I have never done the water parks. I plan to be there at opening on EMH day at TL.What should i do first? We want the thrill rides at TL and the Reef thingy Any sugestions? It will be middle of Aug.

HELP the UG does not give strategy and i need it.

No real strategy involved- get there as early as possible, and ride the big rides as often as possible until the park gets too crowded. Once lines get long, do the wave pool or the lazy river. Don't know if the reef gets really backed up (I won't do it- swimmimg with live fish freaks me out :crazy2: ), but probably try to do it pretty early, too.

Get there early to get your best spot for the day, preferrably under a shade area. From there just have fun and get in line (they move fairly quickly). Crushin Gusher is a must. :scared1:
The wave pool is great too, but I love the lazy river to ride around and around with no effort.

Only strategy i would have would be to get there early and grab the best sunbeds/parasols etc in which to base yourself on the beach.

DF and I will also be doing the water parks for the first time. Everyone says to get there early and pick a good chair/spot. Has anyone had a problem with someone stealing your spot? If we claim our spot, go on some rides, and come back later, what are the odds that it will still be there?

Also, how do you claim it? Towels, shoes, things like that?

Yes, stick beach towels on all the chairs/beds you want to use and also hang stuff from the umbrellas.

Depending on the number in your party, 1 person could stay with them.

We've never had a problem in the past.

We went early and staked out our lounge chairs. One hint: Everyone there will have the white towels you can rent. Bring your own colorful towels to make your chairs and finding them again will be much easier. We made friends with a nice family next to us, so we didn't feel like one of us had to stay. You will LOVE the waterparks!

Hello!

If your priority is riding the slides, I would rent a locker, dump your stuff, and head directly for the slides. The family rafting ride (the name escapes me at the moment) seems to have quite a line, so I would head for it first, then go to Crush'n Gusher. The earlier you hit the slides, the less time you will spend waiting in line. As someone else suggested, do the lazy river when the slides get too busy. As far as the shark reef, I don't recall it having much of a lineup, but perhaps I got lucky.
