Although I have been to Disney many times, I have never tried the water parks. We are not huge thrill seekers, but would love to try a day if the weather is nice... we are going early April. Anyone want to give me a comparision?

Comparision to?

If your asking about WDW's waterparks in comparision to other area water parks then I would say there is no comparision. WDW's parks are well themed, clean and the rides to me are much better. Just like one of the parks but all the rides are in/on the water.

I was actually wondering the same thing but wanted to know which water park is better for kids. I will be staying at CSR and have a 4 (not a water fan)and 7 YO (she loves the water slides and thrill rides). Is Blizzard Beach better or Typhoon Lagoon?

Compare to other water parks...Disney water parks are awesome. Probably some of the best theming on property.

Compared to each-other? It's been a few years, but blizzard beach is much more of a "thrill-park" type water park. The rides are long and fast. Typhoon Lagoon the slides are not as big in general, and they have a really neat pool with fish and manta rays and sharks that you can snorkle across. (Freaked my DW out, though, she couldn't keep her head down to watch the fish.) They've added Crush N Gusher since we've been there, which is a "Water coaster", but if you are looking more laid back slides, that's the park for you. They're both pretty awesome, though.

If you aren't big thrill seekers then I would go with Typhoon Lagoon. It's a great place for a family. Blizzard Beach is also awesome, but it's more for people who enjoy waterslides (thrill seekers) which has the best family water ride ever! Both have great theming. Both have a great Lazy River. The kid area at both is great, but Typhoon Lagoon has a better little kid area I believe.

I have always been a Typhoon Lagoon guy. My wife forced me to go in May and now it's not so cut and dry for me. We love both.

It also depends on how young your kids are. The TL kiddie area (Ketchakiddie Creek) is great for kids 5 and younger. However BB has ski patrol which is great for kids 12 and younger (BB also has tikes peak which is similar to the Ketchakiddie, but in my opinion Ketchakiddie is a better small kids area).

Well we saw a special on the travel channel and Blizzard Beach is the #2 water park in the USA, second to the one in Texas that I won't even attempt to spell that starts with an S(Slitterban :confused3 ). We've only been to TL and loved it but plan on trying BB next time we're in Disney.

BB is sooo much better than TL (IMHO). We have gone to both a couple times. I think it is also the best place to go with kids. The Kiddie and intermediate area is great. There are many double tube rides which make it easier to bring little kids on the rides with you. The wave pool at TL is cool but way too rough. My DD4 had a scraped behind from sitting on the bottom. The overall theming at BB is great. We will be at BB in 3 weeks and I can't wait.
