Water Parks for "older" swimmers. :)

Taking a family trip out to Disney this summer with my parents who are in their late 60s. They're active enough for swimming but water slides are right out (mom's got this thing about heights. ) along with rough rides. I'm figuring we'll hit the wave pool and the lazy river which both parks have.

I'm leaning towards Blizzard Beach with the longer river and "gentler" wave pool but we might be able to do the family raft ride and that sounds a little more rough at Blizzard Beach than Typhoon Lagoon, plus I gather there's a tropical park at Typhoon Lagoon (?) which might be something my parents could do as well. I'm also planning on renting a cabana for the day so if one has better cabana's than the other that would come into play too!

Does anyone have any suggestions one way or the other? Thanks!

The wave pool at TL is no joke. It's definitely not a relaxing swim. That said, we actually loved the wave pool and generally preferred TL over BB when we went last summer. (First visit to either water park for us.) We *really* loved snorkeling the shark reef and the slides we went on at TL. Can't comment on the cabanas as we did not rent one.

I have been to both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon with my mom who is in her mid 60's and not so physically fit. We/she had a good time at both. She enjoyed the lazy river and the wave pool and just relaxing on the beach area. She did do the family raft ride at both but the one at BB is easier for her to access because of the ski lift to the ride. The one at TL you have to walk up to the start (mom has COPD) I didnt find either family ride to be rough. Mom even rode Crushin' Gusher at TL.

I think the lazy river at TL is much more relaxing. The cold water dump at BB is just plain rude and always takes me a while to get back in relaxed mode. There is still spray and water under the mountain at TL, but not quite as cold.
