water parks filling to capacity

Hi all - I'm a first-time poster who's going to WDW in a couple of weeks. I've planned out my trip very thoroughly, but one element of my schedule has me concerned. I'm planning to go to Typhoon Lagoon on a Tuesday afternoon (arrive about 2) and Blizzard Beach at midday on a Friday, but I read in a couple of places that sometimes the water parks fill to capacity and shut their gates. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this or knew whether I could expect it and should alter my plans accordingly. Thanks!

Wednesday June 28th I was going to Blizzard Beach with my DD and her friend. We arrived at around noon and the park was full to capacity. They told us to come back around 2, but I just hung out at the pool at OKW instead.

The standard operation is to close for capacity, and then reopen at 2pm. Several days this week Blizzard Beach ahs been closing for either capacity or weather.

I alway try to get there 15 minutes before the H2O parks open. That way, we get chairs in the shade.

I was turned away from Typhoon Lagoon once. It was about 11 or 11:30am. They guaranteed you a spot if you came back at 2 or 3, so we did. This trip we will be going to the water parks first thing or late in the afternoon to avoid this problem. If you plan to go mid to late afternoon you should be fine.

Have a great time!

This happens almost everyday in the summer months. Just be prepared, show up around 2 or 2:30 and you should get in.

If you do not go when it opens then the next best thing is to go 3 hours before the park closes, more people will be leaving and less trying to go in.

The water parks are well worth a full day. If you can spend a day there you will be able to enjoy everything at a more relaxed pace. I really don't think 3 hours is enough as the PP has mentioned.

Also, in the summer the afternoon storms can close them down altogether.

It's best to get there early, esp. in the hot summer months. One time on our last trip we got the park hours mixed up and we ended up at Blizzard Beach two hours before opening... It was worth it, though, because we got excellent shade.

Have they been closed long, or just a couple of hours for lightening? And, what do folks do (or where to go) when they close and that's the only park being visited that day?
