Water park preference?

We are planning on one day at one of Disney's waterparks. Which does your family prefer - Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon - and why? My boys are 13, 12, and 7.

We prefer BB because there seems to be more to do there. But DH does like the wave pool at TL....there are huge waves!

Hi - Your boys will probably like them both...Blizzard Beach is water slide heaven, and Typhoon Lagoon has an awesome wave pool, swimming with sharks, a cool lazy river, and water slides. I like the landscaping of Typhoon Lagoon better, but both places are fun. Sandie

I asked my three boys who last time were 13, 9, and 6 and they all agreed Typhoon Lagoon was more fun than BB. In defense of BB I will say however that it was super crowded when we went in June and my oldest son stood in the biggest water slide ride line for 75 minutes. It was hot and not worth it he said. The day we went to TL it had poured buckets for 2 hrs beforehand and thus the park was pretty much deserted. I think that really influenced their opinion. Both are really fun! The travel channel listed BB as number 2 water park in the country if that helps.

We enjoy BB the best with our daughters who are 9,14, and 16.There are more water rides there than TL. But TL does have a great wave pool . Wherever you go get there when the park opens because it does get crowded.:happy1:

Which park is better for toddlers? I have a 4yoa DD and a 1yoa DS.

Haven't been to TL, but our trip to BB was great for then 4 year old grandson. There's a big small kids area with modified water slides and a large shallow pool with fountains that he loved to scoot in and out of. We spent about 2 hours there while the older child went on super-sized stuff with Mom. It was very pleasant for a 4 year old.

Our family prefers BB over Typhoon Lagoon. While TL has a great wave pool, there just seems to be more to do at Blizzard Beach. If you do choose BB, be sure that you all go on the family tube ride..it's a blast!

maciec, we took my younger cousin when he was a toddler and he really enjoyed the "tikes peak" section for the little ones at BB.

Thanks everybody!! It looks like Blizzard Beach has more votes than Typhoon Lagoon! Though I have to admit, I'm leaning more towards TL because of the theming. Coming from the Northeast, I'm not sure I want to see any more "snow" especially on vacation.

If you can only choose one, go BB with the ages of your kids. I like both of them equally, but they are different experiences. BB is more intense, more slides, less landscaping, hotter. TL is more laid back, excellent landscaping, etc.

Personally I think TL is better for the little ones. I just like their little tykes area better. but JMHO.
