what is your favorite water ride?? Which ones do u get really wet on and which ones
don't you? what should i were on the water rides?

In order of wetness levels:

JP River Adventure (anywhere from a light splash to moderately soaked-shoes and pants generally stay dry)

Ripsaw Falls (moderately soaked, shoes may stay dry)

Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges (completely drenched, head to toe)

USF has the Curious George play area, Earthquake and Jaws.

If you're not careful, you'll get soaked in the Curious George area. You might get a small splash in EQ. Jaws could get you slightly wet if you're on the right side of the boat.

I think you should rephrase that to: "When rocketman23 and Robert Walker are in the Curious George area, you will get soaked."

I have been on and got off with splashs of water on my shorts and soaked shoes.

But I have never been drenched, in fact I have never had the top part of my body wet.

We rode the Bilge Rat Barges and got soaked.

We wore waterproof sandels, swimsuit and the shorts that dry quickly for the females and shirts for the males. Worked well.

What? You're cheating the system! :p

I once rode Popeye in August and never got wet! At the other park in Disney, I rode Kali River Rapids three times and was barely soaked. I must have been cheating the system too! :)

I have 2 favorites. I really like JP River Adventure. We dont usually get soaked just a bit wet.

Also we really love Bilge Rat Barges. Sometimes we get absolutely soaked and others not too bad! Guess it all depends on if you get the lucky seats that take you directly under those falls!

Not sure if it was my imagination but we did not get as soaked on the water rides in December as we did in August!

Try and wear sandals instead of sneakers. Nothing worse than walking around in squishy wet sneakers. You could also bring a change of clothes and after riding all the water rides just change. Also found that after riding the water rides it was wiser to eat outdoors somewhere as the air conditioning and being wet was unbearable. I hate being COLD! Have Fun:)

The left seat next to the entrance of the raft is where I sit.

USO2003, that is an awesome picture, you look like you are having SOOOOOO much fun.
We missed IOA this trip , so thanks for the memory :)

Sorry, but which seat you choose on Bluto's is simply not a factor. The raft is round and after you leave the load area it is just at the mercy of the random flow of water. It has been tested and retested, no two ride profiles are the same. Certain average profiles can be cataloged but that's it. The soak factor depends on time of year, and where the spin of the raft places you in relation to the timing of Poopdeck Falls and the Belching Tug. There is no cheating of the system on this one.

You would think going as much as I do in a year I would be sick of it, but I don't. I go to have fun and that's what I have when I go.

I'll agree with that, I have been on it a few times and the last time I went on I went in my usual seat and I just missed being under the boat with the water dumping on you. I usually am on the other side of it. Either way in all the times I have been on I have never got the top part of my body wet on the ride. I guess if you know what to expect, you can dodge or move out of the way of the water which is what I tend to do.

I once went with a girlfreind on a very hot day. I suggested Popeye to cool off because I knew getting wet was a gaurantee on that ride. Well, don't you know it, everybody on the raft got soaked, except for us! We didn't even get a little wet. We were completely dry. It was a very odd occurance.

I always seem to get completely soaked, atleast my the bottom part, on Ripsaw Falls. On Popeye I greatfully get wet, but have a few tricks.

1) I try to wear two layers of shirts.

That way, I can take the top one off, store it in the 'dry lock' in the center of the raft, and, after getting soaked, replace it for the wet one. I can then manually dry the wet one at the hand dryers in the bathroom, carry it around and let it sun dry, or put it on if I decide to go on another wet ride.

2) I do whatever possible to keep my socks dry.

The worse thing about getting soaked is not the wet tops or pants. Those can dry in a relativly short amount of time, even when being worn. Socks wont. Socks will stay wet in your shoes for the rest of the day, and will make you uncomfortable for the length of that day.

I try like heck to keep my feet off the floor and out of the way of the water. I'll even put them up on the handrails. And if only the elastic part of the sock get wet, you should stop for a second and ring them out, because, if not, that moistur will eventually move down from the ankle to the foot.

But I refuse to cheat the system, as they say. I will not take my shoes and socks off and put them in the conpartment, nor wear anysort of poncho. That would take the fun out of trying not to get wet!
