fee, and you don't mind having to go back to the locker every time you need more water, then I guess it's worth the cost of the locker.

I just attach my bobble to the strap of my cross body purse, and it works well for me. I can fill it up whenever I need to, it's with me all the time, the bottle filters the water as I drink it, and it tastes good.

Where did you hear about lockers going to single use? That seems incredibly inconvenient an really decreases the value of renting a locker. I know the cell phone charging lockers are different but that is a bummer if it happens to the regular lockers.

I'm wondering about the locker rental changes, too. We would certainly stop using them if they were no longer day-use. That wouldn't work with the way we use the lockers at all. We stop by in the morning and get a locker for a few snacks and maybe toss jackets in there. Then, throughout the day, anyone can stop by and grab a snack or pick up (or drop off) their jacket. I've got older kids that can visit on their own, so i works out nicely that we can all access the locker without having to be together, and that it can be accessed throughout the day.

Anyways. As for whatever, I'm totally a water drinker as well and I'm just fine w/the free water. I always ask for a 'large water' and almost always have receive water in the soda size cup. Works out nicely, and I don't have to carry around a water bottle (we don't even carry a backpack, since we go the locker route for the random stuff).

I personally think the water from the drinking fountains at DL taste nasty. We are going to bring Crystal Light to mask the taste on our next trip.
