Water park?

Hi

We are going soon to Orlando in April and are not doing a holiday on just parks. We have decided to go for one day to Magic Kingdom and one day at a water park. We have been to Wet 'n' wild, blizzard beach and river country. Two out of the four people in the family can not swim so a water park is difficult. We have not been to TL. Should we go there or to one of the other parks? What is at TL for non-swimmers?

Thanks

Hi  ,

Typhoon Lagoon is definitely our favorite water park in Florida. As it is a water park, obviously there isn't LOADS to do for non-swimmers, but at TL there is Shark Reef were you snorkel with sharks and also, IMO the best lazy river of them all - Castaway Creek.

There is a brilliant detailed map and information at the following link:

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are fairly similar with the slides (BB has more and the biggest though), but have different themes - out of the two, I personally prefer TL :)

There is the lazy river as Richard mentioned, also there is the family raft ride which doesn't involve swimming. They can do the various slides...all of which (I think...though I must admit I don't actually do any slides myself, too chicken :) ) end in shallow water - you plop out the bottom into a pool, but you can stand up in it. Then there is the wave machine in the main pool...you can still have lots of fun with that in the 'shallows' :)

tl is my favourite - I always feel warmer there than at bb!!! I think that non swimmers will enjoy sunning themselves on the beach around the wave pool and if they still do the huge waffle cones filled with ice cream no one will be swimming after eating them!!! There are still viewing areas at the bottom of all the slides and you also have ketchakiddee creek for the small kids which should be ideal for wading for non swimmers. The snorkel reef also has an underwater viewing place where non swimmers can enjoy the fish. My DMIL is a non swimmer but she always insists on a tyre around castaway creek - you dont only have to sit on it a lot of people walk with it around their middle!!!

have fun

Another vote here for Typhoon Lagoon. We prefer it to BB because its a bit more laid back and feels more spread out. Must say, summit plummit at BB is incredible though !
On our last trip to Typhoon Lagoon DW was pregnant and didn't wan't to really risk geting in the water and being kicked or falling over, so we spent most of the day relaxing at the edge of lagoon. Even without the swimming we still had a great day.

Hope this helps

Paul

Typhoon Lagoon is our favourite - there is so much to do. I am not a very confident swimmer - but managed to do loads in this water park. The shark reef is brilliant. we will definately go to this park again :D

We visited TL this year and loved it. With one almost non-swimmer, there was still loads to do.

Our fave water park, though, is Adventure Islands, Busch Gardens sister park at Tampa. Superb.

TL well worth a visit, go for it:D

Typhoon Lagoon is great!! The theming is suberb as you would expect. Blizzard Beach is good but IMHO not a patch on TL.

I will just go along with most folk on here and say Typhoon Lagoon is my favourite, although my son prefers Blizzard Beach because of "Summit Plummet". Castaway Creek is great but the clincher for me is the fantastic wave pool.
