Just got back 2 weeks ago, we don't go to the waterparks much because we are usually there in the cooler months. I found it absolutely upseting that they charge you $1 for each towel you use at the water parks!!!!:scared1: :sad2: I guess this is one way they keep the towels in the park. So a tip to anyone going to the water parks...... Bring your own towel....:yay:

Unless you're staying at a WDW resort and then you can take towels from the resort pool (not your room) to use at the WP - just put them in the returns bin when you're finished.

Honestly, we didn't find the $1 "rental" fee to be all that terrible. The towels are huge, besides, they need a system that will make people more likely to return the towels. I've been in water parks where there were no towels, rental or otherwise, unless you wanted to buy one. This trip we're not even packing towels, we will be more than happy to save the hassle and just rent them.

This still is not really an incentive to return the towels since you don't get the money back!!! I wouldn't say the towels are HUGE either, since you need 2 towels to cover the chair.... I wouldn't think the $1 charge for the towel would be bad at all if your $1 was returned when the towel was returned. And I understand they need a way to ensure people won't remove them from the park but who's to say people are not taking them out of the park!!! Just saying that it is a little upseting that Disney seems to collect money on every little thing possible. Don't get me wrong I am a DISNEY FREAK and Love it there, but it gets a little old when you are charged to USE a towel. $1 here, $2 there, $5 overhere. I was just trying to give a little tip to people that might be interested in bringing the pool towels from the resort and saving themselves $10.:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Wow! I didn't realize that WDW water parks are charging for towel rentals. Thanks for the update!

Except it costs money to launder that towel. And manpower to pick up that towel that someone didn't put in the bin.

Its simple...bring your own if you don't want to pay for it. Disney doesn't tell you you CAN'T bring your own; they're not forcing you to use their towels.

I just got back from our trip in 9/7, and we visited both water parks. At Blizzard Beach, they didn't even charge us for our towels, which was strange. However, during the course of the day, I found they we hardly used the towels. DH & DS just hopped from ride to ride, and dried off in the sun while they took a break to eat. DD and I hung out in the milder areas, and I dried DD off once with a towel. When we were ready to leave, we simply changed our clothes. The next park was Typhoon Lagoon, and this time, we didn't bother with towels and we were fine. I know this won't work for everyone, but we were dry in our clothes before the bus picked us up, we just had to carry our wet suits in a bag back to the Poly...

I agree - I think $1 per towel is very reasonable - they do need to cover their costs. If it was $5 per towel, that would be different!
