Water Parks in February

We will be at WDW the week of Valentine's Day. My question is - has anyone gone to one of the water parks during that time in the past? DH really wants to try one of them out, I know that Typhoon Lagoon is the only one open at that time. I also know that Disney heats all their pools, but I do not want to end up sick from going to a water park for the day. We plan on winging if we should go or not, but I just wanted to get some input from those that have been during that same time. TIA

Even in February there is usually at least one day of the week when the temperature reaches 70 F and most people would feel comfortable at a water park.

In recent years Disney has been adjusting the refurbishment dates so each water park would be open during some Februarys.

When I was in HS we used to go to WDW every February for our break week. We always went to TL (this was before BB) once per trip and we weren't cold at all. Of course then we lived in upstate NY and there was snow on the ground when we left and when we returned. NOw that I live in NC, I have to say I'd probably be too cold to do a water park in February unless it was a VERY warm day. At the beginning of this year DH and I went to WDW the last week of January. It was only in the 50's and 60's that week and we didn't even go to the hot tub because we were sure we'd be cold once we got out. :rotfl:

On our last trip in 2008 (Jan 29th - Feb 5th) we went to Typhoon Lagoon one day and it was great. The temp was high 70's (I think) and sunny. In 2007 we also went in Feb. and did Typhoon Lagoon 1 day and the weather was about the same.

Two years ago we went to WDW in Feb. it was the best weather for me, I cant stand the heat. I think we got lucky because it was probably in the low 60's at night and high 70's during the day. The water park was great, I dont recall it being cold, and it was really empty. We were staying at the Poly and went to the hotel pool every day. Have fun.

There is no way I could do a water park in February now, no way, no how.

When we lived in Maryland and visited WDW going to a water park in February or March was very doable but since we now live in the south we are too acclimated to the same temperatures and we would find it too cold.

Our past few trips have been in February. We're from Illinois so the temperature difference is wonderful. However, I don't even pack shorts for the kids. I have not had one day in 4 trips I'd be willing to go to a water park. I think I swam once and only because my youngest was too little to go in the big pool by himself at that time. The kids would go in a second. We see people swimming when it's in the 50s! DH and I wouldn't and couldn't do it :)

The difficult part is walking around a park wet. Unless it's really hot out, I just can't do it so February would be too cold for me. You won't get sick, though. You can't get sick from being cold.

We're going the first week in Feb and I didn't buy any of the water park passes. I figured it just wouldn't be warm enough. We might try the resort pool if it actually warms up enough. I'm from MN so we're pretty tough. It's a high of 59 right now and it's MINT outside!

I've been to the waterparks in Feb during the past 2 yrs. It was warm enough; not hot but definitely not chilly. And I've never become sick by swimming in a chilly pool/environment:thumbsup2
