Thanks

There is usually only one open that time of year

Is it weather dependant ?

The only thing you could run into is that they do close the water parks if the temperatures are forecast to be below a certain level (not sure what that point is, but we have had closures a few days this month for cold weather and the temps were in the upper 50’s). So even if one park is scheduled to be operating, you could run into closures due to temperatures.

Right now, the forecast for February is showing 60’s and 70’s as high temps, but it’s way too early to rely on those forecasts. Can you do the add on closer to your trip? The closer you are, the more accurate the forecasts will be.

For whatever reason, Disney seems to be reluctant to publish the water park hours too far in advance. They haven't announced when they'll transition from Blizzard Beach to Typhoon Lagoon, but it is generally expected sometime in late winter / early spring. As others have mentioned, it may be closed due to cold weather. I can't help but chuckle when I hear that BB is closed due to low temperatures, but I wouldn't want to run around in a swimsuit if it really is that cold.

We were at aquatica a few years ago . I was blue kids were fine. Everyone laughed there were only Canadians there. It closed the rest of the week. I’m hoping Feb is somewhat warmer than December

As long as one is open. I just don’t want to pay extra for the added if neither are open .
One will be open (weather dependent) but hours have just not been posted yet. Hours will be posted but Disney can close a water park if it's too cold.

ok but during summer they usually have both open
No, this is no longer the case. As @musicguy856 shared, only one water park has been open at a time since later in 2019.

Late in 2019 one of the water parks closed for it's normal winter refurbishment and during that time all the parks closed. Since they re-opened, Disney has only operated one water park at a time.
