Water Mania has gone !

Just got back from a week at Disney. Was a bit of a wash out to say the least - weather v poor. Although typically the last day was good, so it may be better now.
I was shocked to see that water mania on the 192 was being dismantled and closed. Bit of an end to an era!
Parks were also v busy - I suspect its due to the halloween celebrations. Tried to get on soarin at Epcot but all FPs gone and 90 min wait!
90 min wait on Test track - also 80 min for Tower of terror - but only 15 min for Rock and roller coaster oddly enough.?
Saw Spectromagic, which i hadnt seen for years and it was EXCELLENT and changed even since April when my sister last saw it.

Welcome home ! Sounds as though you had a wonderful holiday, notwithstanding the weather. Hope your post holiday blues are not too bad - at least now you can start planning the next trip!

Funnily enough staying in Kissimmee we have often driven past Water Mania and hardly ever seen any people on it.
However, in August there were times when it was fairly busy - shame really, they obviously cannot compete with the bigger water parks.

Apparently the owners -the Larson Family had an offer they couldn't refuse.
It was sold to a development compant The Larsons had not planned to sell. The sale includes the go kart track and the hotel adjacent to it.

that takes me back when we first stayed at disney in the early '80s we always stayed at larsons lodge down past walmart on the 192 east - i remember my son loving the swimming pools there!

We meant to go to Water Mania on many different trips-but never did
If everyone thought like this no wonder it shut down!
