Water problems at BCV?

There is a thread under the "Resorts" forum where JayCT refers to an incident where a woman talks about not having any water. especially hot water at the BCVs?

Does this really keep happening? If so that is awful. Are they doing anything to correct the situation?

Or was the woman just a little nutty??

A little concerned by this since we are supposed to be staying there in a couple of weeks.

Thanks

Here is the link to the thread if you want to check it out. The post I am talking about is like 10 down and by JayCT.

We stayed there in March and the water pressure was the problem. There was plenty of hot water for the tub, sinks, laundry, etc., and the water pressure was fine in those places, but when we took showers the water just trickled out due to the shower heads. Very annoying! We have great water pressure at home and as much as we love Disney and BCV, it was so nice to come back to our showers here!

I think alot of the "water pressure" issues need to be regarded as individual preference. We stayed at BCV in mid-February and had no water issues at all. Plenty of hot water at all times and plenty of shower power.

When we stayed at the BCV this past New Year's, the hot water was fine but the pressure was low in the shower only. I agree that it comes down to individual preference. But the BCV water pressure is without a doubt less than the other DVC resorts we've stayed in. I wouldn't let the chance of getting a shower with low pressure cause you to worry though.

I agree that your perception of "good" or "bad" water pressure is so dependent on what you're used to. Our subdivision has a reputation as having the worst water pressure in the city. When I went to BCV, I thought the water pressure was great! Yet, last year we went to visit family in Chicago area, and water pressure was incredibly strong, I thought. Those people (DH's family) would probably complain bitterly about last of water pressure at BCV.

The pressure is fine everywhere but the shower. I think they used too low of a flow restrictor on the shower head. I've been tempted to take off their head and remove it. Any one try that?

My husband is a plumber, and all it takes, or so he says, is to remove a piece from the shower head. It's called a water saver. He did this to all the fixtures when we built our home. I'm not saying that we should all get in trouble, but I think with the water saver you are just running the water twice as long. Makes no sense to me! It's like the low flow toilets. You have to flush 2 or 3 times or you'll get a clog. Same amount of water used. Whatever braniac invented this should be put in the moron's hall of fame. Oh well enough about plumbing!

We were at BCV May 1-9. We certainly had plenty of hot water, but the pressure was lower than I'm accustomed to. It was definitely more than a trickle. You can also try changing the shower head setting (there are several). I had to extend my shower time a couple of minutes to get all the soap off. I would say it was adequate. There may be differences in rooms as well as resorts. But the water temp and pressure was about the same as it was at BWV during a trip there a couple of years ago.

Back from BCV May 8th and didn't notice a problem with water pressure anywhere, shower or otherwise.

just back... BCV hot water pressure in the shower (2nd floor) was nearly unacceptable... but during OKW stay (during the same trip) water pressure was great...

Been home twice to BCV in the last year, most recently at Xmas. No problems.
