Water Parks and free towels?

I know all onsite guests do. Not sure if DVC members get free towels if they stay offsite.

We've never gotten free towels at the water parks?!? At the pools yes.

OP, I think at one time there was a discount at least. Maybe a couple dollars off, but I'm not sure anymore, as we like to take our large beach towels.

Its a new thing and now theybjust scan your magic band and give onsite guests free towels. Less raiding of the pool towels!! I am thrilled as we won't have to haul so many towels from the resort. We'll just shower and change at the water parks so no wet towels to bring back either!

Thank you Elaine, I knew I read about it somewhere.
CM yesterday told me no free towels for DVC members, then I checked with another CM and was told the same thing. I was wondering how did I imagine this? Lol

I 'thought' the free towel thing was only if you're staying at a Deluxe resort, but I could be very wrong.

This is so awesome!! Now if they would just make the transportation easier again! We were stuck at Disney Springs for 1 hr and 15 minutes waiting for a bus last August. We were dry, but still in suits and cover up. I'm not sure we will visit the water parks again for a while!

I am a bit worried as we have plans to go 2-3 times this August.

I would honestly consider a quick shower and change at the water park and then using Uber. It was a real pain. Being out in the sun at a water park is so exhausting. All I wanted to do was get back to our room and plop down on the couch and kick my feet up. It unfortunately didn't work that way :(

I just asked this question on the Disney Moms Panel, we will be staying at BLT in July. The response was that yes, towels are free if staying at BLT, just need to scan your Magic Bands. Not sure if this is for all the Disney Resorts, but I'm happy I won't have to be carrying a bunch of towels.

Aren't DVC resort deluxe resorts?

I'm guessing that if they just asked if DVC members got free towels the answer would be no as the requirement is staying onsite at a resort and not just for being a DVC member.

We got our free towels at Blizzard Beach this past weekend. We were staying on-site at PVB. You guys aren't kidding about the transportation challenges - we will do things differently if we return to the water parks!

We always take our own 'big' beach towels, brightly colored = easy to find our loungers

Would be nice to not have to schlep wet towels but i seem to recall the ones @ WP are skimpy, akin to the pool towels.:confused3
