Do you still get drenched at water rides in winter or do those not run? Hate to miss them, but can't even imagine getting wet at night in 40 degree weather. Thanks!
Oh, you still get drenched! And I wouldn't suggest riding them at night! We were there recently and rode Jurassic Park, Popeye, and Dudley Do Right. For JP, the first time we rode it, we were towards the back and got a little wet. Then we rode it again in the front row and got soaked.
We rode Dudley Do Right a couple of times and didn't get very wet regardless of where we sat. DD sat in the very front and actually thought she got some water protection from the front of the car.
And we rode Popeye once and all got soaked. DD and I ended up in the prime seats and got drenched over and over again. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to pee my pants. We would have loved to ride again but it just wasn't warm enough to.
We did them all right after another and used different strategies. Some of us wore our bathing suits and then put our fleeces on as soon as a ride was over. Others wore a water-resistant jacket during the rides and then took them off after we were done. And we made sure to do them during the warmest part of the day. No way would we have done them in the evening or nighttime!
By Dudley Do Right, there is a body dryer for either $3 or $5 (can't remember which). We didn't use it, so I don't know how well it works. Of course, more people than not were wearing ponchos.
They're SO much fun - I hope you do get a chance to enjoy them!
